Abstract:Fierce market competition, booming of world-wide network, searching for the quick reflection of market variation and reciprocity, all these propel the development of network based agile manufacturing. This paper analyzes the current situation of utilizing the network in the die mould field, and proposes a hypothesized framework of network-based agile manufacturing around the integrated information center, and analyzes its management system. Even more, offers a manufacturing framework based on an agile manufacturing research institution which is easy to be accessed and points out its ultimate object.

Abstract:The state-of-art on supply chain is analyzed, and the new characteristics of supply chain under the networked manufacturing are discussed, which is a netted supply chain. Later an agile supply chain mode based on the center of harmony and control is proposed, and then a dynamic and reengineering system framework for agile supply chain based on multi-agent is constructed. A virtual private network(VPN) cadre is provided to support the agile supply chain. The key technologies based on the Web service are discussed, and these technologies and managing methods can be used to harmonize the plan and materials circulation, as well as to adjust the running mode of enterprises, thereby, to realize the agile manufacturing.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of current statuses of the manufacturing enterprises, methodology. of reconstruction of manufacturing resource and manufacturing system is proposed in this paper. Modeling and encapsulation of manufacturing resource are the basis for manufacturing resources to own intelligent and networked characters. Implementation of open system architecture and CORBA-based specification software bus can assure the flexibility of the system, communication and cooperation among heterogeneous manufacturing resources can cause them to be quickly integrated into the integration infrastructure, and to realize the agility of the system to the changes of environment.

Abstract:This paper presents a novel approach to implementing agile design and manufacturing concepts by using Internet-based technology. The underlying philosophy of the approach is to use web-based design and manufacturing support systems as smart tools from which design and manufacturing customers can rapidly and responsively access the system's built-in design and manufacturing expertise. The approach is described in detail with application examples. The major issues in implementing the approach are discussed with particular reference to using Java programming, client-server technology and open computing of design and manufacturing requirements. The paper concludes with a discussion on the potential of the proposed approach.

Abstract:Rapid response manufacturing in a distributed network environment is a new manufactory pattern that can be used to implement the concept of agile design and manufacturing, but there are some new problems associated with it. In this paper, the authors establish some approaches to solve these problems in the product development process. The paper then presents research on key application technologies and solutions, which include a network safety strategy which ensures data transference among the leaguer members; production data management based on Web/DOT (distributed object technology) and XML criteria which ensure data exchange in structure-variance characteristic environments, the network platform which provides the conversion service of different types of CAD files. All these solutions aim for technology problems existing in distributed network environments and among the league members. Finally, the paper takes one project, i.e., the establishment of an online application service system for Shanghai Advance Manufacturing Technology Research Center as a good example. Abstract:Networked manufacturing enterprises need a wider support from external manufacturing resources. This paper proposes a promising service to use web-based extended manufacturing resources for product development. The system architecture and enabling techniques are presented. Manufacturing resources on the web are achieved through focused crawling and semantic web technologies. These resources are further utilized through web-based resource repositories such as part libraries. The major modules of web-based manufacturing resource service are encapsulated with web services. A case study of mould product development is presented, which promotes the networked collaborative design and manufacturing processes. Some preliminary results indicate the feasibility and scalability of web-based manufacturing resource services for networked manufacturing.

Abstract:The overall networked manufacturing solution for high technology industry region of Shannxi Province's Center is discussed to utilize the regional superiorities of technology resources and manufacturing resources. The configuration of regional networked manufacturing system is designed and the system components and functions are put forward. After the regional basic network environment is constructed by the Virtual Private Network(VPN) technique, the integrated application system frame and basic service functions of the network platform are proposed. The technical solution of application systems is proposed on the study of the computer-aided industrial design, open manufacturing with a rapid response, and networked optimum disposition of manufacturing resources, etc.

Abstract:Abstract A new and emerging agile manufacturing paradigm is attracting an increasing amount of attention from both the academic and industrial communities. Agile manufacturing makes use of modern information technology to form virtual enterprises, which agilely respond to the changing market demands. In recent years, Web related technology improves greatly the abilities to communicate and cooperate, The web technology enables the manufacturing resources, including information, facilities and so on, to be shared among geographically distributed partners. The significance of web technology to agile manufacturing is unquestionable. In this paper we develop a prototyping system to explore methodology of enhancing agility by use of Web based technology. A web-based micro-process planning system for turning has been developed. The engineers who are connected to the Internet at geographically distributed sites can use a standard browser to realize process parameter planning and optimization.
