Abstract:The core-shell composite particles show a lot of different and outstanding characters when they are prepared by coating other inorganic substances in nano-particle surfaces.This article has discussed three kinds of main preparation methods of the core-shell composite particle: The sol-gel method,Heterogeneous nucleation process and heterogeneous deposition process.At first,preparation mechanism and preparation technique process are introduced respectively.Then,the researching situation is discussed.At last,influence factors are analyzed to prepare the perfect core-shell composite particles and to improve the ratios of coated nano-particles.

Abstract:In recent years, the polymer nano-fiber behaves some novel optical properties by doping with some functional nano-particles, which prompts them to play an important role in the bio-chemical imaging and sensor areas. In this review, we have reviewed the preparation methods of the polymer nano-fibers, such as the electrospinning and one-step drawing technology, as well as the preparation processes and applications of the polymer nano-fibers doping systems containing different functional nano-particles. The low melting point of polymer nano-fiber leads to the easier preparation process. However, the susceptible corrosion to chemical and high temperature has limited its scope of application. In the future works, one should perfect the polymer nano-fibers devices by improving the production process and introducing new materials.

Abstract:A broad range of scientific and technological problems involves multi-scales and complex systems. This paper reviews some of unique and interesting nano-scale phenomena and applications relevant to polymer processing. It addresses four subjects. The first one is concerned with the dynamics of polymer chains in confined geometries. In contrary to intuition one may have, polymer chains may diffuse much faster in confined geometries than in the bulk. The second subject deals with extruder processing of polymer nanocomposites. Understanding of the dynamics of polymer chains in confined geometries helps shade light on how nanoparticles may be dispersed in polymer matrices in a nanometer scale. The third one is on the use of nano-objects as nano-reactors. An example is given to show how one may take the advantage of nano-reactors to improve reaction yield and/or reaction selectivity. The last subject deals with reaction kinetics at polymer–polymer interfaces of a few nanometers in thickness, a very important issue in reactive polymer blending processes.

Abstract:Nanoparticles are atomic or molecular groups composed of a very small number of atoms or molecules. The particles have a shell structure. Nanomaterials are made up of a long-range ordered arrangement of atoms in grains and a disordered interface composition. The nanomaterial has a large number of interfaces. These unique volume effects, surface effects, and macroscopic quantum tunnelling effects enable nanomaterials to have unusual mechanical, electrical, magnetic, thermal, optical, catalysis, and superconducting properties. Such characteristics make nanomaterials have significant application value in the fields of national defense, electronics, chemical industry, metallurgy, light industry, aviation, ceramics, catalysts, medicine, etc. The development of nanomaterial technology will have a profound impact on the productivity and may solve a series of problems such as food, health, energy and environmental protection fundamentally. This article analyzes the application prospect of nanomaterial and different preparation method. At the same time, the advantages and disadvantages of preparation are shown in the article which provides a literature review for researchers to refer.

Abstract:A polymer nanofiber and its functional materials, preparation method and use thereof are provided. The polymer nanofiber is composed of core and shell which surrounds the core, or only comprises shell, the polymer nanofiber is synthesized by polymerization of monomer in the presence of initiator and solvent, and this preparation method may extensively reduce costs and be easy to carry out batch production of polymer nanotubes and core-shell nanowires. The polymer nanofiber has potential applications in organic solvent adsorption, high performance ion exchange, functional template, etc.

Abstract:Nanocomposite coatings and their potential applications are described in detail.Some results achieved in our lab are also briefly presented in systems such as high solid acrylic based polyurethane/nano-SiO2,high solid polyester based polyurethane/nano-SiO2 and waterborne polyacrylate/nano-SiO2 or nano-TiO2 nanocomposite coatings.It is found that application of nanoparticles in organic coatings is valuable for developing a series of high performance coatings.

Abstract:In recent years, polymer/graphene nanocomposites have attracted much attention because of their wide applications in many fields, such as chemistry, physics, materials and electronics. In this review, the preparation methods of polymer/graphene nanocomposites, including solution blending, melt blending and in situ polymerisation, were presented in order to study the relationship between these methods and their final properties. Each method has an influence on the final characteristics of the nanocomposites. Their respective advantages and disadvantages were discussed. Additionally, the potential application research of graphene-reinforced polymer nanocomposites, including supercapacitors, sensors and solar cells was detailed comprehensively. The current review demonstrated that the nanocomposites exhibit superior performances and will be applied as new materials or novel devices. The research direction of polymer/graphene nanocomposites in the future was also predicted.

Abstract:Nano‐CaCO3 is a potential nanomaterial at present. In this paper, the preparation process (physical and chemical methods), modification methods (physical and chemical modification), and application fields (chemical, energy, food, biomedicine, and environment industries) of nano‐CaCO3 are introduced and discussed. This provides theoretical guidance for people who understand the field. Nano‐calcium carbonate (nano‐CaCO3) is a tiny inorganic filler created in the 1980s. It boasts a high specific surface area, excellent biocompatibility, and nontoxicity. As a result, it finds extensive applications in the rubber, plastic, and paper industries. This paper intends to give a general overview of the preparation process, surface modification, and application of nano‐CaCO3. In particular, the preparation process conditions, the characteristics of the prepared nano‐CaCO3, the method and mechanism of surface modification, and also the main application research progress of nano‐CaCO3 are described comprehensively. This paper has a good guiding effect for the researchers and related staff engaged in the study of nano‐CaCO3.

Abstract:This review summarizes the different methods of preparation of polymer nanoparticles including nanospheres and nanocapsules. The first part summarizes the basic principle of each method of nanoparticle preparation. It presents the most recent innovations and progresses obtained over the last decade and which were not included in previous reviews on the subject. Strategies for the obtaining of nanoparticles with controlled in vivo fate are described in the second part of the review. A paragraph summarizing scaling up of nanoparticle production and presenting corresponding pilot set-up is considered in the third part of the review. Treatments of nanoparticles, applied after the synthesis, are described in the next part including purification, sterilization, lyophilization and concentration. Finally, methods to obtain labelled nanoparticles for in vitro and in vivo investigations are described in the last part of this review.

Abstract:The invention discloses a polymer nanofiber, a functional/hybrid material thereof and preparation methods and applications of the polymer nanofiber and the functional/hybrid material. The polymer nanofiber is optionally structurally composed of a core layer and a shell layer enclosing the core layer or a shell layer only, the core layer made of materials as same as or different from materials for the shell layer, the diameter of the polymer nanofiber ranges from 10 nanometers to 10 micrometers, and the length of the polymer nanofiber ranges from 500 nanometers to 50 millimeters. A polymer nanotube or nanowire is prepared in batch simply and conveniently by the aid of the novel method. The non-traditional simple method can be used for large-scale preparation of the polymer nanotubes or the polymer nanowires with low cost.

Characterization and Application of Nanomaterials

Abstract:Carbon-based hollow structured nanomaterials have become one of the hot areas for research and development of hollow structured nanomaterials due to their unique structure, excellent physicochemical properties and promising applications. The design and synthesis of novel carbon-based hollow structured nanomaterials are of great scientific significance and wide application value. The recent research on the synthesis, structure and functionalization of carbon-based hollow structured nanomaterials and their related applications are reviewed. The basic synthetic strategies of carbon-based hollow structure nanomaterials are briefly introduced, and the structural design, material functionalization and main applications of carbon-based hollow structure nanomaterials are described in detail. Finally, the current challenges and opportunities in the synthesis and application of carbon-based hollow structured nanomaterials are discussed.
