Research semi-solid gastric emptying in patients with portal hypertesive gastropathy

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the semi-solid gastric emptying in patients with portal hypertesive gastropathy(PHG).Methods All 28 patients with PHG and 15 ageand sex-matched healthy person were enrolled in this study.99Tcm-DTPA-labelled semi-solid meals were used to evaluate the gastric emptying .Results In patients with PHG,Half gastric emptying time (GET1/2) was (67.5±15.2) min,which was significantly delayed(P<0.05) when campared to that in the health subjects 〔(43.7±7.8) min〕.Meanwhile,the residue rate of 90 min(RR90) was (41.0±6.5)% and (12.0±5.4)% in PHG group and control group,respectively. and there was statistical significance (P<0.01).Conclusions Gastric semi-solid emptying of patients with PHG is delayed,which may be associated with arteriovenous shunt,abnormal levels of gastrointestinal hormones,autonomic nerves disfunction.
