Abstract:To reduce the computational amount and memory size of the HDTV(for DVB) audio decoder, the algorithm of sub-band synthesis filter has been optimized in this paper. Based on C-language simulation of the optimized decoder, fixed-point code has been converted from the floating-point code. This decoder can be realized in real-time on a fixed-point DSP, and it has a wide range of applications in HDTV source decoding and etc.

Abstract:Hard disk STB(HDSTB) takes the marvelous and commonly-used digital recording carrier(hard disk) as the storage target,providing a new way of watching TV programs,to a certain extend realizing the interactive function of TV programs.This paper gives a detailed exposition on the key technology of the management system of files in hard disk.The design of the private file management system is analyzed.Some difficulties in the process of digital recoding is pointed out and resolved.

Abstract:Interactive television (ITV) as a new form of TV programs has become a direction of broadcast trade development, at the same time the study of the interactive set-top-box has become the focus recently. This paper introduces an interactive set-top-box system. Firstly, the hardware and software architectures of the system are introduced generally, then several key parts of the system are described in detail. The system has been gone into testing in the CCTV's interactive television broadcasting project, and meets the anticipative design requests.

Abstract:This paper presents a hardware efficient high definition television (HDTV) encoder for H.264/AVC. We use a two-level mode decision (MD) mechanism to reduce the complexity and maintain the performance, and design a sharable architecture for normal mode fractional motion estimation (NFME), special mode fractional motion estimation (SFME), and luma motion compensation (LMC), to decrease the hardware cost. Based on these technologies, we adopt a four-stage macro-block pipeline scheme using an efficient memory management strategy for the system, which greatly reduces on-chip memory and bandwidth requirements. The proposed encoder uses about 1126k gates with an average Bjontegaard-Delta peak signal-to-noise ratio (BD-PSNR) decrease of 0.5 dB, compared with JM15.0. It can fully satisfy the real-time video encoding for 1080p@30 frames/s of H.264/AVC high profile.

Abstract:The paper describes a DVB based HDTV audio decoder used in multi-channel extension and presents an improved algorithm for the synthesis filter bank. It is found that when the symmetry of coefficient and the similarity of the allocation tables, computational amount and memory size are reduced by more than 50%. DSP/BIOS operating system simplifies developing various DSP systems. This decoder can also be used in Digital Audio Broadcasting systems.

Abstract:With the co-efforts from Zhejiang University,Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Xidian Universi-ty,a transmission scheme of the Advanced Digital Television Broadcasting System(ADTB)is presented in this paper.The simulated system functions and performance are superior to that of international DTV transmission standards.A stable fixed,portable and even mobile reception of large volume broadcasting data can be attained with a consumer grade tuner and various modulation modes.The scheme is also designed to support SFN and on-channel repeater functions,to incorporate efficient digital cable transmission modes,and to be easily compatible with some foreign standards.The presented scheme is one of the ideal candidates of DTV broadcasting standards being defined in our country.[

Abstract:A set-top-box software module supporting Timeshifting TV service was designed and implemented.Based on server-side cache of broadcasting content,timeshifting function was implemented through set-top-box application layer protocol that controlled stream delivery of media server.The software approach eliminates the hardware dependency and lowers the cost of set-top-box,and the timeshifting software module can easily be integrated into any third-party set-top-box.The results of experimental business management prove that the proposed scheme can greatly reduce the cost of large-scale system deployment and works in various kinds of set-top-box.

Abstract:This paper presents the implementation of a new test and analysis platform that the authors have developed for testing transport stream of HDTV system. This platform can exchange the data with the tested moulds in high speed though PCI bus. With the using of the multi-thread scheduling algorithm in the structure, this platform can carry out simple real-time analysis of transport stream. In some cases, this platform can also be used to deal with the more complex and sophisticated off-line transport stream analysis. The platform allows real time diagnose, which can't be implemented by traditional video testing tools, of HDTV transport stream. The platform also includes DVB. This platform has been applied in video encoder subproject of China's HDTV project.
