Abstract:The method and steps of making "Cell Engineering Experiment" multimedia CAI system were presented.The design and realization method for the main menu of this system based on accessibility framework model menu of Authoring software was described.The techniques of the video editing,video compression,dubbing and package of multimedia teaching software were also discussed.It may provide valuable reference for the making of multimedia teaching software in higher education.

Abstract:In recent years,Chinese universities made a big step in construction of Web-based courses.However,such problems as gap between theory and practice were quite obvious in Chinese practice of Web-based course design.This study aims to use a case study to explore the key factors that characterize high quality Web-based course.The selected course,named <Advanced Methods in Distance Education>,was taught by Dr.Dooley,who is from Texas A&M University.Characteristic analysis of the course found that such key aspects as management platform,instructional design,interaction design,performance assessment,and learning support contribute to its success.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the information technology, the application of computers in the field of the education makes computers rapidly become the most promising teaching media and teaching management tool. The computer-aided instruction (CAI) is a new technology that applies the computer technology to the field of education. In this form of teaching, computers present the teaching objectives and the teaching priorities and difficulties through various kinds of the teaching software, record students’ learning situations, control students’ learning progress and other information, and complete certain learning and teaching tasks. The establishment of a Web-based CAI system fundamentally changes the basic shortcomings of the poor resource sharing and the inadequate interaction in the traditional teaching methods, and provides more advanced technical means for our teaching.

Abstract:Web-based assistant teaching system is a virtual teaching environment built by the use of computer and network technology. It completes the system with the uses of B/S three-tier architecture, ASP.NET technology and SQL Server as its background database. Base on requirements analysis in network teaching of Cangzhou medical college, it designs the access control of the system with the user-task-role ideology. The system functions into administrator space, teacher space, student space, and teaching interactive space. This paper states the functions in detail.

Abstract:It is an inexorable trend to use multimedia computer assisted instruction (CAI) for education. Being aimed at the multimedia education in the coarse of power plant, the utilization of a new virtual reality technology QTVR for instructing the said coarse has been discussed. Pa noramic image and scene can be established to regard the entire thermal power plant as a concrete object. And browsing the said image and scene with a web browser via intranet/internet, providing the learners with a virtual scene, obtaining perfect teaching effect as in the field. All these open a new way for remote learning about the coarse of power plant.

Abstract:The application of computers in teaching experienced a course from programmed instruction to computer assisted instruction(CAI).Currently,it is developing from intelligent computer assisted instruction(ICAI)to adaptive learning support(ALS).Because ICAI system over emphasizes indealized instruction,it is difficult to overcome the contradictions between technology realization and application effect for many years.ALS system both exerts the advantage of ICAI system and pays attention to the adaptive support for learning,which is a research hotspot of the current cyber learning platform intellectualization.As a cross research field,CAI should pay attention to learn from the new idea,new technology and new method of other disciplines,taking the cognitive theory of multimedia learning as its guiding ideology.

Abstract:This work is made in the hope of providing relevant information that would be useful for future developers of web courses. With hands-on experience in implementing IP&A-Web, an online course system for "Image Processing and Analysis", the authors have commented on a number of current developmental tools for web course. The results helped to make each implementation of demonstrating components in IP&A-Web falling into one of three categories: Flash Movies, Java Applets and ActiveX Controls. An evaluation study weighing the pros and cons of these three kinds of components, in terms of computational power and runtime flexibility as well as access security and stability, within IP&A-Web is carried out. Finally, the performance of each category is also compared in a quantitative manner using developed course materials.
