The Investigation of Hand-Foot Mycosis in 461 Cases of Chinese Dermatologists

Abstract:Objective To investigate the incidence of mycosis in dermatologists hands and feet.Methods 461 dermatologists were examed through clinical features and pathogens detected by microscopy, who attending the 6th Chinese-Japan or 9th National Dermatology Conference.Results The incidence of foot-mycosis was 30.1 percent (139 cases) and hand 2.6 percent (12 cases) with hand mycosis.Affected nails (hand-foot) and foot mycosis were 18.6 percent (86 cases).About 44.5 percent were above 55 years old.Conclusion The incidence of foot mycosis is higher, whereas tinea pedis and tinea mannum are lower than that of average people, which indicats the hygienic conditon in dermatologists is better but still weaker awareness of asymptomatic hand-foot mycosis.
