Abstract:In this paper,the various factors influencing photo catalytic activity of TiO_2 are analyzed in detail.These factors include:the properties of TiO_2itself,modifications of nano-TiO_2,the technical conditions of photo-reactive system,photocatalytic reactors ,and inducted other energy fieles ,etc.Themeasures enhancing photocatalytic activity of nano-TiO_2 are discussed.Some existing problems which are to be solved in the future study are pointed out.

Abstract:The preparation technology and the modified progress on photocatalytic properties of strontium titanate photocatalytic materials in the last decade are introduced.The development trend of SrTiO3is analyzed.The mechanism of different ways in improving photocatalytic activity of SrTiO3is described.Some progresses of SrTiO3photocatalytic material modification and the computing theory interpreting their mechanisms are introduced.It is pointed out that with the perfection of the modified progress on photocatalytic properties,constantly introducing new experimental approach combined with composite modification is the development direction of SrTiO3photocatalyst,and computational materials science will provide effective guidance.

Abstract:TiO2 has such advantages as excellent photocatalytic performance,high chemical stability, low toxicity and price. However,it only responds to UV light due to its wide forbidden band,and the electrons and holes are prone to recombination,leading to a decrease of catalytic activity and efficiency. This paper introduced the latest research progress on several main modification methods of TiO2. Surface deposition of noble metal,semiconductor composite and dye sensitization can reduce the width of the forbidden band,increase the response wavelength and make full use of the sunlight. Ion doping can make TiO2 crystal surface generate the defects,restrain the recombination of photoproduction electrons and holes,and increase the number of surface active centers. Carbon nanotube and graphene modification can improve light absorption of TiO2to the visible,extend the response range, speed up the electronic transmission,reduce the carrier recombination,and upgrade the catalytic efficiency. As a new doping material graphene has great potentials,and TiO2-based multi-components composite photocatalysts are promising to achieve better catalytic properties than single-component surface modified or doped TiO2. Finally,research progress on hydrophilic/hydrophobic surface modification of TiO2 was reviewed.

Abstract:The present research situation of photocatalysis technology and the mechanism of photocatalytic reaction of TiO2 thin film are discussed.The main factors that affect the photocatalytic activity of nano-TiO2 thin film are discussed in detail.The thickness and coating times of TiO2 thin film are regarded as having better linear relationship.The bigger the specific surface area of TiO2 thin film is,the smaller the hole and volume are,and the more uniform aperture distribution is,the higher photocatalytic activity of TiO2 is.Coupling of semiconductors can improve the separating results of charges of the system and expand the absorption spectrum of TiO2.Depositing of noble metals can promote the separating efficiency of current carriers on the surface of TiO2 thin film,which is beneficial to form more HO·.Metal ions doped enter into the crystal lattices of TiO2 can cause the defect of crystal lattices of TiO2,which restrains e-and h+ to combine,extends the life-span of current carriers,and thus,improves the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.

Abstract:While modern industry has contributed to the prosperity of an increasingly urbanized society, it has also led to serious pollution problems, with discharged wastewater and exhaust gases causing significant environmental harm. Titanium dioxide (TiO2), which is an excellent photocatalyst, has received extensive attention because it is inexpensive and able to photocatalytically degrade pollutants in an environmentally friendly manner. TiO2 has many advantages, including high chemical stability, low toxicity, low operating costs, and environmental friendliness. TiO2 is an N-order semiconductor material with a bandgap of 3.2 eV. Only when the wavelength of ultraviolet light is less than or equal to 387.5 nm can the valence band electrons obtain the energy of the photons and pass through the conduction band and form photoelectrons, while the valence band, correspondingly, forms photogenerated holes, and light in other areas will not be generated. The most common methods used to improve the photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2 involve increasing its photoresponse range and reducing photogenerated-carrier coupling. The morphology, size, and structure of a heterojunction can be altered through element doping, leading to improved photocatalytic efficiency. Mainstream methods for preparing TiO2 are reviewed in this paper, with several excellent preparation schemes for improving the photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2 introduced. TiO2 is mainly prepared using sol-gel, solvothermal, hydrothermal, anodic oxidation, microwave-assisted, CVD and PVD methods, and TiO2 nanoparticles with excellent photocatalytic properties can also be prepared. Ti-containing materials are widely used to purify harmful gases, as well as contaminants from building materials, coatings, and daily necessities. Therefore, the preparation and applications of titanium materials have become globally popular research topics.

Abstract:Recent research trends of the preparation and characterization of highly efficient titanium oxide-based photocatalysts modified by different methods are reviewed on the basis of studies done in our laboratory. Special attention is focused on the preparation and characterization of TiO2 photocatalysts such as control of the crystalline phase and morphology; the synthesis of mesoporous structured titania; and modification by nonmetal doping, transitional metal doping, noble metal depositing, as well as various combinations of these methods. A proposed mechanism concerning the synergistic effects is discussed to explain the improvement of the photocatalytic activities.

Abstract:We investigated the photovoltaic properties of series of TiO2 photocatalysts by means of SPS and found that the thresholds of TiO2 particles blue shift with their particle sizes decreasing and crystal phases changing from rutile TiO2 to anatase TiO2. Combining with the photodegradation activities of TiO2 on C7H16, it was concluded that the photocatalytic activities of TiO2 increase with their thresholds increasing, which can be explained using energy band theory. We also investigated the relationship beween the photovoltaic properties and photocatalytic activities of B TiO2 before and after photooxidation on C7H16, SO2 and C7H16+SO2, respectively and found adsorbates at the surface of TiO2 affect their photocatalytic activities and conduction types of surface layer.

Abstract:TiO2 has been intensively investigated for decades as the most important photocatalyst, but its photoactivity still needs further improvment. TiO2 surface and interface are vital in photocatalysis because it is where the photo-excitation, charge transfer and subsequent photoreaction take place. Surface and interface control has been demonstrated as very effective approach to synthesize highly efficient TiO2. Here we highlight our recent work as well as the state-of-the-art in controlling of TiO2 surface and interface including facet growth, surface decoration and surface adsorption that leads to better photocatalytic performance. It is expected to provide some guidelines for rational design and fabrication of highly efficient TiO2-based materials for photocatalysis.

Abstract:Based on the newest papers about nano-TiO2, the mechanisms of photocatalysis, ways of improving photocatalytic performance, and influencing factors of environment are discussed in this article. And the progresses in the study on some novel catalysis-enhanced or catalysis-assisted technologies such as infrared treatment, electric field effect, microwave effect and ultrasonic effect are introduced. Abstract:As a typical photocatalyst,nano-titania has been attracting much attention.In this paper,some methodology to realize a visible light response of TiO2 including noble metal depositing,semiconductor coupling,transition-metal or nonmetal element doping,surface dye sensitization are reviewed,and doping is the most commonly used method to improve the TiO2 photocatalysis activity.Moreover,organic functional surface modification of TiO2 particle and other innovation methods are also introduced.In the end,the research foreground on nanotitania based photocatalytic materials is prospected.It's pointed out that the next stage will be focus on the study of organic-inorganic dual-functionalized doping TiO2 and its application on life science.
