Abstract:Objective: The aim of the current study was to investigate the effects of radioactive iodine-125 seed implantation on therapeutic efficacy, serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels, and prognosis of patients with ocular malignant tumors. Methods: A total of 86 patients with ocular malignant tumors were randomly allocated into the adjuvant chemotherapy group or iodine-125 seed implantation group, based on a random number table, with 43 patients in each group. The chemotherapy group underwent ocular tumor resections and routine postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, while the iodine-125 group was treated with tumor resections and intraoperative iodine-125 seed implantation. At 3 months after surgery, after the chemotherapy group had received 2 cycles of chemotherapy, total effective rates were accessed in both groups. Serum CEA levels, before and after treatment, were detected by automatic electrochemiluminescence. Serum VEGF levels were also measured, before and after treatment, in both groups via ELISA. Correlation levels between CEA and VEGF were analyzed. Incidence rates of side effects, during treatment, were recorded and compared between the two groups. One-year progression-free survival and 3-year survival rates of the two groups were compared via regular follow-ups. Results: The total effective rate of the iodine-125 group was higher than that of chemotherapy group (P<0.05). In addition, expression levels of serum CEA and VEFG in the two groups, after treatment, were lower than those before treatment (all P<0.05). Decreases in the iodine-125 group were more significant than those in the chemotherapy group (both P<0.05). Serum CEA levels and VEGF levels were positively correlated. Incidence of side effects in the iodine-125 group was significantly lower than that in the chemotherapy group (P<0.05). Furthermore, 1-year progression-free survival and 3-year survival rates in the iodine-125 group were higher than those in the chemotherapy group. Differences were statistically significant (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Radioactive iodine-125 seed implantation in patients with ocular malignant tumors can effectively improve therapeutic efficacy, reduce serum levels of tumor markers CEA and VEGF, and improve 1-year progression-free survival and 3-year survival rates. This method shows a high level of safety. Thus, it is highly recommended for clinical practice.

Abstract:Background The management of pediatric recurrent or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma after multimodal treatment remains challenging. We investigated the feasibility, efficacy, and morbidity of permanent interstitial 125 I seed implantation under image guidance as a salvage treatment for pediatric patients with recurrent or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma. Methods This was a retrospective study of 10 patients who underwent percutaneous ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) guided permanent 125 I seed implantation. Postoperative dosimetry was performed for all patients. Actuarial D90 was 121–187.1 Gy (median, 170.3 Gy). The number of 125 I seeds implanted was 6–158 (median, 34.5), with a median specific activity of 0.7 mCi per seed (range, 0.62–0.8 mCi); total activity was 4.2–113.76 mCi. Follow-up time was 6–107 months (median, 27.5 months); no patients were lost to follow-up. Results The overall response rate (complete response + partial response) was 8/10 (80 %), including two patients with complete response (CR) (20 %) and five patients with partial response (PR) (60 %). Local control rates after 1 and 2 years were 70.1 and 62.3 %, respectively, with a mean local control time of 70.6 months (95 % confidence interval (CI) 45.1–96.0). Survival rates after 1 and 2 years were 68.6 and 57.1 %, respectively, with a mean survival time of 65.3 months (95 % CI 34.1–96.5). Three patients died from distant metastasis; one died from local recurrence 12 months after seed implantation. Three patients suffered a grade I skin reaction and one developed ulceration. No severe adverse neurologic sequelae or blood vessel damage occurred. Conclusions Image guided permanent interstitial 125 I seed implantation as a salvage treatment appears to have a satisfactory outcome in children with recurrent or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.
[Clinical Application of 125I Radioactive Seeds Brachytherapy in the Treatment of the Pediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma in Head and Neck].

