Abstract:Since the introductory investigation of maximum genus by Nordhaus,Stewart and White[1],the up-embeddability fo graphs has been paid great attention so far.The maximum genus r_M(G) of a connected graph G is maximum integer k with the property that exists a celluar embedding of G on the orientable surface S_k of genus k.Since any celluar embedding must have at least one face,the Eluer polyhedral equation implies an upper bound on the maximum genus the number β(G) is known as the Betti number of the connected graph G.Liu[2],Xuong[3] and Nebesky[4] have independently provided different necessary and sufficient conditions on the upper embeddability of graphs.This paper mainly prove the following result:let G be a simple graph,then G~3 is up-embedable.Especially,if k≥4,then G~k are up-embedable as well.

Abstract:Liu and Nebesky have independently provided different necessary and sufficient conditions for the upper embeddability of graphs. This paper mainly investigates the upper embeddability of bipartite graphs. We prove the following result: (1) LetG=(X, Y; E) and G~3=(V(G~3), E(G~3)), where V(G~3)=V(G),E(G~3)=E(G)∪J{e=xy|d_G(x,y)=3,x∈X,y∈Y}, then G~3 is up-embeddable; (2)Let G=(X, Y; E),|X|=|Y|=n(n≥3), for every pair of x∈X, y∈Y with d_G(x, y)=3, such that d(x)+d(y)≥n+1, then G is up-embeddable.

Abstract:The weak minor G of a graph G is the graph obtained from G by a sequence of edge-contraction operations on G. A weak-minor-closed family of upper embeddable graphs is a set G of upper embeddable graphs that for each graph G in G, every weak minor of G is also in G. Up to now, there are few results providing the necessary and sufficient conditions for characterizing upper embeddability of graphs. In this paper, we studied the relation between the vertex splitting operation and the upper embeddability of graphs; provided not only a necessary and sufficient condition for characterizing upper embeddability of graphs, but also a way to construct weak-minor-closed family of upper embeddable graphs from the bouquet of circles; extended a result in J: Graph Theory obtained by L. Nebesky. In addition, the algorithm complex of determining the upper embeddability of a graph can be reduced much by the results obtained in this paper.

Abstract:The strong embedding conjecture states thatany 2-connected graph has a strongembedding on some surface. It implies the circuitdouble cover conjecture: Any 2-connected graph has a circuitdouble cover. Conversely, it is nottrue. But for a 3-regular graph, the two conjecturesare equivalent. In this paper, a characterization of graphshaving a strong embedding with exactly 3 faces, which is thestrong embedding of maximum genus, is given. In addition, somegraphs with the property are provided. More generally, an upperbound of the maximum genus of strong embeddings of a graph ispresented too. Lastly, it is shown that the interpolationtheorem is true to planar Halin graph.

Abstract:Different neighbor conditions are considered in [3,4,9] for a graph up-embeddable. In this paper, we consider the neighbor conditions of all the pairs of vertices with diameter 2 and obtain the following new result: if vertical bar N(G)(u) boolean AND N(G)(v)vertical bar >= 2 for any two vertices u, v is an element of D where D = {(u, v)vertical bar d(G)(u, v) = 2, u, v is an element of V (G)}, then G is up-embeddable.

Abstract:For a free action $G \curvearrowright X$ of an amenable group on a compact metrizable space, we study the Uniform Rokhlin Property (URP) and the conjunction of Uniform Rokhlin Property and comparison (URPC). We give several equivalent formulations of the latter and show that it passes to extensions. We introduce technical conditions called property FCSB and property FCSB in measure, both of which reduce to the marker property if $G$ is abelian. Our first main result is that for any amenable group $G$ property FCSB in measure is equivalent to URP, and for a large class of amenable groups property FCSB is equivalent to URPC. In the latter case, it follows that if the action is moreover minimal then the C$^*$-crossed product $C(X) \rtimes G$ has stable rank one, satisfies the Toms-Winter conjecture, and is classifiable if $\mathrm{mdim}(G \curvearrowright X) = 0$. Our second main result is that if a system $G \curvearrowright X$ has URPC and $\mathrm{mdim}(G \curvearrowright X) < M/2$, then it is embeddable into the $M$-cubical shift $\left([0, 1]^M\right)^G$. Combined with the first main result, we recover the Gutman-Qiao-Tsukamoto sharp shift embeddability theorem as a special case. Notably, the proof avoids the use of either Euclidean geometry or signal analysis and directly extends the theorem to all abelian groups. Finally, we show that if $G$ is a nonamenable group that contains a free subgroup on two generators and $G \curvearrowright X$ is a topologically amenable action, then it is embeddable into $[0, 1]^G$.

Abstract:In 1990, Bondy posed the small circuit double cover (SCDC) conjecture: Every 2-connected graph has a circuit double cover (CDC) with the number of circuits less than | V | (the order of the vertex set V ). The strong embedding conjecture states that every 2-connected graph has a strong embedding on some surface in which the boundary of each face is a circuit. In this paper, HP-graph is defined as the graph which has a strong embedding on the projective plane with one face of valence | V | and the other faces of valence 3. And it is proved that the HP-graph has a strong embedding with | V | −1 or less faces on some surface, which confirms both the SCDC conjecture and the strong embedding conjecture.

Abstract:For any compact Lie group $G$ and any $n$ we construct a smooth $G$-manifold $U_n(G)$ such that any smooth $n$-dimensional $G$-manifold can be embedded in $U_n(G)$ with a trivial normal bundle. Furthermore, we show that such embeddings are unique up to equivariant isotopy It is shown that the (inverse limit) of the cohomology of such spaces gives rise to natural classes which are the analogue for $G$-manifolds of characteristic classes for ordinary manifolds. The cohomotopy groups of $U_n(G)$ are shown to be equal to equivariant bordism groups.
