Abstract:In the past,the cognition of urban space was carried out mainly from the different aspects of the physical dimension.However,with the development of digital technology,the virtual dimension has also become an important perspective of spatial cognition in the field of urban planning,and the evolution of technology has an effect on the virtual-physical relationship of urban space.Based on the analysis and comparison on the characteristics of different digital technologies and the characteristics of space under the influence of them,this paper points out that the virtual-physical space has emerged due to the changes of XR technology in the contents and methods of interaction,and the virtual-physical space is characterized by visibility,three-dimensional sense of space,and real-time interaction with the physical environment.The paper further analyzes the different virtual-physical relationships of urban space under the influence of digital technology,including the transfer of physical space to virtual space,the extension of virtual space in physical space,the supplement of virtualphysical space to virtual space,and the coordination of physical space to virtual-physical space.Among them,the virtual-physical space has an impact on regional connection and urban public space.The virtual-physical relationship of future urban space will put forward new requirements for the urban planning and design:the dual attributes of urban space as both virtual and physical space will bring dual requirements to planners,and the interaction between the virtual and physical urban space will change the urban planning and design process.As the impact deepens,it is necessary to discuss how to protect the physical space and standardize the design,storage,and use of virtual space and virtualphysical space,and to pay attention to the changes in social relations and socio-economic development.

Abstract:Large amount of data which is applied in urban planning research work can be obtained from modern space technolgy, such as urban land use, urban traffic, urban population density and distribution, layout of buildings and their density, etc.. These data can be made to a virtual model of planning based on the way of digitalization and network, form which people can find useful information of a certain city. The model can be formed as a practical support system for urban comprehensive management. More details about digital city are introduced in the paper.

Abstract:The Digital City is a multi-resolution, multi-scale, multi-space and time, multi-kinds description of a city in three dimensions with techniques such as 3S, telemetry, simulation and Virtual Reality (VR) based on such techniques as computer, multimedia and large-scale storage, and taking the wide band web as vinculum. By this technique, the modern city's information can be collected, collated and generalized,and the complete spatial data model can be established on the geographical coordinate system so as to facilitate each person's acquaintance of the past, present and future of the city rapidly, entirely and visually through the web. At the present time, studies on Digital City at home and abroad make no substantive advancement, but still remain at building hardware and software conditions, or at most, at the preliminary stage of the study. The paper mainly probes into the key techniques such as Virtual Reality, Urban Spatial Data Infrastructure, integrated model study of many kinds of GIS systems, 3D-GIS, the urban planning in three dimensions, city simulation and digital society supported by VR and Digital City, etc.

Abstract:3D model data has become an important part in the construction of Digital City database with its intuitive, objectivity and accuracy characteristics. In order to solve the accuracy and efficiency requirement of 3D model data acquisition, in the process of building digital city, Beijing take a variety of ways to achieve 3D model acquisition. Utilizing the traditional manual 3D modeling to achieve the accuracy of 3D fine model, utilizing 3D laser scanning technology to realize the accuracy of 3D hyperfine model, utilizing tilt photogrammetry semi-automatic modeling method to achieve rapid modeling etc. From the technical point of view, this paper is a comprehensive summary of the specific technical approach and application methods for 3D model in the process of Beijing digital city construction. 3D model data applied in many fields of Beijing Digital City such as historical and cultural protection, education and economic and so on, which lay a solid data base for the construction of Wisdom Beijing.

It explores the methods in three-dimensional digital city modeling by combing 3dsmax and Arc GIS platform. It discusses the specific issues of 3D-city modeling with a city in Anhui province,and sums up a complete three-dimensional modeling of operational process. Abstract:Internet, computer technologies and geoinformatics bring the human to the time of Earth, Digital cities, as the most active nerve cells of digital earth, have been constructed throughout China and the world. In this paper, some research and practice of Changzhou in the digital city construction, especially its city spatial data infrastructure (CSDI) construction, are introduced. In section1, the internal functions of databases, the associations of functions and data are analyzed, and then all kinds of data are organized. In section 2, overall design thinking of Changzhou CSDI and the design of fundamental database--the core of CSDI--is introduced. In section 34, combining with the construction and application of Changzhou CSDI fundamental database, some data characteristics of Changzhou CSDI are analyzed. Then in section 5, the last section, the deficiencies in the construction of Changzhou CSDI and some improved means are pointed out.

