Abstract:With the co-efforts from Zhejiang University,Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Xidian Universi-ty,a transmission scheme of the Advanced Digital Television Broadcasting System(ADTB)is presented in this paper.The simulated system functions and performance are superior to that of international DTV transmission standards.A stable fixed,portable and even mobile reception of large volume broadcasting data can be attained with a consumer grade tuner and various modulation modes.The scheme is also designed to support SFN and on-channel repeater functions,to incorporate efficient digital cable transmission modes,and to be easily compatible with some foreign standards.The presented scheme is one of the ideal candidates of DTV broadcasting standards being defined in our country.[

Abstract:1.Chinese standards for digital terrestrial television broadcasting Since 1994,China has initiated the researches on digital terrestrial television broadcasting.In 2006,the national standard GB 20600-2006 (DTMB) was released.Some self-owned innovative technologies,such as the TDS-OFDM technology,the hierarchical frame structure synchronous with the absolute time,the protection technology of the frame head and frame body,and Low Density Parity Check Code (LDPC),have been adopted in DTMB,effectively improving the comprehensive performance of the system.

Abstract:Digital television middleware is a new research field of digital television. It is a software platform in the receiver of digital television broadcasting. It allows various set-top boxes to be used in digital television broadcasting network. This paper addresses the structure of digital television middleware system. The security sub-system is investigated and analyzed. The fundamental principles of construction and operation of the security sub-system accord with Chinese digital television middleware standards are presented. The security sub-system is designed and implemented by using encryption techniques. It has been used in real environment of interactive DTV system .

Abstract:Technical details of the recently announced Chinese Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Standard which defines the physical layer transmission protocol including the frame structure, channel coding and modulation schemes are discussed in this paper. The major differences between Chinese DTV standard in multi-carrier working mode and DVB-T standard, all occupying the same 8 MHz baseband bandwidth, are addressed. The measurement results of several working modes showing satisfactory receiving performance of high and standard definition TV signals under both indoor and outdoor environments for the fixed and mobile reception are also presented

Abstract:China is drafting the digital television (DTV) interactive standard itself, aiming to make it more suitable for the Chinese market. This paper presents a modular layer-oriented and extensible middleware solution compatible with the future standards. Furthermore this paper discusses the concept of hardware abstraction layer (HAL) that is the base of upper software. Abstract:This paper provides a technical review of the Chinese Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Standard (DTTB), which defines the physical layer transmission protocol, including the frame structure, channel coding, and modulation schemes. Key technologies adopted into this standard, such as time-domain synchronous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (TDS-OFDM), etc., are discussed in detail. Measurement results from independent third parties show satisfactory receiving performance of high-definition and standard-definition TV signals under both indoor and outdoor environments for fixed and mobile reception. Major differences between this Chinese standard and the Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB-T) standard, which has the largest deployment worldwide and also occupies an 8-MHz analog bandwidth, are also briefly addressed.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to introduce the DMB-T (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia / Television Broadcasting) protocol developed by Digital TV Transmission Technique R&D Center of Tsinghua University. In this paper the requirements of the Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting (DTTB) are presented. Then the existing international standards announced by USA, Europe and Japan are discussed in brief and the structure and critical techniques of the DMB-T system are described. Simulation results have proved that the DMB-T protocol has good performance and valuable characters.

Abstract:The digital television terrestrial multimedia broadcasting standard was ratified on August 18, 2006, and is the mandatory digital television terrestrial broadcasting standard in China. DTMB defines the signal frame structure, the coding and modulation schemes, and adopts time-domain synchronous orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing technology using pseudo random sequence as both the guard interval of the OFDM block and the training symbol. It can deliver fast system synchronization, accurate channel estimation, high spectrum efficiency, and excellent single-frequency network performance. This article covers the major features of the DTMB standard, its industrialization, current deployment status, and various applications based on the DTMB standard.

Abstract:Requirement of the Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting (DTTB) and channel characters of the DTTB is described in this paper. On the basis of existing international standards of DTTB, the DMB-T (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia/Television Broadcasting) standard is innovated by Digital TV RD Center of Tsinghua University. After comparing the critical transmission techniques of these standards, such as modulation, synchronization and channel estimation, we conclude that the DMB-T has more excellent performance.

Abstract:This paper presents a recently developed fourth standard that meets the China's unique needs. In China, the proportion of television viewers using terrestrial reception is pretty high. Other characteristics of China's TV audience made it necessary to develop a new digital terrestrial television broadcasting standard that provides high-quality multimedia service as well. Field trials to date have demonstrated DTTB's good performance, providing a solid foundation for building on these applications. We're very willing to collaborate with people from academic, engineering, and industrial groups to improve the DTTB standard in the future.
