Abstract:A set of online monitoring and control system for gas insulated switchgear (GIS) has been developed and implemented in this paper. Most main mechanical and electrical parameters of GIS can be monitored and phase controlled operation can be realized by this system. Therefore, the intelligentization of GIS can be achieved. Optical Ethernet, embedded technologies and modular design method have been adopted in system design and development, which make the system meet the requirements of IEC61850 - the new generation communication standard for substation automation. Furthermore, EMC technologies have been applied and the system has passed the fourth rigorous level EMC test, which is the most strictest one for substation automation device. The monitoring system has been practically applied in a 110 kV substation.

Abstract:With the construction of smart grid,gas insulted switchgear(GIS) in high-voltage electrical equipment which is widely used,promotes the research and development of the smart GIS application demonstration.This article describes the status of GIS substation in recent years,and the problem and the solution faced to GIS partial discharge.Through the example of partial discharge monitoring system in Shanghai 500 kV Jing'an underground substation,this paper discusses the prospect of application of extra high power equipment based on the ultra high frequency(UHF) technology and the partial discharge(PD) online detection technology in the smart grid.

Abstract:Nowadays, with the fast development of power system, gas-insulated switchgears (GIS) has been widely used in high voltage power grids because of compact structure, high reliability and easy-maintainability. At the same time, as the concept of smart grid is introduced, more and more intelligent devices are used in GIS. The disconnector switching operations always produce electromagnetic field emissions and influence the stable operation of electronic devices in GIS. By establishing the enclosure circuit model and the electromagnetic emission model of GIS, the electromagnetic field caused by switching operation is calculated in this paper, and then, the relationships between electromagnetic field and height, grounding points are analyzed. The calculated electromagnetic fields are in good agreement with the measured results.

Abstract:The features of component GIS?(ComGIS) are explained. As it is smart and can be embedded into common development environment freely, it may be widely applied. Regarding to the complexity of power network structure, the multiplicity of power equipment information and the difficulty of power equipment management, ComGIS is applied to combine various equipment information with geographic information and relative views. Different databases are also adopted to reduce the difficulty of program development and the application complexity.

Abstract:In this paper, a summary of the whole development process as yet and the landmark achievements of GIS are given. We analyze the main characteristics of each stage domestically and internationally, and list the representative GIS softwares and techniques. We especially analyze the characters of digital earth and correlative technologies which need more research. Then we describe the framework of smart earth, and prospect on the beautiful future. Finally, we discuss the subsequent challenges of it and point out the key researches of the next stage.

Abstract:Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) with advantages such as less occupation, low noise, high reliability and safety has been widely used in substations of various voltage levels. However, gas insulation deterioration can cause failure to the GIS equipment and even shutdown to the whole substation. This consequence seriously threatens the operation safety of the power grid. Therefore, monitoring and evaluating of gas insulation states are necessary. In order to obtain an overview of current research status of this field, so that the further studies could be done efficiently. This paper summarizes the researches in monitoring and evaluating of gas insulation states in recent years. The remote online monitoring technologies and the intelligent evaluation methods are respectively reviewed which including the establishment of index system and the creation of evaluation model. At the end of the paper, according to the challenges faced by the current researches, the future research directions and development trends are given.

Abstract:The smart substation, revolutionarily changing every aspect of the modern substation, is developing fast in the world and being massively deployed in China quickly. A smart substation is typically implemented with a sophisticated combination of smart primary high-voltage equipment and hierarchically networked secondary devices. Based on the IEC61850 communication protocol, the functionalities, such as the information sharing and interoperability among smart electric equipment, are realized in smart substations. It is regarded as the basis for the development of smart grid and represents the future development trend of substation technologies. This paper reviews the fundamental vision of the smart substation. The state of the art and the challenges encountered in the practice of engineering implementation are presented. Future developments to solve the present challenges and promote the development of smart substations are also described.

Abstract:Gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) is an important equipment in a substation. Its fault diagnosis is the premise to ensure the rapid repair of the equipment and the economic operation of the substation. With the rapid development of GIS fault diagnosis research, various advanced technologies have emerged in recent years. In order to grasp the research status of GIS fault diagnosis and then provide reference for the follow-up research. The literature related to GIS fault diagnosis collected from CNKI and WOS and published in the last decade is analyzed by using a bibliometric software CiteSpace. It is found that the most research of GIS fault diagnosis in recent years focus on issue of partial discharge (PD) detection. Meanwhile it becomes an inevitable trend to use artificial intelligence detection methods in the detection and classification of PD according to the fault types.

