Abstract:The design of system for video order program base on LAN is introduced in this paper. How orders program and information in the program database using VOD technique is explained . The user obtains multimedia freely automatically, and chooses video program at will.

Abstract:It's easy to build a centralized VOD server in a LAN, which is easy to manage but is difficult to extend. But in the WAN, VOD is not yet widely implemented. The biggest obstacle is the lack of server bandwidth that can handle the large amounts of video data. A distributed VOD server is brought forward that is easy to extend so as to serve more concurrent customers and provide more programs, and the expansibility in these aspects is discussed: the architecture, communication based on CORBA, load balance and storage tech- nology. Experiments show that the VOD server is suitable for use both in LAN and WAN.

Abstract:This paper introduces a Video on Demand system based on both CATV broadcasting channels and IP interactive network. CATV broadcasting channels are used for content transmission and IP network is used for control information transmission between Set Top Box and Headend Server. The control mechanism of whole system is designed and implemented according to DSM-CC protocol stacks. The paper narrates the end-to-end system diagram and VoD application software of Set Top Box. The system can be used in CATV network and provide VoD services for CATV subscribers.

Abstract:The mesh-based multicast is widely used because of its stability, easy operability and robustness, but the tactic of high fluency and low latency have always been a challenge of VOD technology. Focusing on how to design a VOD system with high fluency and low latency, the three typical BitTorrent-based VOD solutions of Bass, Bitos and Give-to-Get, and common performance evaluation methods of BitTorrent-based VOD system are compared and studied. The problems encountered and possible solutions in the process of BitTorrent-based VOD system optimization are summarized.

Abstract:Presently,the method of server-customer extensively applied in streaming service cannot meet the increasing demand of application of multi media and the implementation of some existent technology needs big adjustment of cadre of network.The spreading way of P2P offers a better solution to achieve mass multicast in network.It introduces arithmetic of adding and quitting,which reduce the infection of single node for the whole network.Meanwhile,to address the problem of interval in some P2P transfers system,it uses the method of core shift,changing the topology structure of dispensing tree of media dynamically,trying its best to reduce the distance between node and core in network,controlling the average interval and keeping the media broadcasting online steadily and continuously.

Abstract:With the prevalence of VoD,it is a practical issue to build a scalable VoD with PC server to handle high concurrent multimedia stream. This article brings forward a LVS method to support high concurrent stream. What's more, combining with SAN technology, it can resolve the problem of huge storage as well as shared storage, and thus greatly improve the systems' performance. Also, the whole system is scalable.

Abstract:Using P2P network to provide video on demand (VOD) service can support large-scale users so as to save the bandwidth cost of servers. As VOD must support VCR characters (drag, pause, randomly choosing watching position, etc.), building a large-scale expansion of high-performance VOD system still faces huge challenges. The paper first presents a P2P based reference model, defines the design object, and analyzes the difficulties. And then taking PPLive demand system as an example, it gives client-based solutions, including disk cache-out strategy, memory cache prefetch strategy, maintaining relations between neighbors, task scheduling, data upload strategies and so on. PPLive-demand systems are putting into practice at present with satisfactory fluency and drag delay. The largest number of simultaneous online users is over 210000, and online video data is over 700. Compared with traditional client-server model, the average bandwidth saving rate of servers is 88% or more, and the bandwidth saving rate of user-number’s the peak value can be up to 93%.

Abstract:With the popularity and development of commercial VOD(video on demand ) system, the traditional commercial VOD system based on "client-server" mode has many problems in operation, upgrade, management and maintenance. Therefore, a new solution to commercial VOD system based on Industry-specific cloud is proposed in order to solve these problems and the system has been implemented. The feasibility of the solution and the performance of the system has been tested by actual project testing and performance analysis. The experimental results show that the system can solve the problems of the traditional system and meet industrystandards.

Abstract:A design method of VDM(Video Digital Mixer) based on Ethernet communication protocol was introduced,which not only superimposed characters and graphics on input video signal,but also communicated with the computer through Ethernet.The VDM equipment could provide higher communication speed and longer communication distance than the previous ones.Every set of the VDM equipment has unique IP address in the local area network,which can be recognized and parallel controlled by the computer.

Abstract:VCR functionality is difficult to be implemented in a P2P VoD system, since it may give more server workload and fails some distribution paths. In this paper, we first analyze the user behavior of VCR interaction, and propose a video segmentation-aided P2P VoD System with VCR functionality. Abstract:Video-on-demand (VoD) service on the Internet has been surprisingly popular during these years. And it is being greatly enhanced by the emergence and maturation of both the peer-to-peer (P2P) schema and network coding (NC) technology. P2P-based solution can make VoD systems obtain high scalability. The introduction of network coding improves the content distributing efficiency of the system. Meanwhile, digital video cassette recording (VCR) functionality provides users more freedom to choose playback mode while viewing video-clips. Designed a video segmentation-aided VCR support for P2P VoD system without network coding; and in ,we designed a P2P VoD system with scene-segmentation and network coding, which is called SonicVoD. In this paper, we will place our detailed design for SonicVoD and introduce some extensions for it.
