Effect of melatonin on levels of follicle stimulating hormone,luteinizing hormone and testosterone in serum and histology of prostate of mice

Abstract:Objective To research the effects of melatonin(MT) on histological changes and levels of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH) and testosterone(T) in serum of mice.Methods The radioimmunoassay was used in measurement of contents of FSH,LH and T in serum.The effect of MT on FSH,LH and T in the mice was observed and the effect of the MT on the prostate tissue of mice was observed by the way of morphology.Results In the MT group,the contents of FSH,LH and T were lower than that of normal group ,and the prostate tissue of the mice in MT group was atrophique.Conclusion MT can restrain the growing of the prostate tissuse of mice and it can restrain the excreting of the FSH, LH and T.