Abstract:The intelligent component for HV GIS is defined as physical device that can be flexibly configured and is assembled by one or several function units, in IEC 61850 which is the only international standard in smart substation system. It can be used to replace the traditional GIS control cabinet. This paper presented a design of intelligent component for HV GIS, especially the IEC61850 communication interface. The intelligent component adopts decentralized control topology to realize the online monitoring of primary equipment, and it has such functions as human-machine interface, local or remote control, logic interlocking and the most important IEC61850 communication interface. It is mainly based on ARM-Linux embedded operating system using modular structure design. The realization of the intelligent component modeling, included IED functional analysis, LN design, DATA design, LD design and Service model design are discussed. The IEC6180 GOOSE messages and publisher-subscriber model have been adopted to realize the communication between the different intelligent components on the Local Area Network according to IEC61850 standards. The intelligent component will increase the reliability, efficiency, intelligent of the primary equipment such as HV GIS significantly. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:In this paper,based on the method geographic information system(GIS) visual development interface,a GIS map is designed and drawn by MapInfo,which includes basic geographic layer,power station layer,substation layer,220 kV transmission line layer,and 500 kV transmission line layer.Moreover,some basic functions and advanced functions of human-computer interaction of electric power system GIS based on MapX are achieved.The basic functions include space function,search function,display data function,thematic map function,eagle eye map function,contour map function,and 3D Visualization function.The advanced functions include multi-screen display function and associated adaptive regulatory function.According to different usage features and demands,more advanced functions can be developed on this basis.The design as presented in this paper will have significant effects in the management,analysis and maintenance of the power grid data.

Abstract:A non-conventional voltage sensor for a 220 kV SMART GIS (gas insulated switchgear) which has been developed is described in detailed. Firstly, this paper lists configuration, principle and the basic technical equation of this sensor. The voltage sensor is well-suited to the geometry of gas-insulated coaxial lines which is called coaxial capacitor. By using the electro-magnetic field analysis function of ANSYS finite element analysis software, the selecting in diameter and length of this sensor is analyzed. Then the influences of temperature, gas density drifts, cylinder's roundness and bus eccentricity are especially studied. At last, the special two kinds of transient responses are discussed too short circuit at the high voltage level and the power system reclosing with trapped charges. According to the analysis results of errors, it also provides compensation method and theoretical basis for the design of voltage sensor. With careful design and the use of digital signal processing technology, the whole system can meet 0.2% accuracy for metering and provide large dynamic range coupled with good accuracy for relaying use

Abstract:With the development and progress of society, the demand for electric energy is increasing day by day. The number of hydropower stations has increased dramatically. In the large-scale hydropower stations and substations currently under construction, GIS high-voltage switch stations have gradually replaced traditional high-voltage switch stations due to their advantages of arc extinguishing and insulation performance, low floor space and high reliability. The GIS breaker body and the operating mechanism of the GIS breaker, or other components of the GIS switch station, are subject to various reasons such as design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance. Frequently, the GIS breaker leaks, the circuit breaker refuses to move, the operating mechanism cannot store energy normally, and the closing time is not easy to measure. These phenomena pose a serious threat to the safe and stable operation of the power system. Such typical phenomena of GIS circuit breakers deserve our consideration of inquiry, analysis and summary. Find the root cause of the failure and propose the most effective improvement. This paper proposes and solves several typical faults during the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of GIS circuit breakers. Provide reference for the fault analysis and processing of GIS circuit breakers in the future.

Abstract:The management efficiency of traditional electricity anti -theft methods is relatively low. GIS has the capability to manage mass spatial data efficiently and if combined with power system to form the Electric power GIS (EGIS ), it will greatly improve the production efficiency , management quality and scientific decision -making ability of power facilities . This paper applies GIS to electricity anti-theft and depicts the electricity equipment on the geographical base map , as well as uses the sensors on electricity equipment to implement dynamic monitoring and efficient management on electricity equipment and enhance the efficiency of electricity anti-theft , finally , retrieve the loss of electricity theft for power companies .

Abstract:Gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is a totally enclosed equipment, which the high voltage can’t be measured according to normal operation. The detection of high voltage can only be operated by high voltage live display device. This paper puts forward an improvement scheme for the traditional high voltage live display device. The optical voltage sensor is proposed to replace the traditional sensor for measurement, and the finite element software ANSYS Maxwell 16.0 is used to simulate and analyze the field strength distribution of the points to be measured, so as to determine the best installation position of the sensor probe. The software is used to process the nonlinear signal, which improves the accuracy of voltage measurement. This research provides a new idea for measuring the internal high voltage of Gas-Insulated Switchgear. -

Abstract:As natural gas industry develops constantly in China, the gas enterprises face a new issue i.e. how to manage the urban gas pipeline system intelligently. The past-used Management Information System (MIS) can't meet the requirements of the current accurate management for urban gas pipeline systems whatever on efficiency, accuracy, and intelligent level. Therefore, the geography information system (GIS) is created as a new management system by computer. GIS has the following main features: i.e. GIS has accurate management, standard map to make direct judgment, and clean corresponding relationship between coordinates and objects. According to the industrial requirements and the technical feasibility for the management system, the basic abilities for GIS have also been described. According to the development of gas engineering techniques, the application and development of GIS are studied. Also some shortcomings of GIS at the present stage are analyzed.
