Abstract:As the information technology developed,enterprises increase their request for the information storage. New requests include the storage ability and the shared storage. It is the first concerned matter that how to use network to provide better service for the information storage. Abstract:Rapid increase of campus network data in colleges leads to the continuous increase of server,which results in low use ratio of servers,complicated safety maintenance and data backup of the system and increase of administrative cost.Taking specific college campus network as an example,this paper discusses application of virtualization technology in campus network management based on analysis of current situation of campus network topology and application server.Based on that,it puts forward scheme of virtualized integration of existing servers.Application practice shows that campus network management with virtualization technology can increase use ratio of server resources,reduce data maintenance cost and improve management and operation level of campus network effectively.

Abstract:Network storage is a key technology in information society.The network storage technology and its application were discussed. The background of the network storage application was analyzed. The characteristic of traditional storage technology DAS was analyzed. The limitation of the DAS was illustrated. The characteristic of two leading types of the network storage technology, NAS and SAN, were discussed. The advantages of NAS and SAN compared to traditional storage technology were analyzed. The uniform trend of NAS and SAN was pointed out. Comparison of DAS, NAS and SAN was giver. Future research directions of network storage were pointed out.

Abstract:Storage area network (SAN) is a new network storage architecture. It meets the need of mass data storage and high-speed data transmission through the centralization storage management and employing fibre channel (FC) as the transmission protocol. It has better performance,reliability and expandability than traditional direct attached storage (DAS) mode and is becoming an important research aspect in data storage field. This paper introduces the features of SAN,then presents a practical SAN architecture. Its performance testing is carried out and some useful conclusions about transmission performance and optimization design in practical applications are put forward.

Abstract:the storage infrastructure is the foundation on which information relies and therefore must support a company's business objectives and business model. In this environment, simply deploying more and faster storage devices is not enough; a new kind of infrastructure is needed, one that provides more enhanced network availability, data accessibility, and system manageability than is provided by today's infrastructure. The SAN meets this challenge. The SAN liberates the storage device, so it is not on a particular server bus, and attaches it directly to the network. In other words, storage is externalized and functionally distributed across the organization. The SAN also enables the centralizing of storage devices and the clustering of servers, which makes for easier and less expensive administration. So the idea is to create an intelligent SAN infrastructure that stretches to meet increased demands, allows highly available and heterogeneous access to expanding information.

Abstract:This paper reviewed two types of network storage technique: NAS and SAN. After comparing and ana-lyzing, it concluded that the ultimate realization of network storage will be in the eventual convergence of NAS andSAN architectures. Currently, all the integration methods are based on the architecture level. This paper present-ed a device-level integration scheme based on IXP1200 network processor. The device can be used as an NAS fileserver or an SAN's storage node. Furthermore, it can be used as a bridge to connect NAS and SAN, and then beshared by their clients.

Abstract:With the increasing demand for vast storage repositories, network storage has become important for mass data storage and processing, telescopic addressing and availability, and the quality of service and security of data storage. This situation demands the emergence of new technology in the data storage field. In this paper, TH-MSNS, a SAN system, is introduced. This system was designed and implemented based on the Fiber Channel Protocol and its I/O route was tested. This paper introduces some of the key techniques in the network storage system, including an SCSI simulating target, intelligent and uniform storage management architecture, and the processing flow of the read/write commands. The software for the new storage area network system was implemented as a module in the kernel mode to improve its efficiency. The SCSI target adopts a layered design and standardized interface, which is compatible with various types of SCSI devices and can use different network protocols. The storage management software adopts distributed architecture, which enables higher interoperability and compatibility with various kinds of management protocols. TH-MSNS boasts characteristics such as high adaptability, high efficiency, high scalability, and high compatibility and is easy to maintain.

Abstract:The infrastructure of SAN is complex, and finding a proper method to analyze and manage the performance of it in an efficient and economical way is very important for SAN performance management. This paper proposes an analytic method for performance management of SAN system, the way to apply the method, and illustrates the method by analyzing a living example. The comparison of analysis and experiment results shows that they are in agreement. So we can consider this method a sound solution for the performance management or control of SAN.

Abstract:The current study about lock schemes in SAN is summarized and it is concluded that distributing mutex information to shared disk and related nodes is the promising direction in the future. A new data structure named reticulation is presented to solve the problem that an existing distributed lock scheme has low efficiency in transferring messages among nodes in which it uses double linked lists to organize all the nodes in SAN. Reticulation structure's algorithms of adding and deletting nodes and its design of fault tolerance are given and their performance analyses are done. A simulation model is also implemented to prove the conclusions. What is more, the reticulation structure can also be used in applications in which messages need to be broadcasted and the information of nodes is distributed.

Abstract:The article gives the method of implement and the critical technologies of how to implement FC SAN storage system based on standard open hardwares. Firstly, it specifies architecture and I/O path of the FC SAN storage system. Secondly, it demonstrates how to implement the FC interface card s target driver and I/O process, and the SCSI command process procedure of SAN storage system. It also demonstrates the technologies of high availability of FC SAN storage system: failover mechanism. All results of test show that the FC SAN storage system is a high performance s FC SAN storage system.

Abstract:Problem of storage space sharing conflict is the key problem of SAN management. To resolve it, two basic methods of distributed and center-controlled are given based on analysing its generating reason and representation. FC3HPN (fibre channel center-controlled high performance network) is given and realized with the center-controlled network file system, three party transfer and software RAID. The performance of the system is very high and metadata sharing is realized for the first time.

Abstract:Because of the limitations of DAS (Directly Attached Storage), network storage methods (e.g. FC-SAN) with virtual storage technology have been replacing DAS in digital libraries and other massive storage applications. But in some cases, FC-SAN may perform no better than sharing data on LAN. This paper highlights some criteria and gives recommendations for data placement and access path selection, for a storage system of co-existing FCSAN and DAS.
