Abstract:In order to effectively use the powerful computing provided by the heterogeneous multi-core architecture, re-organize the data and a reasonable schedule for the execution of tasks is very necessary, according to the characteristics of the hardware architecture. This paper presents a parallel computing method for irregular work, the method is an multiple parallel integration of data parallelism, task parallelism, pipeline parallelism, is particularly suitable for the implementation of the work with dynamic behavior and complex irregular data structures algorithms, and run the program according to the storage locality and SIMD character, using priority-based dynamic scheduling and data management, to maximize the efficient use of CPU and GPU hardware computing resources and storage resources. The experiments results show that the approach can improve the parallel rendering algorithm performance for the dynamic execution and irregular data structures construction and maintenance.

Concurrency and Computation Practice and Experience

Abstract:The mobile agent technique has been broadly used in next generation distributed systems. The system performance measurement and simulation are required before the system can be deployed on a large scale. In this paper, we address performance analysis on a finite state mobile agent prototype on the basis of Virtual Hierarchical Tree Grid Organizations (VIRGO). The finite states refer to the migration, execution, and searching of the mobile agent. We introduce a novel evaluation model for the finite state mobile agent. The experimental results based on this evaluation model show that the finite mobile agents can perform well under multiple agent conditions and are superior to the traditional client/server approach. Abstract:Mobile agent technology is a new distributed computation paradigm. With its potential power, the technology aroused a great interest and experienced a rapid development in the last ten years. Various mobile agent systems were made for different targets and were implemented in different means. It is necessary to explore the current mobile agent systems and to summarize the implementation technologies for further research. In this paper a comprehensive explanation of mobile agent systems is given. First the definition and peculiarities of mobile agents and mobile agent systems are stated. Its advantages are enumerated. Then eight representative mobile agent systems are surveyed and the design issues about mobile agent programming language, mobility, communication, fault tolerance and security are discussed. Finally, the deficiencies and the trends of mobile agent technology are pointed out.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the simulation of Finite State mobile agent, which regards the migration, execution, and searching of the mobile agents as finite states. As the finite state mobile agents are deployed under the virtual organization platform, the corresponding search algorithm in virtual organization is also introduced. The experiments results based on the finite mobile agent’s evaluation model show the finite mobile agents can achieve satisfied performance.

Abstract:An effective communication and migration algorithm for mobile agent on the virtual organization was presented based on the characteristics of the virtual organization. The algorithm was established on the finite state mobile agent computation model. All the actions (e. g. service, migration and communica-tion etc.) of the mobile agents were treated as states. The process of the mobile agents' workflow was controlled by a finite state machine, which can guarantee the atomicity of each mobile agent in terms of sequential logic. By introducing the virtual organizational based mailbox mechanism, the algorithm realized highly efficient communication and migration among multiple mobile agents, and the communication mis-match issues under current network conditions can be sorted effectively. Experimental results shown that the algorithm is more effective in both the mismatch of migration and service available compared with the existed algorithm. The algorithm increases the robustness and intelligence of mobile agent and overcomes the serious weakness of large amount of data transmission existing in the strong-migration mode agent systems.

Abstract:This paper presents a simple and practical method to optimize the performance of the MAS-based autonomous mobile robot under urgency.This method implements hybrid architecture by modifying the traditional MAS-based architecture,since the traditional one has large navigation latency when urgent events occur.In the modified system,a set of urgent events and states are defined,the discrete event state model is amended,and a whole mechanism with an agent,called sequencer,is introduced.Experiments show that the method shortens the navigation latency and improves the system intelligence and safety.

Abstract:Traditional distributed applications are designed in the way that a set of processes is fixed in some nodes of network and cannot move. However, Mobile Agents System (MAS) varies greatly from them. In MAS, agent can migrant from host to host([3]). This character differs lot in system design([4]). This paper first introduces briefly two ways of meeting arrangement based on non-MAS, and then a MAS-based way is presented. At last, we compare the advantages and disadvantages of these ways.

Abstract:This paper improved the performance of phase correction distributed parallel computing using mobile agent technology.Mobile agent,which combines software agent and mobile code technology,was the right means to achieve the goal of efficient parallel information management and sharing,due to its autonomy,adaptation,mobility,collaboration,goal-oriented feature.Adopted the task pattern of master/slave in application of mobile agent in distributed computing.Master agent decomposed tasks to slave agent,allowed it move to designated purpose and implemented it and returned results.Implemented the distributed parallel phase correction of time-lapse seismic oil exploration data processing using Aglet,and the experimental result is good.It's a good method for time-lapse cross equalization method and oil exploration normal data processing such as migration and forward modeling.
Distributed Parallel Genetic Algorithms Based on Multi-Agent Cooperation

Abstract:An architecture of a distributed parallel genetic algorithm was developed to improve computing resource allocation in parallel genetic algorithms. The architecture was defined on a network consisting of several computing nodes each of which had several computing units. The algorithm mapped the physical computing nodes to logical computing units using certain parallel mode and carried through individual migrating between neighboring units. A system with only two units was used to analyze the performance of the architecture. Four parallel modes, the serial, the simple parallel, the quasi -parallel and the migrating parallel, as well as the individual migrating fractions were introduced. The experiments on the search for the global maximum of the Schaffer function show that the quasi -parallel mode is better than the simple parallel mode or the serial mode when there is only one node, while the migrating parallel mode is better than all the other modes for certain range of computing power re -mapping fraction. Heuristic arguments were also provided for the understanding of these observations.

