Abstract:In this paper the terrestrial database of Shanghai area is built up based on characteristics of the Terrestrial Dig-ital Video Broadcasting(DVB-T)by means of blocking partition.In this way the directional diagrams of Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower are calculated so that3D field strength spatial distribution and the network coverage rate are acquired.The re-sults are finally analyzed,thus giving the reference to DVB-T network to be set up in the area of Shanghai.

Abstract:With the co-efforts from Zhejiang University,Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Xidian Universi-ty,a transmission scheme of the Advanced Digital Television Broadcasting System(ADTB)is presented in this paper.The simulated system functions and performance are superior to that of international DTV transmission standards.A stable fixed,portable and even mobile reception of large volume broadcasting data can be attained with a consumer grade tuner and various modulation modes.The scheme is also designed to support SFN and on-channel repeater functions,to incorporate efficient digital cable transmission modes,and to be easily compatible with some foreign standards.The presented scheme is one of the ideal candidates of DTV broadcasting standards being defined in our country.[

Abstract:Due to its high spectrum efficiency, the Single Frequency Network (SFN) has been widely used in digital terrestrial multimedia broadcasting (DTMB) system, which is the Chinese national digital television terrestrial broadcasting standard. In the conventional SFN realization for DTMB, the synchronization between different transmitters in the distributed network is achieved with the second initialization packet (SIP) inserted in the MPEG-2 transport stream (TS). In this paper, a suggested SFN structure for DTMB without SIP insertion is proposed. The performance is shown through the simulation and Lab test results.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems such as the increase of electricity demand,the construction of a smart grid with stable transmission capacity and reasonable economy,it is proposed that the advanced 4G mobile communication technology be combined with the electric power authorization band to help build an intelligent distribution network.According to the actual requirements,SPM model is used to calibrate the wireless communication model parameters of the smart grid,and the reasonable planning of the wireless network is realized by improving the accuracy of the communication model so as to reduce the investment cost of the smart grid wireless communication.Through the evaluation and testing of the parameters of the communication model of TD-LTE230 power wireless special system and the signal strength simulation coverage,the good application effect is achieved,which lays the foundation for the modular application of wireless communication in the smart grid.

Abstract:Orthogonal frequency division multiplex-single frequency network (OFDM-SFN) has been widely used in the digital audio broadcasting system (DAB) and the terrestrial digital video broadcasting system (DVB-T) as a scheme of downlink broadcasting service. A novel system structure of single frequency cellular network (SFCN) is proposed by applying OFDM-SFN to conventional cellular systems. Transmitter macrodiversity and receiver selective diversity are adopted in the downlink and the uplink respectively. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation in comparison with conventional cellular systems demonstrate the performance improvement of the proposed system.

Abstract:Due to its high spectrum efficiency and high coverage, the SFN (single frequency network) has been used more and more widely. The article explains the basic concepts and technical features of SFN. It also introduces the SFN of the three main DTTB (digital television terrestrial broadcasting) standards (the 8-VSB modulation system developed by ATSC, DVB-T and ISDB-T). A new implementation of SFN is also proposed based on DMB-T (digital multimedia broadcasting for terrestrial). It realizes the time synchronization of all transmitters in the SFN by means of the insertion of a megaframe initialization packet (MIP) in the MPEG-2 transport stream. This method is proved to be reliable through field experiments.

Abstract:This chapter discusses the issues of coverage and network planning of DTV terrestrial broadcasting networks and gives a detailed introduction of single-frequency networks (SFNs). For analog TV signal transmission, distortion due to nonperfect channel and system nonlinearity always exists, while in DTTB systems, these errors might be corrected by FEC, and the original information bit sequence can be correctly restored. When broadcasting network planning is performed, the position of the transmitter is determined based on certain criteria, such as the largest possible population coverage, the minimum cochannel interference, environmental factors, and economic factors. Also, the interference from the DTTB system to analog TV services should be less than the mutual interference among analog TV systems. Some countries have decided to offset the center frequency of DTV signals to reduce the impact from the analog signals when doing DTTB system frequency planning.

Abstract:Single frequency network (SFN) has been widely used in digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTTB) systems. In this paper, we propose a SFN structure for DTMB systems using satellite links as the main program distribution networks. The proposed structure is more suitable for constructing national wide or large area DTTB SFN under complicated environments. The network structure and key technologies of the proposed SFN are analyzed detailedly in this paper. Laboratory tests and field trials are presented to prove the validity of the network design. Experiment results indicate that the proposed scheme can support practical DTTB applications.

Abstract:Wireless network planning is a key component for TD-LTE system deployment. In this paper, we investigate the wireless network planning method for a railway TD-LTE system. This evaluation is based on an actual TD-LTE system deployment for Shuohuang railway and includes frequency planning, network capacity prediction, wireless network coverage planning and cell planning. The corresponding Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP), Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) and throughput of the Railway TD-LTE System are further evaluated by Atoll network planning software, to validate the rationality for wireless network planning in such scenarios.

Abstract:A novel structure of single frequency cellular network (SFCN) was proposed to improve the performance of traditional GSM (global system for mobile communication) by applying the technique of OFDM-based single frequency network to GSM. In the downlink, adjacent three base stations worked as a macro-diversity to form a single frequency cell and broadcast downlink data to mobile stations. In the uplink, selective diversity was used to select the base station in the best receiving condition to receive uplink data. Simulation results showed that in the proposed system, handoff requests in the process of mobility were decreased, that both call blocking probability and call dropping probability were reduced, while system capacity was increased.

Abstract:The design of High Speed Railway Television (HSRT) system is presented in this paper. The system mainly includes two aspects, the coverage network and the modulation/demodulation technique. We suggest the deployment of HSRT single frequency network (SFN) taking GSM-R as reference and Advanced Digital Television Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ADTB-T) as demodulation technique (it is why HSRT is also called ADTB-R). Moreover, to ensure the reliable work of ADTB-T under the special environment of HSRT-SFN, directional coverage diversity receiving technique are proposed to simplify the equivalent channel model. The validity of this scheme is verified by theoretical analysis and also laboratory tests. The experimental network including the trial testing environment and equipment which constitute the network infrastructure of HSRT-SFN are described. The trial test results are presented to verify the validity of the network design which based on the directional coverage and diversity receiver. The test results accord with the theoretical analysis and prove that the HSRT-SFN is well suited for the special application of high speed railway television.

Abstract:The single frequency network structure based on terrestrial digital multimedia/ television broadcasting(DMB-T was implemented by synchronizing each signal frame in real time.A mega-frame initialization packet(MIP inserted in the transport stream(TS every mega-frame contains information on the network delay and synchronization stamp.A simple calculation gives the local additional delay which will allow synchronization of all the transmitters in the network.Field trials of the single frequency network validate the feasibility of scheme based on DMB-T.

One structure, named as urban-rural dual structure, is emphasized in the future broadcasting system, especially in those developing countries, such as China, Russia, and Brazil.