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical application and preliminary results of 125I radioactive seeds brachytherapy in the comprehensive treatment of the pediatric soft tissue sarcoma in head and neck. Methods: A total of 24 pediatric patients with soft tissue sarcoma in head and neck were treated at Peking University School of Stomatology from April 2012 to July 2015. The data was collected and analyzed through statistical methods, which included the pathological type, gender, age, tumor location, volume, treatment and the clinical results after the application of 125I radioactive seeds brachytherapy. Results: Among the 24 patients, there were 18 patients of rhabdomyosarcoma, 2 Ewing's sarcoma, 2 fibrosarcoma, 1 synovial sarcoma and 1 malignant fibrous histiocytoma. After a follow-up of 9-48 months, 1 case of temporal rhabdomyosarcoma was observed to have a progression to the the lateral cranial base at the time of 12 months, 2 cases realized local control and systemic progression, the rest were completely relieved, and there was no recurrence during the follow-up period.The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the 1-year and 3-year local control rate were both 94.1%, the 1-year and 3-year event-free survival rate were 87.4% and 77.7%. Conclusion: The preliminary results indicate that 125I radioactive seeds brachytherapy play a very important role in the improvement of the local control rate and survival quality of the pediatric soft tissue sarcoma patient in head and neck, and it's a minimally invasive treatment with the advantage of accuracy andsmall side effects.

Abstract:To analyze the preliminary effects of the 125I radioactive seeds brachytherapy combined chemotherapy in the treatment of pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma which occurs in the head and neck. 17 pediatric patients with rhabdomyosarcoma in head and neck were treated in the Peking University School of stomatology from June 2013 to June 2015. Of the patients, the median age was 4 years old (range 1-16), the ratio of male:female was 12:5. The multimodality treatment of the 125I radioactive seeds brachytherapy combined chemotherapy was done after the pathological diagnosis was clear. The curative effect was observed by means of clinical indications, imaging examination, PET - CT, etc. This group of patients was followed up for 6 to 30 months. The clinical effect was evaluated until the 3rd half-life, without any additional local treatment. One patient developed intracranial metastases (12 months). Another patient of multiple rhabdomyosarcoma realized local control of implanted area, with intracranial and pulmonary metastasis. The local control was 100%, all patients survived during the follow-up period. The recent side effects were slight, mainly included pigment changes and minor pains of the mucosa, which could get spontaneous remission in half a year, and the long-term side effects will be under observation. 1. Compared with the conventional radiotherapy, 125I radioactive seeds brachytherapy realized the precise location of the target, and the dose reduction of surrounding nomal tissues and organs. It can also reduce the incidence of functional injury for the peripheral tissues and organs. The method is more suitable for the children with tumor in head and neck during the period of growth and development on the basis of safety and effectiveness. 2.For the pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma which occurs in head and neck, because of its complex anatomical structures, which is adjacent to the important blood vessels and nerves, complete resection surgery isn’t the first choice. Chemotherapy can decrease the stage of sarcoma and the rate of systemic metastasis in some degree, but radiotherapy plays a very important role as a necessary means to improve the local control rates of tumor. 3. In this paper, we had a discussion of the relationship among the curative effect of rhabdomyosarcoma children in the head and neck and the pathological type, stage, target and prescription dose. 4.The short-term outcome was good, the local control rate was high and there were no severe side effects. But there are lots of questions to be solved, including the prescription dose, the PTV, the long-term outcome (the influence of tooth jaw system, growth and physiological function, etc), which still need further research.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:The purpose of this study was to present our preliminary assessment of the safety and efficacy of 125 I interstitial brachytherapy (IBT) in the management of pediatric skull base tumors.METHODS:Thirty pediatric patients with skull base tumors treated with 125 I IBT from April 2007 to May 2017 were included in this study. The probabilities of local control (LC) and overall survival (OS) were calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method.RESULTS:The one- and two-year LC rates were 96.7% and 74.8%, respectively. The one- and two-year OS rates were 93.3% and 72.2%, respectively. No severe acute toxicity was observed. Severe late toxicities were observed in one (3.33%) of 30 patients.CONCLUSION:125 I IBT is effective and safe in the management of pediatric skull base tumors, with satisfactory cosmetic and functional outcomes.

