Abstract:Hennings and Kuperberg defined quantum invariants $Z_{Henn}$ and $Z_{Kup}$ for closed oriented $3$-manifolds based on certain Hopf algebras, respectively. When the Hopf algebras are semisimple, it is shown that $Z_{Kup}=|Z_{Henn}|^2$. In this paper, we present a new proof of this equality.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:For a field k and two finite groups G and X, when G acts on X from the right by group automorphisms, there is a Hopf algebra structure on k-space (kX op )* ⋇ kG (see Theorem 2.1), called a non-balanced quantum double and denoted by D X (G). In this paper, some Hopf algebra properties of D X (G) are given, the representation types of D X (G) viewed as a k-algebra are discussed, the algebra structure and module category over D X (G) are studied. Since the Hopf algebra structure of non-balanced quantum double D X (G) generalizes the usual quantum double D(G) for a finite group G, all results about D X (G) in this paper can also be used to describe D(G) as a special case and the universal R-matrix of D X (G) provides more solutions of Yang-Baxter equation.

Abstract:The theory of weak Hopf algebras is a development of the theory of Hopf algebras, which is important in the theory of quantum groups and the related theory of mathematical physics. In this paper, we give a survey of this theory and its applications.Firstly, we review some concepts related to weak Hopf algebras and their relationship and moreover, some algebraical structures. Secondly, we collect the generalizations of quantum double, i.e. quantum quasi-double and quantum G-double, constructed from some certain weak Hopf algebras so as to obtain a class of singular solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (QYBE). Their properties are also introduced in this part. Thirdly, as the important examples of weak Hopf algebras, some weaken quantized enveloping algebra are given which are associated with some generalizations of Lie algebra, such as generalized Kac-Moody algebra, Borcherds superalgebras. Moreover, their algebraic structures are discussed such that one can understand them clearly. Finally, some generalized notions of tensor category are introduced including pre-tensor category and weak tensor category and their braidings. They can be realized respectively from the categories of representations of the related classes of weak Hopf algebras and their quantum quasi-doubles. As the categorical version of a (singular) solutions of the QYBE, a general Yang-Baxter operator is studied. In summary, we list the diagrams of relations among these kinds of categories.

Abstract:In[3]and[6],the Hopf algebra structures of path algebra and path coalgebra on a Hopf quiver and a covering quiver respect to a weight sequence respectively were introduced independently.The main aim of this paper is to show the dually one-to-one correspondent relations between their structures(see Theorems 2.1 and 2.4).As applications,firstly,the authors obtain some important results about the Hopf algebra structure on the quotient of path algebra on a cycle;then,they prove that the Sweedler's fourdimensional Hopf algebra H4 is not only quasi-triangular but also co-quasi-triangular.Lastly,they characterize the graded automorphism group of the Hopf algebras on the path algebra of a Schurian covering quiver, according to that on the path coalgebra of a Schurian Hopf quiver.

Abstract:We generalize a result of Araki (1985) on indecomposable group representations with invariant (necessarily indefinite) inner product and irreducible subrepresentation to Hopf $*$-algebras. Moreover, we characterize invariant inner products on the projective indecomposable representations of small quantum groups $U_qsl(2)$ at odd roots of unity and on the indecomposable representations of generalized Taft algebras $H_{n,d}(q)$.

Abstract:Hopf algebroids are generalizations of Hopf algebras to less commutative settings. We show how the comultiplication defined by Kostant and Kumar turns the affine nil Hecke algebra associated to a Coxeter system into a Hopf algebroid without an antipode. The proof relies on mixed dihedral braid relations between Demazure operators and simple reflections. For researchers new to Hopf algebroids we include additional examples from ring theory, representation theory, and algebraic geometry.

Abstract:We describe a bigraded cocommutative Hopf algebra structure on the weight zero compactly supported rational cohomology of the moduli space of principally polarized abelian varieties. By relating the primitives for the coproduct to graph cohomology, we deduce that $\dim H^{2g+k}_c(\mathcal{A}_g)$ grows at least exponentially with $g$ for $k = 0$ and for all but finitely many positive integers $k$. Our proof relies on a new result of independent interest; we use a filtered variant of the Waldhausen construction to show that Quillen's spectral sequence abutting to the cohomology of $BK(\mathbb{Z})$ is a spectral sequence of Hopf algebras. From the same construction, we also deduce that $\dim H^{\binom{n}{2} - n - k}(\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{Z}))$ grows at least exponentially with $n$, for $k = -1$ and for all but finitely many non-negative integers $k$.

