Abstract:The preparation technology for polyolefin nanometer compound material divided into co－ mix process and in－ situ polymerizing process overall.The preparation method for polyolefin laminated silicate nanometer composite is special.This paper sums up the material properties and preparation technology progress in rencent years, and discusses characteristics of every kind of preparation process. Abstract:Metal-organic framework (MOF)/polymer composites combining advantages of both materials have received significant attention in the recent years. However, the complexity and inefficiency of the current fabrication approaches have hindered their further development. Herein, we demonstrate a facile one-pot solvent crystal template strategy to efficiently fabricate ZIF-8/polyurethane (PU) composites. This method eliminated the pre-synthesis and purification of MOFs, thus greatly simplifying the fabrication process. Moreover, the solvent crystal template introduced macropores in the polymer matrix, which generated a hierarchically porous structure to facilitate the molecular diffusion in the composite. The obtained ZIF-8/PU composites exhibited an accelerated dye adsorption rate constant of 1.89 x 10(-3) g mg(-1) min(-1), which was 2.6 times higher than that of MOF powders. The Langmuir isotherm study further confirmed favorable adsorption of dye molecules with a maximum adsorption capacity of 18.1 mg g(-1).

Abstract:Polylactide (PLA)/poly(ethylene-co-octene)(POE) blends with various contents of nano-SiO2 were prepared via melt mixing. The structure and properties of the PLA/POE/nano-SiO2 ternary composites were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), rheometry, and tensile testing. The particle size of the dispersed POE phase first decreased with increasing nano-SiO2 content and then remained constant. Nano-SiO2 played an important role in the heterogeneous nucleation of PLA, which resulted in an increase of the crystallinity of PLA. The synergistic effect of both POE and nano-SiO2 can significantly improve the toughness, strength, and modulus of PLA. When the ratio of PLA/POE/nano-SiO2 was 90/10/0.5, PLA/POE/nano-SiO2 composite had the best comprehensive properties.

Abstract:The progress of study on synthesizing SiO2/polymer nanocomposite emulsion was reviewed.The major topic concerns some kinds of SiO2 materials and the synthetic mechanisms and methods of SiO2/Polymer nanocomposite emulsion.SiO2/polymer nanocomposite emulsion can be prepared through electrostatic interactions,adsorption intermedium,grafting and coupling mechanism.Blending,sol-gel,emulsion polymerization and dispersion polymerization are the common ways to prepare this nanocomposite emulsion.Futher more,the study emphases,developable directions and applications of the SiO2/polymer nanocomposite emulsion in the fields of paints,adhesive and plastic modifying were summarized.

Abstract:Engineering ceramics in the system Si-O-C-N-B manufactured from preceramic silicon containing polymers gain in significance with increasing availability of advanced precursor materials such as poly(carbosilane), -(silazane), -(siloxane) or -(borosilazane). While high temperature resistant Si-C and Si-N ceramic fibers are already used to reinforce ceramic matrix composites (CMC) in air- and spacecraft structures, novel products such as coatings, tapes, foams, and complex shaped components for medium and low temperature applications in the fields of energy, environmental, transportation, and communication technologies become more important in the future. The synthesis of preceramic polymer, properties of polymer derived ceramic, methods of manufacturing and effects on polymer pyrolysis were reviewed.

Abstract:In recent years, polymer/graphene nanocomposites have attracted much attention because of their wide applications in many fields, such as chemistry, physics, materials and electronics. In this review, the preparation methods of polymer/graphene nanocomposites, including solution blending, melt blending and in situ polymerisation, were presented in order to study the relationship between these methods and their final properties. Each method has an influence on the final characteristics of the nanocomposites. Their respective advantages and disadvantages were discussed. Additionally, the potential application research of graphene-reinforced polymer nanocomposites, including supercapacitors, sensors and solar cells was detailed comprehensively. The current review demonstrated that the nanocomposites exhibit superior performances and will be applied as new materials or novel devices. The research direction of polymer/graphene nanocomposites in the future was also predicted.

Abstract:Nanoscale functionalization for polymers is crucial to further understand essential correlation between polymer chain structure and macroscopic properties, which direct influence capability and trend to functionalize polymer materials. It is urgently required to further investigate physics and chemistry of the micro-process. Since 2000, we have been focused on polymer composites micro-processing and physics and chemistry therein. Two representative macroscopic morphologies are mainly concerned ： complex composite particles and nanoporous composite membrane. We have developed new template synthesis approaches to precisely control their macroscopic morphologies, meanwhile to assist a favorable growth and spatial distribution of desired components with soft matter （polymer gels or block copolymers） by specific interactions. The physics and chemistry during the micro-process has been elucidated.

Abstract:Abstract Silica (SiO 2 ) is one of the most promising inorganic nanofillers, and it has been widely used in the preparation of polymer nanocomposites due to its adjustable morphology, large specific surface area, and ease of functionalization. The surface modification, structural characteristics, and bonding mechanisms of SiO 2 are crucial in enhancing the overall performance of polymer nanocomposites. This review focuses on summarizing the recent progress made regarding the preparation and structure characterization methods, unique properties, and rheological behavior of SiO 2 /polymer nanocomposites. In addition, the latest applications of SiO 2 /polymer nanocomposites in coatings, smart devices, biomedicine, and environment are further explored. A comprehensive summary of the main challenges, opportunities, and perspectives regarding SiO 2 /polymer nanocomposites is also presented.

