Abstract:The high-field superconducting magnets as a core components of the MRI has been widely used in the fields of medical equipment. The superconducting magnet technology depends on the development of superconducting material properties and cryogenic technology. Compared with conventional imaging equipment, ultra-high-field magnetic resonance imaging technology has unparalleled advantages of the improvement for medical imaging equipment. At present, the magnetic field of ultra-high-field superconducting magnet is 9.4-11.75 T for the human body. For animals, the maximum magnetic field has reached 17 T. Large scale application of superconducting technology has become the only way to be able to form high-field magnet scale industrialization. In this paper, a review on the development of high field MRI system will be presented including in the superconducting and permanent MRI systems for all kind of the applications in the medical diagnosis and interventional therapy with solenoid and open structures.

Abstract:In this paper,the present status of research on MnZn ferrites with high density,high permeability (μ)and high saturation magnetic induction(B_s)is summarized.The effects of preparing process on the density,permea- bility and saturation magnetic induction of MnZn ferrites are expatiated,such as formula system,calcination process,ad- ditives,molding and sintering process.The development trend of preparing technologies of MnZn ferrites with high den- sity,high permeability and high saturation magnetic induction is pointed out.

Abstract:High-permeability nanocrystalline particle is one of the most important approaches to develop the new generation of electromagnetic wave absorbing materials.Based on the exchange coupling,finite-size and surface effect of nanostructure,the static magnetic characterizations and dynamic magnetization mechanism of high-permeability nanocrystalline particles are introduced in this paper.The experimental results are discussed in combination with the recent research development in this field promoted by the local and abroad researchers. Finally,the problems in present work and developing trends of future research were submitted.

Abstract:The development of advanced electromagnetic devices has been constrained by a lack of soft magnetic materials with a suitably high saturation magnetization (over 20 kilogauss) and a large permeability roll-off frequency (greater than 1 gigaherz). For example, magnetic hard-disk-drive technology is rapidly approaching the perceived superparamagnetic limit at which the stored bits become thermally unstable1 — disks with higher anisotropy are more stable but are not usable because magnetic write heads become saturated. Here we describe a new soft magnetic material with a saturation magnetization of 24 kilogauss and a large permeability of 1,000–1,400 in a wide frequency range of up to about 1.2 gigaherz. This new material promises to have wide application in devices such as magnetic recording heads and integrated inductors.

Abstract:Two most attractive recent advances in hard and soft magnetic materials were discussed. A promising new hard magnetic material with Curie temperature and magnetic anisotropy higher than Nd2Fe14B was produced by nitrogenation of Sm2Fe17. For soft magnetic materials, the traditional technic line of taking big grain microstructure was broken by the success in the development of Fe-matrix nanocrystalline due to its high magnetization and high permeability. Besides, some other advances in hard and soft magnetic materials were also briefly reviewed in this paper.

Abstract:High-sensitivity magnetic sensors are fundamental components in fields such as biomedicine and non-destructive testing. Flux concentration technology enhances the sensitivity of magnetic sensors by amplifying the magnetic field to be measured, making it the most effective method to improve the magnetic field resolution of magnetic sensors. Superconductors and high-permeability soft magnetic materials exhibit completely different magnetic effects. The former possesses complete diamagnetism, while the latter has extremely high magnetic permeability. Both types of materials can be used to fabricate flux concentrators. This paper compares superconducting and soft magnetic flux concentration technologies through theoretical simulations and experiments, investigating the impact of different structural parameters on the magnetic field amplification performance of superconducting and soft magnetic concentrators. This research is significant for the development of magnetic focusing technology and its applications in weak magnetic detection and other fields.

Abstract:Explored were suitable technical conditions of soft magnetic thin films with excellent high frequency electromagnetic properties. It is pointed out that the magnetic properties of the thin films depend mainly on such factors as their composition, microstructure, magnetostriction, residual stress state, with or without soft magnetic underlayer, additional magnetic field sputtering deposition and continuous magnetic field heat treatment. Fe70Co30 based soft magnetic thin films and Fe(Co)-X-N nanocrystalline soft magnetic films are mainly applied in those devices which require high saturated magnetization, such as magnetic heads. On the other hand, magnetic nanogranular films, which exhibits high resistivity and hence large skin depth, are promising candidates used as magnetic core in devices operating in high frequency, such as micro-inductors and micro-transformers.

Abstract:The magnetic properties of Mn–Zn ferrite such as initial permeability, saturation magnetization, Curie temperature, resistivity and power loss are affected greatly by the Fe2+ content in the raw materials. The experimental results show that low resistivity (ρ) and high eddy current loss (Pe) are induced by the superfluous Fe2+ content in the raw materials; the scant Fe2+ content in the raw materials will increase hysteresis loss (Ph) and decrease Curie temperature (Tc), saturation magnetization (Ms) and initial permeability (μi).

Abstract:<p>Microwave Absorbing Materials (MAMs) are gaining popularity in multiple applications in aviation, preventing electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring the safety of electromagnetic information and mitigating human health hazards arising due to electromagnetic radiations. Magnetic permeability is one of the fundamental properties that influences Microwave Absorption. This paper reviews the past studies to conclude that the magnetic permeability can be increased by modifying the intrinsic material parameters and by exceeding the Snoek's limit. The important intrinsic parameters and possible methods to modify these parameters and to exceed the Snoek's limit are discussed. The pertinent results in terms of modification effects on the magnetic permeability and Microwave Absorption are also detailed.</p>

Abstract:Soft magnetic functional materials exhibit low coercivity, low power loss, and high permeability, making them highly utilized in power electronic devices. In some cases, soft magnetic components with intricate architectures are required to accomplish various tasks. The multi-material and multi-scale fabrication ability of three-dimensional printing (3DP) provides a new way for manufacturing soft magnetic devices with complex structures. The aim of the present work is to consolidate the latest advancements in the 3DP of soft magnetic materials (SMMs). The goal is to inspire future research directions by highlighting existing gaps in knowledge and potential areas for innovation. This paper summarizes recent research on 3DP of SMMs. Studies on 3DP of SMMs, such as Fe-Si and Fe-Ni alloys and soft magnetic ferrites and composites, are reviewed. Moreover, several mainstream 3DP procedures have been introduced. Furthermore, application scenarios of 3DP SMMs, including electronic components and magnetic-drive robots, are covered. Finally, the current challenges and future development trends of 3DP SMMs are discussed.