Abstract:With the unprecedented development of Internet/Intranet, mobile computing environment has become the main trends of large scale distributed computing. But traditional fixed network connection is becoming the bottleneck to the development of distributed computing and reduces the efficiency of large scale computing. Using advanced concepts and mobile Agent model has become a key solution to this problem. Above all,this paper presents the background of the research, and then presents the architecture of mobile Agent under the environment of mobile computing. At the same time, the definition,principle,application evaluation and the experiment result of this advanced architecture are discussed and analyzed in detail. Finally, the paper shows the effectiveness of this architecture to today's WWW system.

Abstract:This paper describes a kind of parallel genetic algorithm that is based on the idea of multi-agent cooperation.The algorithm consists of several computing units,in each of which a simple genetic algorithm is maintained,thus each computing unit can be regarded as an independent autonomous agent.The algorithm allocates computing resources to each unit according to the resource-allocating vector and carries through exchange of individuals between units according to the individual-migrating matrix.From the viewpoint of multi-agent system,the allocation of computing resource represents the coordination between agents,while the migration of individuals represents the collaboration between them.The algorithm can be implemented easily in a serial computer and it has the quasi-parallel feature in this case.The analyses to such a quasi-parallel genetic algorithm in two dimension show that since the cooperation between computing agents is taken into account in the algorithm,the computing resources can be utilized in a more effective way and thus better performances are presented when the algorithm deals with different kinds of optimizing problems.

Abstract:Presents a platform called PMMAP, a Java-based mobile agents platform that is oriented for program mining. Program mining is a kind of novel computing paradigm that supports computing on demand in distributed networks. The whole process of program mining is based on mobile agents technology. In order to implement program mining, we develop a powerful and suitable mobile agents platform. It not only provides the basic functions, such as loading agent, unloading agent, starting agent, stopping agent, suspending agent, resuming agent, but also develops a series of mechanisms and protocols to implement data security, efficient communication, fault-tolerance, strongly mobile migration and component support. Abstract:With the fast advance of wireless chip-set and portable devices, mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is becoming a novel wireless computing environment that can embrace grid computing by utilizing the non-trivial computing capabilities of each node to solve time-critical or resource-critical problems. But a few issues such as intermittent network connectivity, node's heterogeneity and resource constraints, must be addressed carefully. For them, a mobile agent approach is proposed in this paper. It delegates computation jobs to mobile agent, drives it to migrate on MANET and find nodes that have the resources. On each node, agent negotiates to use it resources and does its best to accomplish the jobs. This approach enables flexible handling of various resource sharing policies, and considers each node's resource capabilities. Moreover, it shields the dynamical network connectivity to mobile agent, thus enables logical mobility of grid applications over MANET

Abstract:As a recently developed paradigm in distributed computing,mobile agent can especially benefit (mobile) Internet applications on providing asynchronous task execution and more dynamics,supporting flexible and extensible cooperation,reducing communication bandwidth,enhancing real time abilities and higher degree of robustness,enabling off_line processing and disconnected operation.This paper presents an approach based on mobile agent to query distributed geographic information,which can overcome the drawbacks of the traditional connection_based access method.A prototype is implemented to access distributed geographic information transparently by using Aglets,which is a free mobile agent development platform developed by IBM.In our on_going research project,mobile agents are responsible for remote information retrieval.A user submits spatial or nonspatial query through a GUI interface built at the client machine,and the query is analyzed and decomposed at a server site.Then some mobile agents are created and dispatched to the respective sites to retrieve data autonomously and separately.Distributed GIS based on mobile agent is more adaptable to the open,heterogeneous,autonomous (mobile) Internet with limited bandwidth and unstable communication connectivity.

Abstract:Multi-agent simulation has extensive applications. When the number of agents in the system is very large and the dynamics of agents is complicated, current multi-agent simulation methods or parallel simulation methods are hard to apply. Thus, it is important to develop efficient simulation methods for these systems. To efficiently simulate this kind of systems, a two-layer framework of parallel simulation for multi-agent systems was proposed. Additionally, an approach to accelerate the simulation was proposed. Experimental results showed that the approach is effective.

Abstract:Aiming at parallel computing of shared memory multiprocessors based on JOMP, this paper probes the writing, compiling and running of a (star). jomp file in detail and describes a complete specification and process for parallel programming. It expounds the format of parallel directive sets, main runtime libraries and their functions, making a further illustration of variable attributes in parallel region. Taking an example of computing values of pi on a lenovo Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120, it obtained a 1.73 speedup factor and 86.5% efficiency, and proved the feasibility and effectiveness of this system.

Abstract:A distributed parallel optimization computation environment based on matlab is proposed. After details of parallel computation environment are discussed, the architecture of distributed parallel optimization computation environment is analyzed. Then four kinds of parallel functions are discussed, which include functions of initialization, sending and receiving data, computation, sending and integrating results. A parallel SQP is implemented using these four kinds of functions. Pseudo codes demonstrate the efficiency of this implement.