Abstract:A polymer nanofiber and its functional materials, preparation method and use thereof are provided. The polymer nanofiber is composed of core and shell which surrounds the core, or only comprises shell, the polymer nanofiber is synthesized by polymerization of monomer in the presence of initiator and solvent, and this preparation method may extensively reduce costs and be easy to carry out batch production of polymer nanotubes and core-shell nanowires. The polymer nanofiber has potential applications in organic solvent adsorption, high performance ion exchange, functional template, etc.

Abstract:Nanocomposite coatings and their potential applications are described in detail.Some results achieved in our lab are also briefly presented in systems such as high solid acrylic based polyurethane/nano-SiO2,high solid polyester based polyurethane/nano-SiO2 and waterborne polyacrylate/nano-SiO2 or nano-TiO2 nanocomposite coatings.It is found that application of nanoparticles in organic coatings is valuable for developing a series of high performance coatings.

Abstract:As a commonly used polymer material, epo xy resin and its modified composites have much wide prospect in industrial applica tion. Based on a large amount of publications, the current investigating status about epoxy based nano-composites was reviewed in this paper. The synthesizing principles and structural characteristics of epoxy based nano-composites synthe sized respectively by intercalation polymerization, directly mixing method and s ol-gel method, were briefly introduced. Simultaneously, the macroscopic propert ies of various epoxy based nano-composites were also discussed. In addition, th e further investigation and application of epoxy based nano-composites were pro posed.

Abstract:The residua oil was extracted.The obtained aromatic fractionation as reactive monomer was used to poly-condensation reaction under the benzaldehyde as cross-linking agent and paratoluenesulfonic acid as catalyst.The blending condensed poly nuclear aromatic resins(b-COPNA) of B stage pitch were obtained with the resins soft point of 110℃ and residual carbon of 60% or so.These resins were used to encapsulate the nanoparticles of SiO2,CaCO3 and montmorillonite(MMT) respectively to form core-shell structured composite particles.Its thermal stability was up to 140℃ and its performance was enhanced.As dispersion phase,the core-shell composite particles were mixed with polyethylene polymer resins forming the composite materials through melt-blending technique.Results showed that these polyethylene composite materials have higher elongation at break and bending strength than those of pure polyethylene.The TEM morphology showed that in polyethylene matrix,the particles were well dispersed and formed cavity morphology.

Abstract:The aqueous nanosilica/polyester composites were prepared by in-situ melting-thawing polymerization process,in which the polyol was grafted onto surface of nanosilica particles by ultrasonic chemical synthesizing reaction.The properties of the aqueous polyester nanocomposite resin and coating were investigated by particle size analyzer,gel-permeation chromatography(GPC),tansmission electronic microscope(TEM),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),pendulum hardness tester and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer(UV-VIS).The mechanical and optical performance were also discussed.

Abstract:The morphology, flame retardancy and non-isothermal crystallization behaviour of pure PET and poly(ethylene terephthalate)/nano-boehmite composites (PET/AlOOH) prepared in situ were characterized using several techniques. The morphology of the nanocomposites carried out using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed that the nano-boehmite particles were uniformly dispersed in the polymer matrix and formed crosslinked structures. Combustion behaviour and flammability were assessed using cone calorimetry (CONE). The results indicated that the total heat release (THR) and smoke production rate of PET/AlOOH were significantly less than those of pure PET. Study of the behaviour and kinetics of non-isothermal crystallization of pure PET and PET/AlOOH nanocomposites was accomplished by DSC analysis. The results showed that the AlOOH could act as an effective nucleation agent for the crystallization of PET, while the presence of boehmite decreased the crystallization rate and extended the time of crystallization of PET, which can be explained by the formation of partly-crosslinked structure of PET/AlOOH nanocomposites.

Abstract:Thermosetting polymer based nanocomposites with excellent mechanical and thermal properties have attracted much attention in recent years. In this paper, preparation methods of this kind of nanocomposites have been briefly introduced. Advances in nanocomposites based on thermosetting polymers including epoxy resin, phenolic resin, unsaturated polyester resin, polynaph-thoxazine resin and thermosetting polyimide resin have been systematically summarized. Conclusions that can be drawn from the literatures are presented with discussions of areas in which future research is required.

Abstract:Dispersion of carbon nano-tubes (CNT) in polypropylene (PP) and interaction between PP and CNT were key problems on the preparation of PP/CNT composites. Mechanical shear, ultrasonic method and surface functionalization were used to solve the two problems. The mechanical, electrical, crystalline, flammable and thermal properties of PP were improved by adding the CNT. The recent research progress on preparation and characterization of PP/CNT composites were reviewed.

Abstract:ZnO/PP nano-composite was prepared by means of melt blending from nano-ZnO and PP.The relationship between the mechanical and rheological properties of the nano-comosite with ZnO content was studied. ZnO/CaCO_3/PP ternary composite was also prepared,and the mechanical properties and production cost of the ternary composite was also analyzed.The results showed the MFR of ZnO/PP was improved obviously compared with that of pure PP;The addition of CaCO_3 could not only lower the production cost,but also upgraded the impact property of the blend;the tensile fracture of the composite was of tough failure.