Abstract:Abstract Rhabdomyosarcomas (RMSs) are highly malignant soft‐tissue sarcomas. Head and neck RMSs often pose unique challenges to treatment because of their closeness to important structures. We here report a rare case of a 1‐year‐old boy with a 1‐month history of right eye swelling and an eye mass. Biopsy of deep tumors in the maxillofacial region supports embryonal RMS. Postoperative positron emission computed tomography showed a 5.0 cm × 4.8 cm × 4.2 cm malignant tumor in the right maxillary region. In accordance with the international RMS study group guideline, the child was diagnosed with IIIa and TNM stage T2bN1M1 embryonal RMS. The child was treated with a combination of chemotherapy and 125I seed implantation radiotherapy and eventually achieved partial remission. This case report shows that 125I seed implantation is a safe and effective means of delivering radiotherapy to young children with head and neck RMSs. It may be an option for children with RMSs for whom surgery or external radiotherapy is unsuitable.
Brachytherapy by Percutaneous Paracentesis Implantation of Iodine-125 Seeds for Lung Cancer

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of brachytherapy by percutaneous paracentesis implantation of iodine 125 seeds for lung cancer. Methods Twenty patients with peripheral lung cancer were undergone brachytherapy by percutaneous paracentesis implantation of iodine 125 seeds. The effectiveness was evaluated by periodically chest film or CT. The complications were analyzed. Results Eighteen of the twenty patients were observed for more than 2 months. CR, PR and NC were seen in 27.8% (5/18), 66.7% (12/18) and 5.6%(1/18) respectively of the patients. Pneumothorax, hemoptysis and pleural cavity bleeding were seen in 20%(4/20),25%(5/20) and 5%(1/20)respectivly of the patients. Conclusion Brachytherapy by percutaneous paracentesis implantation of iodine 125 seeds for lung cancer is quite effective. The complications are easy to treat.

Abstract:The management of inoperable lung cancer remains a challenge. It has been proven that computed tomography (CT)-guided iodine-125 (125I) seed implantation is a safe and efficient method for treating lung cancer. Computed tomographic fluoroscopy (CTF) is superior to traditional CT for percutaneous management of lung lesions, due to the real-time guidance and accurate localization of the lesions. The aim of the present prospective study was to evaluate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of CTF-guided percutaneous permanent implantation of 125I seeds for the treatment of selected patients with inoperable stage T1-3N0M0 non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A total of 24 patients with resectable but inoperable stage T1-3N0 NSCLC, with a total of 28 lesions, underwent CTF-guided percutaneous implantation of radioactive 125I seeds. A prescription dose of 100-120 Gy was delivered to each lesion. The complications and local tumor control rates were documented. Survival was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. All the patients successfully completed the procedure, with a mean procedure duration of 45.7 min (range, 30-75 min). No severe complications occurred. Small asymptomatic pneumothorax with lung volume compression of <10% and minor hemorrhage along the needle track without hemoptysis occurred immediately after the procedure in 3 (12.5%) and 4 (16.7%) of the 24 patients, respectively. At a median follow-up of 31.5 months (range, 8-46 months), the local control rate (LCR) of the lesions was 78.6% (22/28). The 1-, 2- and 3-year overall survival rate was 95.8, 78 and 55%, respectively. In conclusion, CTF is the favourable imaging guidance method for the percutaneous implantation of 125I seeds. CTF-guided brachytherapy with implantation of 125I seeds is a safe, feasible and effective modality for the treatment of inoperable early-stage NSCLC and may be considered an alternative option in selected patients with medically inoperable NSCLC.