Abstract:Manganese-zinc (MnZn) ferrites play an indispensable role in energy transform and harvesting. It is notable to mention that the combined enhancement of initial permeability (μi), saturation magnetic induction (Bs) and Curie temperature (Tc) is conducive to improving the output power and safety of magnetic field energy harvesting devices. In this paper, high permeability MnZn ferrites were synthesized by a conventional oxide ceramic method. The thermomagnetic curves of MnZn ferrites were fitted according to the Néel molecular field theory (NMFT) and the Brillouin function. Then the molecular field coefficient γaa, γab, γbb, and Tc were calculated. Aiming at the magnetization mechanism of permeability, the contributions of domain wall motion and spin rotation were analyzed by fitting the complex permeability spectrum. Furthermore, the temperature characteristics of μi and Bs are analyzed, and we simulated and compared the effect of different magnetic properties of MnZn ferrites on the output of non-invasive magnetic field harvester. The MnZn ferrites with superior comprehensive performance own potential applications for non-invasive magnetic field harvester.

Abstract:High-performance permanent magnets play an indispensable role in manufacturing highly efficient motors and generators, ultimately contributing to the sustainability of our planet. Achieving high coercivity (Hc) in hard magnetic materials at or above room temperature without relying on heavy rare-earth elements remains a challenge. Effective strategies for augmenting Hc utilizing low-cost materials involve inter-granular addition and the grain-boundary diffusion processes. This review provides a comprehensive overview of selected techniques for developing GB modification through a specific focus on the reduction of using heavy rare earth (HRE) elements and utilizing cost-effective non-rare earth (NRE) and light rare earth (LRE) sources for GBD. To date, the successful application of HRE based metals and compounds, and LRE based alloys as diffusion sources has significantly contributed to Hc enhancement. Drawing upon global advancements and findings from various research groups, this comprehensive review offers a critical analysis of the fundamentals and progress in grain-boundary diffusion processes (GBDP). Considering the different types of permanent magnets, the GBDPs, based on the diverse diffusion sources and diffusion processes, are thoroughly compared and summarized. This encapsulates the current state of knowledge in the field, providing valuable insights into the ongoing developments in GB modification to improve permanent magnet performance.

Abstract:Magneto-sensitive smart soft materials are a class of multi-functional compos-ite materials prepared by dispersing micrometer or nanometer sized magnetic particles into di®erent carrier matrix. As external magnetic field may control the rheological properties in a continuous, rapid and reversible manner, these materials have wide applications in con-struction, vibration control, automotive industry, etc. In this paper, we first introduce the history and classification of magneto-sensitive smart soft materials, and analyze the charac-teristics and existing scientific issues for di®erent kinds of such materials. Then we discuss the state-of-the-art for experimental and theoretical studies of the magnetorheological mech-anism. Finally, we propose some future trends in this smart material development aiming at practical applications.

Abstract:Soft magnetic composites (SMCs) are a crucial material in the process of electromagnetic conversion, playing a critical role in power production, transmission and utilization. Third-generation semiconductors necessitate soft magnetic materials with distinctive characteristics, such as high response, high power density and low total loss. Fe-based amorphous soft magnetic alloys exhibit exceptional soft magnetic properties, including high saturation magnetization, low coercivity and high permeability. To mitigate high eddy current loss, the utilization of ultra-thin laminating or powder composite cores is recommended. Amorphous soft magnetic composites (ASMCs) are produced through powder metallurgy techniques utilizing insulated and/or coated amorphous soft magnetic powders. The paper presents an overview of Fe-based ASMCs development history, various types of insulating, coating preparation methods, molding preparation technology, heat treatment process and recent significant achievements. Additionally, the study highlights future research hotspots and trends in the discipline of Fe-based ASMCs, along with critical concerns, development prospects and directions faced.

Abstract:The importance of newly developed permanent magnetic materials in many electromechanical, magnetomechanical and electronic applications is attributed to the drastic improvement in microstructure related properties, such as the remanence, the magnetic energy density product and the coercive field. The influence of the microstructure on the magnetic properties of the magnets will be discussed, where special emphasis is laid on rare earth permanent magnets. Highest performance, anisotropic Nd–Fe–B magnets with Jr>1.5 T, (BH)max>450 kJ m−3 and JHc> 750 kA m−1, which are produced by the powder metallurgy route, show a strong influence of composition and processing parameters on the magnetic properties. The magnetic properties of Sm(Co,Cu,Fe,Zr)z sintered magnets, which are used nowadays for high temperature applications between 300 and 500 °C, are determined by the cellular precipitation microstructure, which is developed during a complex heat treatment and by the microchemistry. Special hard magnetic powder materials, such as Sm2Fe17N3 and nanocrystalline, composite Nd2Fe14B /(α-Fe,Fe3B) materials have been developed especially for usage in bonded magnetic materials, which show the strongest annual increase in the production of permanent magnets. The phenomenon of the enhancement of remanence, occurring in single phase and composite Nd2Fe14B based magnets with isotropic grain alignment, is attributed to intergrain exchange interactions.
