Abstract:'Broadband China' strategy launched in 2014 aimed to expand information infrastructure coverage of Chinese cities. This study shows that the information infrastructure facilitates knowledge diffusion among pilot cities of 'Broadband China', using this as a quasi-natural experiment. Further analysis reveals a positive interaction effect between information and transportation infrastructure on intercity knowledge diffusion. These findings imply that developing information infrastructure is vital for technological innovation.

Abstract:This paper proposes the concept of intelligent wireless access plus multi-network integration, and researches a broadband short-range wireless access solution with ability to access multi-network. Firstly the system architecture is illustrated, then design and development of the embedded gateway are discussed in detail. The gateway solves the problems of wireless access and interconnection within multi-type wireless endpoints and multi-network, and implements the function of internal voice and data communications stably.

Abstract:Digital home networks, an important communications branch, have been developing rapidly in recent years. Digital home network architecture based on telecommunication networks has been standardized in China. However, only the wireless access mode has been defined for access to digital home networks. How to establish wireless digital home networks is a research focus in the future. This paper proposes the concept of ubiquitous access to wireless digital home networks, and presents architecture of the wireless ubiquitous access network. Moreover, it analyzes the key techniques for implementing wireless ubiquitous access, including cognitive radio, wireless mesh, link transfer mechanism of generic access points, QoS guarantee mechanism, and Electromagnic Compatibility (EMC) and co-existence of heterogeneous systems.

Abstract:Nowadays, the broadband residential access infrastructure remains one of the major research areas for NGN (next generation network). Apart from popular ADSL (asymmetrical digital subscriber loop), HFC (hybrid fiber-coax) and APON (ATM passive optical network), academic communities and industry are increasingly showing great concern about Ethernet technique in the subscriber access network. This paper investigates the substantial differences among the generic broadband residential access techniques and allows a comprehensive understanding of them. The authors survey the generic broadband residential access techniques and present a comparative study on the emerging residential Ethernet-based access solutions with the ADSL, HFC, and APON techniques based on multiplex methods and transport technologies in terms of network architecture, service and traffic models, and QoS (quality of service) provisioning. The comparative study is of benefit to research and implementation of the future broadband residential access infrastructure.

Abstract:This paper presents a project of an intelligent home system based on the Internet of Things. The proposed system provides various convenient services for residents and constructs a network with every single intelligent home node. In this paper, firstly, an intelligent home gateway is described in detail. A number of home sensors, based on Zigbee technology, can be deployed in the house. Various intelligent appliances can be controlled remotely. Secondly, a framework of system server, which is responsible for clients' requests with load balancing technology, is comprehensively explained. Thirdly, Hypertext Transport Protocol (HTTP) and Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) were used to transmit data. Finally, the design and implementation of client software are presented.

Abstract:According to the construction condition of the communication network in small towns, a network platform "Uniting Multi-net as One" which is suitable for small towns is designed in this paper. The whole technique structure of the platform includes core net, connection net and the customer station net. Because the different towns with the different economic conditions may choose different networks, this paper gives two kinds of typical topology structures of the network and their constructing schemes. The constructing schemes not only incarnate the tone, picture, data, multimedia, ER connection business, various value-added and intelligence business but only incarnate the interpenetrating native operations between built network system and long distance net of every operator.
