Abstract:A novel preprocessing and localization method has been proposed for container auto recognition system. The method combines both linear filters and nonlinear filters to reduce noises on an image. Selection method of the adaptive parameters of the filters is discussed thoroughly. Tests have been made based on the method. Character lines can be properly located with a ratio of above 98%.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of the complex procedure and multiple solutions in the present mapping and color separation algorithms of woven photograph CAD technology,the paper compares it with the technology of color separation in RIP and takes the characteristic of the woven photograph CAD technology and the actual fabric production process into account,and then comes up with a solution of mapping and color separation of woven photograph CAD which is based on the compression of saturation in the HSI color space.In this solution,colors are divided into some mapping spaces to map and separate according to the hue angles of the primary colors.It is easy to understand and resolves the trouble of multiple solutions of mapping and color separation by multicolor base.The paper realized this solution of mapping and color separation of woven photograph CAD under the Jacket for MatLab environment.Experiments show that this solution is very effective in color separation.In addition,the use of GPU computation in Jacket improves computational efficiency of image processing,which makes it possible to design by real-time interaction on the internet.

Abstract:It is well known that locating vehicle license plate is a very difficult problem in the fields of image segmentation and ITS(Intelligent Transprotation System).At the present time，the study of vehicle license plate locating mainly focuses on gray images so that the result is affected easily by the presence of shadows and illumination.In this paper，a new color edge detector ColorPrewitt and a new approach of vehicle license plate locating ColorLP are presented，which fully exploit color information and other features of vehicle license plate.ColorPrewitt not only is simple，but also has superiority over traditional color edge detectors in dealing with color vehicle license plate images because it doesn't just simply operate on the individual three channels of color space.It shows that the license plate edges detected using ColorPrewitt are clear，integrated and easy to be separated form the background.ColorLP combines ColorPrewitt and region growing image segmentation technology with high locating ratio and good generality，which is applicable to locate license plates in cases of various backgrounds，positions and illumination.

Abstract:Color is an important feature of the Chinese license plate. In this paper, a license plate location method totally based on color information for the most common blue and yellow plates is proposed. First, use a special way to generate a grayscale image, highlighting the blue and yellow regions of the original image. Then by using the color concomitant property and transitions between the background and the characters, fake plates are removed, and real plates reserved. Finally, use the color information again to get a more accurate location result and remove the fake plates by using the relationship between the stroke width and the character size. The proposed method adopts two kinds of threshold methods: global threshold method and adaptive block threshold method. By automatically judging the illumination distribution of an image, the algorithm can decide which to use. The proposed method can be used to locate license plates in multi-lane with complex background, and works well even on images with uneven illumination. 2207 images from different traffic videos are used to do experiments, including 1314 images of daytime and 893 images of nighttime. Each image contains 0-7 plates, and the location rate achieves 95.01%.

Abstract:An automatic extraction method of container identity codes based on template matching is proposed. Filtered with both adaptive linear and nonlinear filters, the text lines can be properly located. A series of standard templates has been brought forward according to the align modes of standard container ID codes. The container images to be segmented match with these standard templates and then the container ID codes can be automatically extracted. Results show that this method can segment the container ID codes with high performance.

Abstract:Color transfer of images means transferring color characteristics from one image to another, so that the target image and source image have similar colors. This study proposed a method of automatic color transfer of sampling images. The main steps are as follows. First, based on the unsupervised clustering, divide the target images and source images into a number of subsets with similar color and extract sample points with higher density from each subset to form sample sets. Then according to the definition of similarity measure, the correspondence between the sample sets is established. Third, use the best matching algorithm to find the best matching samples of the target sample set in the source sample set and pass the color information to the target sample points. Abstract:This paper proposes a detecting and tracking scheme for automatic checking attendance of traffic controllers in level crossing by recognizing their warning waistcoats. Considering of the actual requirement of rapidity and validity, this paper employs techniques of motion detection, color segmentation and feature matching to deal with the challenging problems of illumination varying, light reflection and disturbance. Therefore, the task of distinguishing the target from candidates can be fulfilled accurately. Once a target being detected, the established color models are modified through learning color of the detected target, and then Cam-shift algorithm is employed to track this target smoothly. The experiments in real scenes demonstrate that this method has a great capability to detect and track traffic controllers in complex level crossing environment accurately, and the comparisons further demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

Abstract:In order to detect the impurities on the surface of orange segment, a PC-based automatic real-time visual inspection system was designed. First a new connected operator named Area-reconstruction operator for binary image was introduced, which could filter connected components according to mask image, marker image and area of corresponding region. Then the application of Area-reconstruction operator to perform segmentation of orange image was presented, where mask image and marker image were formed by region growing and region reducing. Operation parameters of image-processing were obtained by genetic algorithm on train mode. Experimental result indicates that only the proposed image processing method may ge the satisfactory result and the on-line implementation ability of the inspection system is about 30 similar to 40 segments per second with adequate accuracy.

