Abstract:Generally, Russian philosophy is seldom mentioned in the studies of the history of European philosophy in the West as well as in China; in particular, its epistemological thoughts are still more seldom known. This paper briefly describes the academic life and main writings of Russian philosopher Nicola Lossky, analyses the theoretical background of his intuitionism, and argues that he tries to surpass the basic thought of the solipsist predicament, into which the Western epistemology had fallen in the end of the 19th century, by means of dissolving the distinction between subject and object; reforming the concept of 'consciousness'; putting forward 'the theory of epistemological harmony'.
