Tricks of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with Chronic Total Occlusions

Abstract:Coronary chronic total occlusions(CTO) are commonly encountered complex lesions identified in one thirds of all patients referred for coronary angiography.The benefits of CTO percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) include symptom relief,improved left ventricular function,and decreased need for coronary artery bypass grafting.To improve success rates of the CTO PCI procedures and long-term outcomes of patients with CTO,operators should be familiar with key techniques of CTO PCI.In this review,we focus on the fundamental and advanced techniques of CTO PCI,including choice of devices and the-state-of-the-art techniques.
