Abstract:This information intercourse system (IICS) is designed for the news intercourse among TV stations and modernization of network and information management in the TV station. Firewall and double-server structure are used in hardware; in software, tech- nologies such as WEB, MIS and database synchronization are adopted. The whole system is completed with the help of the guideline of software engineering. A design for the system is introduced in detail, stating some key technologies using in system realization, and also having a study on some main problems in system realization.

Abstract:This paper introduces a Video on Demand system based on both CATV broadcasting channels and IP interactive network. CATV broadcasting channels are used for content transmission and IP network is used for control information transmission between Set Top Box and Headend Server. The control mechanism of whole system is designed and implemented according to DSM-CC protocol stacks. The paper narrates the end-to-end system diagram and VoD application software of Set Top Box. The system can be used in CATV network and provide VoD services for CATV subscribers.

Abstract:With the co-efforts from Zhejiang University,Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Xidian Universi-ty,a transmission scheme of the Advanced Digital Television Broadcasting System(ADTB)is presented in this paper.The simulated system functions and performance are superior to that of international DTV transmission standards.A stable fixed,portable and even mobile reception of large volume broadcasting data can be attained with a consumer grade tuner and various modulation modes.The scheme is also designed to support SFN and on-channel repeater functions,to incorporate efficient digital cable transmission modes,and to be easily compatible with some foreign standards.The presented scheme is one of the ideal candidates of DTV broadcasting standards being defined in our country.[

Abstract:For fast transmission and efficient use of TV programs,an efficient organization and browsing technology for TV program based on new media platform is proposed.First,for rapid release of TV programs,the traditional radio and TV media asset data is migrated to the new media platform.Then,the system collects and analyzes watching behavior of users through voting to calculate video hot spots,and then adds the corresponding story points.Finally,based on the watching behavior,similarity between users and programs,the personalized recommendation of TV program is generated through the improved collaborative filtering method.Our system has been tested in the new media department of province,city and country level TV stations.Results show that the system has the advantages of simple operation,efficient operation,and can significantly enhance viewing experiences,thus has wide application prospect.

The scheme has different SI engine for simple EPG and advanced EPG in order to improve the efficiency; it also provides a new structure for EPG database which include event index database and event information database, and this structure is convenient to visiting and management.

Abstract:The hardware resource limit and real time need have made it difficult to design embedded multimedia terminal's software. We have designed and implemented a device's software system. This device is a set-top box called SOPCA that can receive and play digital TV programs. in designing SOPCA's software modules, we bring forward a scheduling method based on tasks. Each self_governed function is implemented in one task. And all SOPCA's functions are achieved via these task cells' coordination. This method boosts up system's modularity, scalability and transplantability. It has some significance for other embedded systems' designing.

Abstract:In this paper an intellectualized and integrated testing system of FM broadcast is devised and exploited to satisfy with the requirement of digital video broadcast development.Using high speed DSP processing system,it realizes automatic testing of eleven running technology indexes according to different configuration of system,such as the frequency response of broadcast transmitter,distortion degree,SNR,and so on.the real testing results show that the technology indexes of the system achieve domestic one-up level.What′s more,the repeating quality and reliability is favorable.

Abstract:This paper analyses the new problems caused by the rapid development of digital television (DTV) and the corresponding solutions, and proposes a flexible and effective solution called System Dynamic Building (SDB) for Set Top Box (STB). Then the design and implementation of SDB are presented. After introducing two applications that are modularization download and multi-CAS supporting, we conclude that the SDB technique will strongly increase profit spaces for the related links of DTV industry chain and ensure the benefits of customers, So it is an all-win solution.

Abstract:Digital multimedia broadcasting is available in more and more countries with various forms. One of the most successful forms is Digital Video Broadcasting for Terrestrial (DVB-T), which has been deployed in most countries of the world for years. In order to bring the digital multimedia broadcasting services to battery-powered handheld receivers in a mobile environment, Digital Video Broadcasting for Handheld (DVB-H) has been formally adopted by ETSI. More advanced and complex digital multimedia broadcasting systems are under development, for example, the next generation of DVB-T, a.k.a. DVB-T2. Current commercial DVB-T/H receivers are usually built upon dedicated application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). However, ASICs are not flexible for incoming evolved standards and less overall-area efficient since they cannot be efficiently reused and shared among different radio standards, when we integrate a DVB-T/H receiver into a mobile phone. This paper presents an example implementation of a DVB-T/H receiver on the prototype of Infineon Technologies' Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platform called MuSIC (Multiple SIMD Cores), which is a DSP-centered and accelerator-assisted architecture and aims at battery-powered mass-market handheld terminals.

By using Secondary Encode and special sync-searching byte-recovering circuits, not only the processing time reduces remarkably, but also needs less hardware resource. This scheme has already been applied in the chip design of satellite digital television.

Abstract:Currently, the demand for multimedia information publication system supporting for multiple terminals is getting more and more emergent. But the capacity of set-top box terminal is limited. In order to improve scalability and reliability, we separated its control logic from physical data transmission. Data transmission is optimized to support a large number of terminals with special algorithms. Time-sharing engine is used to improve performance of system when sources exceed the capacity of STB. Evaluation result shows that the system designed in this paper can provide high-quality information display services for terminal users.

Abstract:The set-top box (STB) based scalable information publication system is designed and implemented to improve publication system efficiency. This system consists of application server,central instances for STB groups and terminals. Separation of control logic and data transmission is used together with hardware redundancy and SSL to improve system scalability,reliability and usability. Data transmission is optimized to supporta large number of terminals. Evaluation result shows that this system could provide high-quality information display service at a relative lower hardware cost. This system has been applied in retail stores,restaurants in Shanghai,Beijing and Shandong.

Abstract:IP(Internet protocol) layer multicast is widely used in digital TV(DTV) systems for large-scale deployment.But restricted by the feature of "best effort" of IP network,packet loss is very common in streaming media transmission.Thus,IP network packet loss becomes the bottleneck of the quality of service(QoS) improvement of existing DTV systems.To solve this problem,we design a novel middleware system specialised for streaming media service quality business with the characteristics of low degree of coupling and high scalability.The core algorithm of this system is an optimised Reed-Solomon coding scheme,it reduces the complexity of coding and decoding and efficiently implement RS coding-based forward error correction technique.
