Abstract:We prove several formulas related to Hodge theory and the Kodaira–Spencer–Kuranishi deformation theory of Kähler manifolds. As applications, we present a construction of globally convergent power series of integrable Beltrami differentials on Calabi–Yau manifolds and also a construction of global canonical family of holomorphic (n,0) -forms on the deformation spaces of Calabi–Yau manifolds. Similar constructions are also applied to the deformation spaces of compact Kähler manifolds.

Abstract:Certain classical results on cluster sets and boundary cluster sets of analytic functions, due to Iversen, Lindelöf, Noshiro, Tsuji, Ohtsuka, Pommerenke, Carmona, Cufi and others, are extended to n-dimensional quasiconformal mappings. Unlike what is usually the case in the context of analytic functions, our considerations are not restricted to mappings of a disk or ball only. It is shown, for instance, that quasiconformal cluster sets and boundary cluster sets, taken at a non-isolated boundary point of an arbitrary domain, coincide. More refined versions are established in the special case where the domain is the open unit ball. These include cluster set considerations of the induced radial boundary extension and results where certain exceptional sets on the boundary are allowed for.

Abstract:We explore the interplay between different definitions of distortion for mappings $f\colon X\to \mathbb{R}^2$, where $X$ is any metric surface, meaning that $X$ is homeomorphic to a domain in $\mathbb{R}^2$ and has locally finite 2-dimensional Hausdorff measure. We establish that finite distortion in terms of the familiar analytic definition always implies finite distortion in terms of maximal and minimal stretchings along paths. The converse holds for maps with locally integrable distortion. In particular, we prove the equivalence of various notions of quasiconformality, implying a novel uniformization result for metric surfaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a class of vanishing Carleson measures with conformal invariance and corresponding strongly vanishing symmetric homeomorphisms on the real line and prove that they can be mutually generated under quasiconformal mappings. This is motivated by constructing a nice VMO-Teichmuller space on the real line, which completely removes the obstacle of the usual VMO-Teichmuller space that lacks conformal invariance and is repeatedly encountered in the papers [17,22-24].

Abstract:In this paper we study quasiconformal curves which are a special case of quasiregular curves. Namely embeddings $\Omega\rightarrow\mathbb{R}^m$ from some domain $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n$ to $\mathbb{R}^m$, where $n\leq m$, which belong in a suitable Sobolev class and satisfy a certain distortion inequality for some smooth, closed and non-vanishing $n$-form in $\mathbb{R}^m$. These mappings can be seen as quasiconformal mappings between $\Omega$ and $f(\Omega)$. We prove that a quasiconformal curve always satisfies the analytic definition of quasiconformal mappings and the lower half of the modulus inequality. Moreover, we give a sufficient condition for a quasiconformal curve to satisfy the metric definition of quasiconformal mappings. We also show that a quasiconformal map from $\Omega$ to $f(\Omega)\subset \mathbb{R}^m$ is a quasiconformal $\omega$ curve for some form $\omega$ under suitable assumptions. Finally, we show the same is true when we equip the target space $f(\Omega)$ with its intrinsic metric instead of the Euclidean one.

Quaternionic projective invariance of the k-Cauchy-Fueter complex and applications I

Abstract:The k-Cauchy-Fueter complex in quaternionic analysis is the counterpart of the Dolbeault complex in complex analysis. In this paper, we find the explicit transformation formula of these complexes under SL(n+1,ℍ), which acts on ℍ^ n as quaternionic fractional linear transformations. These transformation formulae have several interesting applications to k-regular functions, the quaternionic counterpart of holomorphic functions, and geometry of domains. They allow us to construct the k-Cauchy-Fueter complex over locally projective flat manifolds explicitly and introduce various notions of pluripotential theory on this kind of manifolds. We also introduce a quaternionic projectively invariant operator from the quaternionic Monge-Ampère operator, which can be used to find projectively invariant defining density of a domain, generalizing Fefferman's construction in complex analysis.

Abstract:This paper discusses the distortion properties of the Nehari class in a more general situation, and obtains some important distortion properties of these functions and their derivatives. The authors also discuss the quasiconformal extensions of the class and obtain an explicit quasiconformal extension.