Abstract:PURPOSE: To evaluate the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of permanent I-125 seed interstitial brachytherapy reirradiation in patients with retroperitoneal lymph node recurrence under CT guidance.METHODS AND MATERIALS: Seventeen patients with 19 retroperitoneal lymph node recurrence after external beam radiotherapy underwent CT-guided I-125 seed implant brachytherapy from October 2007 to August 2014. Treatment for all patients was preplanned using a three-dimensional radiation therapy planning system 3-5 days before brachytherapy; dosimetry verification was performed immediately after brachytherapy.RESULTS: The actuarial D90 (dose delivered to 90% of the target volume) was 100-198 Gy (median, 126.5 Gy). In 9 patients, pain intensity decreased to mild pain 1-3 weeks after brachytherapy. Pain-free survival ranged 2-15 months (median, 5 months; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.1, 9.9). The overall response rate was 19 of 19 (100%). The median local control time was 15 months (95% CI: 2.3, 27.7). The 6-, 12-, and 24-month local control rate was 88.0%, 63.2%, and 42.1%, respectively. Twelve patients (70.6%) developed distant metastases and died. Two patients (11.8%) are alive with distant metastases but no evidence of local recurrence. Three patients (17.6%) are alive with no evidence of local recurrence. Median overall survival was 10 months (95% CI: 5.7, 14.3); the 1- and 2-year survival rates were 38.1% and 15.3%, respectively. No major complications related to the procedure occurred during or after brachytherapy.CONCLUSIONS: Reirradiation with CT-guided permanent I-125 seed interstitial brachytherapy is feasible, safe, and effective as pain relief or salvage treatment for patients with recurrent retroperitoneal lymph nodes. Abstract:Objective To Observe the effect of 125I seed encapsulated in a welded titanium capsule treatment of patients With Cancers. Methods 125I seeds were inserted into the target tissue and permanent left there for brachytherapy in 85 cases of solid cancers,among them, 1 case had 3 operations, and 2 cases had 2 operations.there were 89 operations that were performed. A total of 3382 seeds implanted. With an average of 38 seeds percase. Results All cases were rehabilited shorfly affer operation, the total cancer control rate of the implanted lesion is about 90%.No radiation related complication and the wandering seed were found. Conclusions Brachytherapy by implation of 125I seeds for cancers had satisfactory outcome and little complications.Which gives surgeon the higtest probability of obtaining improved results for the treatment of local disseminated or reourrence cancers.
Long-term Result of 125 I Seed Brachytherapy for Pediatric Desmoid Tumor in the Head and Neck

Abstract:Background: Desmoid tumor (DT) is rare and challenging, often affects head neck (HN) region in children, and its appropriate treatments are under discussed. This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate long-term effectiveness and safety of I seed brachytherapy for pediatric DT in HN. Procedure: Seven pediatric patients with median age of 3 years old suffered from DT in HN treated with I brachytherapy from January 2008 to June 2018 were included. Among which, 5 underwent sole brachytherapy and the others combined with surgery under a prescription doses ranging from 10 000 cGy to 12 000 cGy. The rate of local control (LC), complete response (CR) and partial response (PR) were calculated after evaluation by radiological and pathological means. The radiation-associated toxicities were also evaluated Results: The LC rate was 7/7 during the follow-up time ranging from 43 to 135 months and with a mean of 57 months. No recurrent lesion was found in the patients receiving surgery combined with brachytherapy. In patients treated with sole brachytherapy, the radiological PR rate and CR rate were 4/5 and 1/5, respectively. In those reaching radiological PR, 3/4 were pathological CR. Slight acute radiation-associated toxicities were observed in all patients, and no late or severe acute toxicity was observed. Conclusion: I brachytherapy is effective and safe in the management of pediatric DT in HN as sole modality or combined with surgery in long term.
The clinical value of iodine-125 seed implantation in the treatment of iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid carcinoma

Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical benefits of 125 I seed implantation for iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (RAIR-DTC). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 36 patients with RAIR-DTC who underwent radioactive 125 I seed implantation from January 2015 to February 2022, involving 73 lesions. Prescription dose: 80~120 Gy. All cases were followed up at 1, 3, and 5 months postoperatively to monitor changes in tumor size, serum thyroglobulin (Tg), and serum anti-thyroglobulin antibody levels in thyrotropin-inhibited states, pain scores, and postoperative adverse reactions. The data were processed and analyzed using IBM SPSS 26.0. LER (Local Effective Rate) and LCR (Local Control Rate) were expressed as n (%), tumor diameter, Tg, and pain scores were represented as Median (Q1, Q3). Pairwise comparisons were conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and a p-value of less than 0.05 indicated statistical significance. Results: Tumor size was significantly reduced after treatment (all P < 0.001): tumor length diameters were 32.67 (17.70, 45.72) mm, 27.45 (12.30, 39.98) mm, 20.70 (11.98, 37.58) mm, and 20.39 (10.56, 33.20) mm in the preoperative, 1-, 3-, and 5-months postoperative periods, respectively. Additionally, two consecutive post-treatment results were more minor and statistically significant than the previous results (P < 0.001). The LER at 1-, 3-, and 5-months post-surgery was 23.73%, 38.98%, and 52.54%, respectively, while the LCR at the same time points was 98.31%, 96.61%, and 94.92%, respectively. Patients' serum Tg levels decreased significantly after surgery. (P < 0.001). Serum Tg levels were measured before surgery and 1-, 3-, and 5-months post-surgery. The results showed that serum Tg levels were 249.45 (79.39, 4718.75) ng/ml, 193.40 (44.53, 2829.00) ng/ml, 192.10 (25.58, 1758.00) ng/ml, and 136.25 (16.57, 1553.25) ng/ml, respectively. Two consecutive post-treatment results were more minor and statistically significant than the previous results (P < 0.001). The patients' pain symptoms were significantly relieved after 125 I brachytherapy (P < 0.001). The pain scores before 125 I seed implantation and at 1, 3, and 5 months after the operation were 5.00 (4.00, 6.00), 3.00 (2.25, 4.00), 2.00 (2.00, 3.00), and 2.00 (1.00, 3.00), respectively. Conclusion: Most lesions treated with 125 I seed implantation in RAIR-DTC patients showed shrinkage and improved pain symptoms. Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of 125I seeds implants in advanced head and neck cancer.METHOD:Treatment fields were designed to encompass the tumor/edema volume with a 2-3 cm margin, based on assessment of diagnostic CT images, 125I seeds were inserted into there and permanent left there for brachytherapy in 5 patients with advanced head and neck cancer including recurrent oropharyngeal cancer, supraglottic cancer and occult cancer.RESULT:Local tumor were controlled evidently and the patients suffering were alleviated, but 1 case occurred skin necrosis and 1 case occurred skin necrosis combined with internal carotid rupture.CONCLUSION:Permanent 125I implants offer useful pallition for patients with advanced recurrent head and neck cancer but need prevention fatal complication.

Abstract:Radiation therapy is the method of choice for subjects with inoperable salivary gland malignancies. I-125 brachytherapy, delivering a high radiation dose to a tumor but sparing surrounding normal tissues, is supposed to be ideal modality for the treatment of salivary gland malignancies. We designed a randomised controlled clinical trial to compare the efficacy of I-125 permanent brachytherapy (PBT) versus intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for inoperable salivary gland malignancies.
Iodine-125 Brachytherapy Suppresses Tumor Growth and Alters Bone Metabolism in a H1299 Xenograft Mouse Model

Abstract:The present study aimed to investigate the efficacy of Iodine-125 (I-125) brachytherapy in a mouse model of non-small cell lung cancer, to further explore the efficacy and appropriate method of implantation of the I-125 radioactive seed. This study also aimed to determine the impact of brachytherapy on bone metabolism. A total of 18 mice were used to establish H1299 xenograft models, and were randomly assigned to three groups. These included non-radioactive seed implantation (Sham IM), fractionated I-125 seed implantation (Fractionated IM) and single I-125 seed implantation (Single IM) groups. Mice were euthanized after 28 days of implantation. H&E staining, Ki67 immunohistochemistry, CD31 morphometric analysis and TUNEL immunofluorescence assays were respectively used to determine the histopathological changes, proliferation, micro-angiogenesis and apoptosis of tumors. In addition, bone volume and microstructure were evaluated using trabecular bone area (Tb.Ar), trabecular thickness (Tb.Th), trabecular number (Tb.N) and cortical thickness. Bone metabolic status was analyzed using histomorphometric staining of tartrate-resistant acid phosphate (TRAP) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) expression in the femur, and using an ELISA assay to determine the expression of C-telopeptide of type 1 collagen (CTX-1) and procollagen type 1 n-terminal propeptide (P1NP) in the serum. Moreover, reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and western blotting were carried out for the analysis of bone remodeling-related gene expression in the bone tissue. Results of the present study demonstrated that compared with the Sham IM group, both the I-125 seed implantation groups, including Fractionated IM and Single IM, demonstrated significant therapeutic effects in both tumor volume and weight. More specifically, the most significant therapeutic effects on tumor inhibition were observed in the Fractionated IM group. Results of Ki67 and CD31 immunohistochemical staining suggested a notable reduction in tumor cell proliferation and micro-angiogenesis, and results of the TUNEL assay demonstrated an increase in tumor cell apoptosis. Although the cortical bone appeared thinner and more fragile in both I-125 seed implantation groups, no notable adverse changes in the morphology of the cancellous bone were observed, and the index of Tb.Ar, Tb.Th and Tb.n was not significantly different among Sham IM and I-125 implantation groups. However, alterations in bone metabolism were characterized by a decrease in CTX-1 and P1NP expression, accompanied by an increase in TRAP activity and a decrease in ALP activity. Results of the present study also demonstrated the notable suppression of osteocalcin and runt-related transcription factor 2. I-125 seed implantation may be an effective and safe antitumor strategy. Moreover, the use of fractionated implantation patterns based on tumor shape exhibited improved therapeutic effect on tumor suppression when the total number of I-125 seeds was equivalent along with reduced complications associated with bone loss.
Surgery Combined with Postoperative 125i Seed Brachytherapy for the Treatment of Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the Parotid Gland in Pediatric Patients

