Abstract:Cyclic voltammograms involving PbO_2/PbSO_4 processes on Pb-Sm-Sn and Pb-Ca-Sn alloy electrodes in 4.5 mol·dm~(-3) H_2SO_4 solution were measured between 0.6 and 1.6 V (vs.Hg/Hg_2SO_4). Furthermore, the anodic behaviors of the above two alloy electrodes at 0.9 and 1.28 V, were also studied using Linear Sweep Voltammetry and A. C. Voltammetry. The results show that Samarium replacing Calcium in lead alloy can inhibit the growth of the anodic films and reduce the resistivity of the anodic films formed at both 0.9 and 1.28 V.