Abstract:In this work, we use probability groups, introduced by Harrison in 1979, as a tool to study a semisimple Hopf algebra H with a commutative character ring and prove that the algebra generalized by the dual probability group is the center Z(H) of H and the product of two class sums is an integral combination up to a factor of dim(H)(-1) of the class sums of H. We classify all the 2-integral probability groups with two or three elements.

Abstract:In this note we prove a generalization of the Frobenius-Schur theorem for finite groups for the case of semisimple Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. A similar result holds in characteristic $p > 2$ if the Hopf algebra is also cosemisimple. In fact we show a more general version for any finite-dimensional semisimple algebra with an involution.

Abstract:We provide a direct proof of Seidel representation in the quantum K-theory QK(Gr(k, n)) by studying projected Gromov-Witten varieties concretely. As applications, we give an alternative proof of the K-theoretic quantum Pieri rule by Buch and Mihalcea, reduce certain quantum Schubert structure constants of higher degree to classical Littlewood-Richardson coefficients for K(Gr(k, n)), and provide a quantum Littlewood-Richardson rule for QK(Gr(3, n)).

Positivity of minuscule quantum K-theory

Abstract:We prove that the Schubert structure constants of the quantum $K$-theory ring of any minuscule flag variety or quadric hypersurface have signs that alternate with codimension. We also prove that the powers of the deformation parameter $q$ that occur in the product of two Schubert classes in the quantum cohomology or quantum $K$-theory ring of a cominuscule flag variety form an integer interval. Our proofs are based on several new results, including an explicit description of the most general non-empty intersection of two Schubert varieties in an arbitrary flag manifold, and a computation of the cohomology groups of any negative line bundle restricted to a Richardson variety in a cominuscule flag variety. We also give a type-uniform proof of the quantum-to-classical theorem, which asserts that the (3-point, genus 0) Gromov-Witten invariants of any cominuscule flag variety are classical triple-intersection numbers on an associated flag variety. Finally, we prove several new results about the geometry and combinatorics related to this theorem.

Abstract:A geometric construction of quantum Schur algebras was given by Beilinson, Lusztig and MacPherson in terms of pairs of flags in a vector space. By viewing such pairs of flags as representations of a poset, we give a recursive formula for the structure constants of quantum Schur algebras which is related to certain Hall polynomials. As an application, we provide a direct proof of the fundamental multiplication formulas which play a key role in the Beilinson–Lusztig–MacPherson realization of quantum gln. In the appendix we show how to groupoidify quantum Schur algebras in the sense of Baez, Hoffnung and Walker.

Abstract:In this paper we study the space $C(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ of complex invariant functions on $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, through a Hopf algebra viewpoint. First, we consider a variant notion of Zelevinsky's PSH algebra defined over the real numbers $\mathbb{R}$. In particular, we show that two specific $\mathbb{R}$-lattices inside the complex Hopf algebra $\bigoplus_nC(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ are real PSH algebras, and that they do not descend to $\mathbb{Z}$. Then, among consequences, we prove that every element in $C(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ is a linear combination of Harish-Chandra inductions of Kawanaka's pre-cuspidal functions, and give a conceptual characterisation of duality operation for $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, which in turn allows us to give a new proof of a classical result of Kawanaka.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a finite dimensional semisimple cosemisimple quasitriangular Hopf algebra $(H,R\,)$ with $R^{\,21}R\in C(H\otimes H\,)$ (we call this type of Hopf algebras almost-quasitriangular) over an algebraically closed field $k$. We denote by $B$ the vector space generated by the left tensorand of $R^{\,21}R$. Then $B$ is a sub-Hopf algebra of $H$. We proved that when $\dim B$ is odd, $H$ has a triangular structure and can be obtained from a group algebra by twisting its usual comultiplication [14]; when $\dim B$ is even, $H$ is an extension of an abelian group algebra and a triangular Hopf algebra, and may not be triangular. In general, an almost-triangular Hopf algebra can be viewed as a cocycle bicrossproduct.
