Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of mechanical prevention of deep vein thrombosis after total hip replacement.Method 185 awake patients after anesthesia were encouraged to exercise metatarsophalangeal joint and ankle flexion, extension movements of the limb muscles with the families squeezed. In postoperative day, isometric quadriceps exercise with metatarsophalangeal joint and ankle flexion and extension increased at the same time. After the third day of training began to lift the leg, metatarsophalangeal joint, ankle flexion, isometric quadriceps exercise can be done in turn. After the fourth day,the patients were permitted to cane ambulation.Bed time continue to exercise with the previous method. In the training process, coughing and deep breathing exercise were encouraged. Results In 185 patients after total hip replacement patients, symptoms of deep vein thrombosis occured in 3 cases, the rate was 1.62%(3/185)in femoral neck fractures cemented total hip replacement in 1 case, with osteoarthritis 1 case of total hip replacement, and hip arthroplasty cemented in 1.Cases of femoral neck fracture patients because of deep vein thrombosis rate was 1.75%(1/57)patients in the use of bone cement in the case rate was 3.23%(2/62).Conclusions It shows that mechanical prevention of postoperative deep vein thrombosis is very effective.
