To Determine the Relationship Between Carotid Artheries Atherosclerosis and Type of Cerebral Infarction with Color Doppler Sonography

Abstract:Objective To determine the relationship between carotid artheries atherosclerosis and type of cerebral infarction.Methods According to clinicalmanifestation and CT/MRI,76admitted patients with cerebral infarction were divided into two groups,one is cerebral thrombosis(34 cases),the other is lacunar infarction(42 cases),and cardiac cerebral embolism was excluded.We use color Doppler sonography to detect the subject.Results A prominent correlation is found in the same side between them.(P=0.037).The quantity of cerebral infarction in ipsilateral hemisphere is much more than that.in the contralateral;The incidence(78.9%)in multiple infarctions is much higher than that(54.3%)in the single;The quantity(56.1%)of the rough carotid arteries tunica intima in multiple infarctions is much more than that(28.6%)in the single;The stenosis degree is not obviously different between the two groups(17.1%,24.4%)The incidence(85.3%)of carotid arteries atherosclerosis in the cerebral thrombosis is much higher than that(52.3%)in the lacunar infarction;The incidence(90.0%)of it in the cerebral cortex infarction is much higher than that in the basal gangalia infarction(58.0%)and in brain stem.cerebellum infarction(57.0%).Conclusions Carotid arteries arteriosclerosis plays a role in the cerebral infarction,and cerebral thrombosis has a close relationship with it.