Abstract:The relationship between Strebel boundary dilatation of a quasisymmetric function h of the unit circle and the dilatation indicated by the change in the modules of the quadrilaterals with vertices on the circle intrigues many mathematicians. It had been a conjecture for some time that the dilatations K 0 ( h ) and K 1 ( h ) of h are equal before Anderson and Hinkkanen disproved this by constructing concrete counterexamples. The independent work of Wu and of Yang completely characterizes the condition for K 0 ( h ) = K 1 ( h ) when h has no substantial boundary point. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition to determine the equality for h admitting a substantial boundary point.

Abstract:The origin of quasiconformal mappings, like that of conformal mappings, can be traced back to old cartography where the basic problem was the search for mappings from the sphere onto the plane with minimal deviation from conformality, subject to certain conditions which were made precise. In this paper, we survey the development of cartography, highlighting the main ideas that are related to quasiconformality. Some of these ideas were completely ignored in the previous historical surveys on quasiconformal mappings. We then survey early quasiconformal theory in the works of Grötzsch, Lavrentieff, Ahlfors and Teichmüller, which are the 20th-century founders of the theory. The period we consider starts with Claudius Ptolemy (c. 100--170 A.D.) and ends with Oswald Teichmüller (1913--1943). We mention the works of several mathematicians-geographers done in this period, including Euler, Lagrange, Lambert, Gauss, Chebyshev, Darboux and others. We highlight in particular the work of Nicolas-Auguste Tissot (1824--1897), a French mathematician and geographer who (according to our knowledge) was the first to introduce the notion of a mapping which transforms infinitesimal circles into infinitesimal ellipses, studying parameters such as the ratio of the major to the minor axes of such an infinitesimal ellipse, its area divided by the area of the infinitesimal circle of which it is the image, and the inclination of its axis with respect to a fixed axis in the plane. We also give some information about the lives and works of Grötzsch, Lavrentieff, Ahlfors and Teichmüller. The latter brought the theory of quasiconformal mappings to a high level of development. He used it in an essential way in his investigations of Riemann surfaces and their moduli and in function theory (in particular, in his work on the Bieberbach conjecture and the type problem). We survey in detail several of his results. We also discuss some aspects of his life and writings, explaining why his papers were not read and why some of his ideas are still unknown even to Teichmüller theorists. Abstract:Applying the Fedosov connections constructed in our previous work, we find a (dense) subsheaf of smooth functions on a Kähler manifold $X$ which admits a non-formal deformation quantization. When $X$ is prequantizable and the Fedosov connection satisfies an integrality condition, we prove that this subsheaf of functions can be quantized to a sheaf of twisted differential operators (TDO), which is isomorphic to that associated to the prequantum line bundle. We also show that examples of such quantizable functions are given by images of quantum moment maps.

Abstract:In this paper we give a short survey on a problem on extremal quasiconformal extensions. It had been a conjecture for a long time that the dilatations K 0 ( h ) and K 1 ( h ) are equal before Anderson and Hinkkanen disproved this by constructing concrete examples of a family of affine mappings of some parallelograms. The problem also engendered many interesting results. At the end of the current paper, we discuss relationships among K 0 ( h ), H ( h ) and K 1 ( h ) as a concluding remark.
Linear distortion and rescaling for quasiregular values

Abstract:Sobolev mappings exhibiting only pointwise quasiregularity-type bounds have arisen in various applications, leading to a recently developed theory of quasiregular values. In this article, we show that by using rescaling, one obtains a direct bridge between this theory and the classical theory of quasiregular maps. More precisely, we prove that a non-constant mapping $f \colon \Omega \to \mathbb{R}^n$ with a $(K, \Sigma)$-quasiregular value at $f(x_0)$ can be rescaled at $x_0$ to a non-constant $K$-quasiregular mapping. Our proof of this fact involves establishing a quasiregular values -version of the linear distortion bound of quasiregular mappings. A quasiregular values variant of the small $K$ -theorem is obtained as an immediate corollary of our main result.

Abstract:The notion of non-decreasable dilatation for quasiconformal mappings, which was introduced by Edgar Reich, plays an important role in the theory of extremal quasiconformal mappings. It is an interesting open problem so far whether an extremal quasiconformal mapping with non-decreasable dilatation exists in every Teichmüller equivalence class. In this paper, we have partially solved this problem. It is proved that for every Teichmüller equivalence class [f], there exists an extremal quasiconformal mapping g in [f] with weakly non-decreasable dilatation.