Abstract:The nature of mankind is longing for better residential environments. City, as a major living style, has never stopped exploring more comfortable urban modes. The main stream of city development theory resulted in 'eco-city'. Recently a new concept, digital city, was push forward with the hot tides of IT technologies. However there is few research linking these two concepts together. This paper tried to explicit the affiliation and comparable elements between these two concepts. It overviewed the recent research achievements on both eco-city and digital city. It pictured an integrative prospect of digital city and eco-city on the point of view from urban sustainable development with IT technologies widely applied. It proposed a fundamental technological framework of the integration of digital city and eco-city. It finally concluded that the integration of eco-city and digital city is the future of sustainable urban development.

Abstract:Spatial intelligence computation platform is put forward as a new concept in this paper.The research meaning and content of it is expatiated and its modeling object and target are also ensured.Two kinds of modeling methods namely macro math model,crowd behavior model accompanied with the city landscape modeling technology applying to spatial activity analysis are discussed in detail.Four key technical issues are addressed and analyzed:1) multi-scale behavior models integration,2) daily living models of city construction,3) core computation models verification and tuning,and 4) the balance of efficiency and effect.On the viewpoint of practical functions,urban spatial intelligence computation platform is a bridge between macro complex problems and micro mechanism and an operational experiment platform to analyze city problems with wide prospect in different application fields.

Abstract:With the development of information technology and China's urban economy, the concept of smart cities has been proposed many times. Planning and designing cityscapes are essential in the process of building smart cities. There are many factors to consider when designing and planning traditional cityscapes, and these factors must be studied in combination with modern developments and characteristics. Information technology can provide massive data support and technical support for these studies. With the support of information technology, cities and modern technology can be closely connected. This paper proposes research on digital cityscape planning and design under spatial information technology using literature methods, field survey methods, comparative survey methods, and other methods. First, we deeply study spatial information technology and theoretical knowledge of digital cityscape planning and design; then, we design a spatial gray-level co-occurrence matrix model, collect urban vegetation data maps via remotely sensed images, and finally analyze the planning and design of digital cityscapes. After landscape planning, the vegetation was rated at 38.94 points, approximately 12 points higher than the rating given before planning. This result shows that after reasonable landscape planning and design, the needs of people for green plants can be met well, and the ecological value of digital urban spatial landscapes can be fully utilized. These results are important for maintaining the diversity of urban biodiversity, regulating the regional climate, and maintaining urban spaces, and the ecological balance of the entire city also plays a vital role.

Abstract:In terms of methodology, technology and data demand, the study on spatial organization of functional network in low-carbon region (FNLCR) is identified by the spatialized and digitalized characteristics. Therefore, digital city technology (DCT) becomes important in the study of spatial organization of FNLCR. The research components and ideas are provided, and the research approach named digital low-carbon region (DLCR) with broad connections with DCT is proposed. An initiative framework of spatial organization of FNLCR is presented based on the platform of DCT, and it will help to establish a complete routine of digital low-carbon planning (DLCP) on regional scale. ©2010 IEEE.

Abstract:3D city modeling is an interesting subject that attracts both computer aided design and computer graphics communities. This paper surveys the recent development of 3D city modeling techniques for either real or virtual city. Some typical approaches and fundamenta1 principles behind them are also analyzed and compared. Finally we introduce a rule-driven procedure modeling approach for large-scale virtual city. Comparing with the existing approaches, the rules adopted by the proposed approach and based on urban planning principles are easy to be understood and customized. Our experiments proved the system is effective and efficient.

Abstract:This Study has two major concentrations: 1) exploring, methods of creating a digital city model, and 2) applying the model to Study urban spatial structure, all issue of particular interest and importance to urban planners. Based on existing studies that primarily address two-dimensional (2D) urban Structure, this paper focuses on the three-dimensional (3D) Structure relating to the 3D urban form. Given their greater clarity and possibilities for quantitative analysis, both 3D digital urban models and GIS spatial overlay analysis methods hold tremendous potential for analysing and predicting future urban form. In this project, the Xidan Business District in Beijing's Inner City was the area selected to implement the digital-city application. Under the hypothesis that the existing urban spatial structure is determined by the city's urban planning scheme and Current urban marketing forces, it is found that actual urban development does not follow the planning restrictions on zoning and building height regulations. Some contradictions and conflicts, Such as building location and height, appeared in the Studied district. The specific reasons for the discrepancies need to be further Studied.
