Discussion on the correlation between voluntary blood donation and economic development in Zhengzhou Area

Abstract:[Objective]To investigate the correlation between voluntary blood donation and the level of national economy in Zhengzhou Area,and provide the basis for the collaborative development of voluntary blood donation and regional economy in Zhengzhou.[Methods]The data of blood donation amount and person-time,GNP,social investment in fixed assets,per capita net income of rural residents and per capita disposable income of urban residents and other economic data were selected for the correlation analysis of donation data and economic development data by bivariate correlation analysis of SPSS 7. 0 software( α = 0. 05) from 2001 to2012 in Zhengzhou City.[Results]The analysis showed the growth trend of voluntary blood donation in Zhengzhou City is undulating movement. The growth in 2004,2007 and 2008 was all above 20%,meanwhile,the other yeas were all below 15%. There was a positive correlation( P 0. 01) between blood donation amount and the level of economic development with correlation coefficient r bigger than 0. 99. [Conclusion]With the rapid economic development,the local government should continue to increase investment and support in the development of voluntary blood donation,so as to achieve collaborative development of voluntary blood donation and regional economy,and ensure the steady growth of the voluntary blood donation.
