Abstract:Asia is a hot infrastructure investment area in the world.China is one of the most active infrastructure investment areas in Asia.The economic development of China is based on the ability of local construction committees'effective infrastructure development and management.Supported by the World Bank and Tianjin Construction Committee,Tianjin urban infrastructure integrated management information system(UIIMIS) has been successfully developed.In the paper,the organization of Tianjin Construction Committee is introduced.The existing problems for Tianjin Construction Committee to develop and manage urban infrastructure projects are analyzed in the view of project lifecycle integration management.The requirement for UIIMIS is deeply investigated.The rules for the setting up of UIIMIS are determined.The function planning of UIIMIS is provided.Finally,the steps and methods for the development of UIIMIS are given.

Abstract:It is a certain tendency that construction should integrate with IT in the development of construction industry. Influenced by this tendency, the present paper is an attempt to establish a workflow management system for construction design project through the application of workflow technology. To make this workflow management system deal well with construction modeling, emulating and optimizing, task planning and distributing, automatic tracking and monitoring, as well as network service etc., this paper analyzes the module composition of the system and the function of each module, so that both information integration and process integration can be realized under the function of the whole system. In this way, the automatic management of building design project is brought into being. Copyright © 2005 IAHS.

Abstract:State-of-the-art and tendency of Web-Based Project information Management Systems(WPMS) were summarized in order to lay a sound foundation for developing a WPMS that fits the condition of China.Large amount of literature were investigated,and related analysis,comparison,classification and summarization were carried out.Regarding to WPMS,the origin,evolution,definition,architecture and key technique were classified and summarized.Three typical systems,including Autodesk's Buzzsaw,BuildOnline's ProjectsOnline and the EPIMS developed by the authors,were presented for illustration.Based on the mentioned works,three tendencies of WPMS were summarized: first,it will support the multiple participants in the construction phase to collaborate by using the shop drawings;second,it will support the usage of photos and videos for the collaboration among the multiple parties;and third,it will support the utilization of the project information by the multiple parties.

Abstract:This paper introduced the functional module composition of Zhejiang Provincial Water Conservancy Management Information System, and analyzed the database structure and logic relations of the system. The paper also discussed the characteristics of main developing tools and operational platform. The applications of the system in Zhejiang provincial governmental offices and other administrative departments show that the system has advanced design, powerful functions, high stability and good practicability.

Abstract:Building information model(BIM) plays more and more important roles in construction engineering field.BIM-based information integrated management has become the focus research in this field.Based on the analysis of shortcomings of the traditional construction project document management system in information retrieval and knowledge reuse,this paper proposed an integrated construction project document management system in the environment of BIM and discussed the necessity and feasibility.A framework for BIM-based construction project document management system is proposed to improve the text information integration method.This framework provided a reference to realize the design of BIM-based construction project document management system for the Chinese text.

Abstract:In order to improve theoretical vacancy and methods obsolete of construction project information management,the paper builds construction project information management platform (CPIMP) based on smart construction theory. By analyzing conception and support system of smart construction theory,framework of smart construction theory is proposed. Application and integration of emerging information technologies within smart construction theory are analyzed such as BIM,internet of things,ubiquitous computing and 4D visualization. On this basis,CPIMP is designed,after reframing processes of construction project information management. Framework,network topology and functional structure of CPIMP are put forward. The research provides operation tools and means for smart construction theory,and has very important theoretical and practical significance to construction industry informationization and construction project information management in China.

Abstract:With the increasing scale of construction projects, coupled with their complexity, information management in the construction process becomes more complex and trivial. Moreover, the communication among project participants is hindered by the large amount and scattered structure of the information involved in the construction process. Most present studies on the information management of construction focus on the special needs of construction sectors rather than a total information integration of general aspects. This paper presents a multidimensional information model that combines Workflow, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Time factor to manage information based on process control. Unlike previous researches, the present work puts emphasis on process control to enhance the communication process. The proposed information model uses the WBS and Time factor to manage information in the spatial and time dimension and control the process information of each work package during project execution through the workflow technology. In order to test the proposed information model, a web-based project management system (WPMS) was developed using the three layer architecture. The system structure realizes the invisible logic of the information model through the business logic layer and the data access layer. The system has been applied to a construction project of an underground cavern group in a hydropower project in the southwest of China. The application has shown that it achieves managing information based on process control and provides structured information.

Abstract:Based on the actual demand of BIM application in engineering project management, a new integrated solution and framework for engineering project management supported by BIM was advanced. Web-based system for project integrated management was developed through associating BIM entity with distributed information and information querying. With seamless integration with 4D construction management system, Bi-directional links between BIM model and management information were built, enabling BIM-based engineering project management. This research provide a new method and technology for applying BIM in engineering construction, application results proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the solution and system.

Abstract:Metro construction process is a complicated process , involving multi-dimensional information likeschedule、cost、quality and safety .
