Investigation on the Morphological Diversity of Adzuki Bean Germplasm Resources in Sichuan Province

Abstract:The morphological diversity of 47 adzuki bean germplasm resources from Sichuan province were investigated based on 14 morphological characters.Results were as follows:(1) There were higher variability of some characters related to grain yield per plant such as plant height,number of ramification,pod/plant,seeds/pod and 100-seed weight,number of ramification,and so on;(2) The morphological diversity of the adzuki bean germplasm resources was higher,and its average diversity index was 1.490,(3)Based on the morphological data,these germplasm resources were clustered into 3 groups,which had closely relation to growth habit,growth days,100-seed weight and seed color.These results were suggested that the adzuki bean germplasm resources from Sichuan province could be used as parent materials for breeding program.