Abstract:The detection of containerized containers is the core of intelligent de-palletizing system, which is lack of robustness due to factors such as the gaps between the containers, the patterns on the surfaces of containers, noises and ambient light. For this reason, a containers detection algorithm based on computer vision is proposed in this paper. This method used line merging operations to compensate for the broken lines in the Canny edge detection and LSD line extraction process. Secondly, based on the geometric characteristics of the containerized containers, four general rectangular structure elements are defined, which are used to construct the rectangles by a specific matching search algorithm. Then, based on the improved mean-shift clustering algorithm, cluster centers are used to replace a cluster of rectangles, which are used for x-axis and y-axis clustering operations, so as to eliminate the false detections caused by the factors such as patterns and straps. Finally, the non-maximum suppression algorithm is used to screen out the accurate rectangular contours. Experiments have verified that the detection method has an accuracy rate of about 99% for the identification of solid-colored containers. It also has good robustness for containers with patterns, straps, stains, and deformations. The recognition accuracy rate is about 95%.

Abstract:A new fast filtering Algorithm in which a mean value method is adopted is brought forward here, which can greatly decrease the temporal complexity if mid-value filtering method and therefore get a high efficiency in calculation. Abstract:Inspecting whether the label on a cigarette case has been sticked or not is a procedure in the process of detecting cigarette packing.Based on the conditions on the spot,the images of the labels on cigarette cases are analyzed comprehensively by the principles of computer vision,and three methods of detecting corresponding to different labels on different scenes of cigarette cases are presented.The methods are efficient and reliable in experiments and can be applied to practical detection lines.

Abstract:In large container inspection systems, the image is constructed by parallel scanning with a one-dimensional detector array with a linac used as the X-ray source. The linear nonuniformity and nonlinearity of multiple detectors and the nonuniform intensity distribution of the X-ray sector beam result in horizontal striations in the scan image. These factors greatly impair the image quality, so the image needs to be corrected. The correction parameters are determined experimentally by scaling the detector responses at multiple points with logarithm interpolation of the results. The horizontal striations are eliminated by modifying the original image data with the correction parameters. This method is proven to be effective and applicable in large container inspection systems.

Abstract:Computer vision for the container number recognition system is studied.According to a sharp decline of system identification rate caused by poor illumination,a container number location method based on wavelet transform is proposed,which uses the vertical edge of the wavelet transform method to filter the interference of the poor illumination.At the same time,in the character segmentation processing,differential binary algorithm is used according to the relationship between the edge of character features and the intensity of light to eliminate lighting effects.The experimental results show that the new method is more efficient and expands the container recognition research and application.

Abstract:In this paper, we present an interactive system for users to easily colorize the natural images of complex scenes. In our system, colorization procedure is explicitly separated into two stages: Color labeling and Color mapping. Pixels that should roughly share similar colors are grouped into coherent regions in the color labeling stage, and the color mapping stage is then introduced to further fine-tune the colors in each coherent region. To handle textures commonly seen in natural images, we propose a new color labeling scheme that groups not only neighboring pixels with similar intensity but also remote pixels with similar texture. Motivated by the insight into the complementary nature possessed by the highly contrastive locations and the smooth locations, we employ a smoothness map to guide the incorporation of intensity-continuity and texture-similarity constraints in the design of our labeling algorithm. Within each coherent region obtained from the color labeling stage, the color mapping is applied to generate vivid colorization effect by assigning colors to a few pixels in the region. A set of intuitive interface tools is designed for labeling, coloring and modifying the result. We demonstrate compelling results of colorizing natural images using our system, with only a modest amount of user input.

Abstract:Since the 20th century, the global container transportation is developing very quickly. Unfortunately, although many container terminals have adopted modern management, the character recognition of containers still need the operation of manual read and manual record, which will not only cause the operation errors, but also slow the transportation speed. The character recognition system of container is the key to solve the problem, and in the system, the detection of the container body is a vital step. The traditional method for container detection is background subtraction, using an image with the container trunk to minus an image with no container trunks, then extracting the container body by the result. However, for the actual collected image, because of the factors of the low image resolution, the illumination change and the projection of the trunk, the brightness of origin background region will be changed a lot. If continue using traditional method, the extraction error may be made. Through the observation of the actual image, because the containers show obvious color features and texture features, a method based on HSV color model and texture features has been proposed. By the test, good results have been achieved.