Abstract:BackgroundThis retrospective study was undertaken to analyze the effectiveness and safety of surgery combined with postoperative I-125 seed brachytherapy in the treatment of mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) of the parotid gland with risk factors in pediatric patients.ProcedureFrom September 2002 to January 2012, 24 patients, ages 5-16 years (mean, 13.2 years; median, 12.3 years), with MEC of the parotid gland were included. Patients with high risk factors received I-125 seed brachytherapy (median actuarial D90, 97 Gy) within 4 weeks following surgery. Radioactivity was 18.5-33.3 MBq per seed and the prescription dose was 60-120 Gy. Overall and disease-free survival rates, local control rate, and distant metastasis were recorded. Radiation-associated late side effects, including dermatitis, hearing loss, thyroid nodules, and secondary malignancy, were also evaluated.ResultsDuring the follow-up period of 5-13.4 years (median, 7.2 years), the overall and disease-free survival rates were all 100%. No patients developed local recurrence, regional/distant metastasis, and no severe radiation-associated complications including the second malignancy were noted.ConclusionSurgery combined with postoperative I-125 seed brachytherapy is effective and safe in the treatment of MEC of the parotid gland in pediatric patients, with no evidence of severe late radiation-related complications. More patients and longer follow-up data are still needed to prove the efficacy of I-125 brachytherapy.
Preliminary Clinical Efficacy of Iodine-125 Seed Implantation for the Treatment of Advanced Malignant Lung Tumors

Abstract:Aims: This study aims to observe the preliminary clinical efficacy of percutaneous interstitial brachytherapy using iodine-125 seeds for the treatment of advanced malignant lung tumors. Subjects and Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 24 patients in our hospital with advanced malignant lung tumors between June 2013 and November 2017. Computed tomography (CT)-guided iodine-125 seed implantation therapy was administered to these patients. All patients were followed up at 3, 6, and 12 months after the operation. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by CT. Results: Among the 24 patients, the objective response rates at 3, 6, and 12 months after the procedure were 50.0%, 50.0%, and 33.3%, respectively. Recent occurrence of adverse reactions were observed, including four cases of pneumothorax, three cases of hemoptysis, and two cases of particle displacement. Conclusions: CT-guided percutaneous interstitial brachytherapy with iodine-125 seeds can be used for the treatment of lung malignant tumors. Its clinical curative effect is remarkable and it results in limited trauma, reducing the incidence of adverse reactions and improving patient quality of life.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and complications of permanent interstitial brachytherapy in the treatment of prostatec ancer. In the early period after the implantation all the patients experienced acute irritative or obstructive urinary symptoms.B ut thec onditions improved gradually from the sixth month. Diarrhea was found in 4 cases and disappeared gradually from the third month.
