Abstract:In this paper, the fusion and estimation algorithm of a class of dynamic multiscale systems is investigated. This system is subject to the known dynamic system model, and is measured by multiple sensors with difierent sampling rates. The sampling rates decrease by a factor of M(M > 2). M-band wavelet is used to approximate the projection relationship between the scale spaces, and system model that satisfles Kalman fllter condition is built. After performing Kalman fllter, the optimal state estimation can be obtained. Simulation results are given to obtain insight into the efiectiveness of our method.

Abstract:This paper presents a wavelet transform-based data fusion algorithm for multisensor systems. With this algorithm, the optimum estimate of a measurand can,be obtained in terms of minimum mean square error (MMSE). The variance of the optimum estimate is not only smaller than that of each observation sequence but also smaller than the arithmetic average estimate. To implement this algorithm, the variance of each observation sequence is estimated using the wavelet transform, and the optimum weighting factor to each observation is obtained accordingly. Since the variance of each observation sequence is estimated only from its most recent data of a predetermined length, the algorithm is self-adaptive. This algorithm is applicable to both static and dynamic systems including time-invariant and time-varying processes. The effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated using a piecewise-smooth signal and an actual time-varying flow signal.

Abstract:The limited bandwidth of a single source normally restricts the imaging resolution for the subsurface target. Multi-frequency acquisition is a promising way to enhance the resolution with reasonable data fusion. An Ormsby wavelet based theoretical study confirms the significance of both the low and high frequencies for improving the resolution by means of peak duration and side-lobe oscillation level. To avoid over-boosting the noise during the data fusion, we propose a joint deconvolution approach to associate the single-frequency data with the target function directly. A weighted matched filter is accordingly derived based on the signal-to-noise ratio of the multi-frequency data. Error analysis shows that the joint weighted deconvolution based data fusion achieves better noise control compared to the direct-summation based deconvolution. Both wedge model based synthetic result and ground penetrating radar acquired field data example confirm the effectiveness of the proposed data fusion approach on resolution enhancement.

Abstract:A wavelet packet frequency-shift algorithm for remote sensing image fusion was introduced to solve the problem of serious frequency aliasing caused by dyadic-down sampling. When images were decomposed in the wavelet packet space, the maximal-absolute-value method was employed to calculate high-frequency coefficients, and low-frequency coefficients were calculated by the local energy method. Entropy, cross entropy, spectrum distorting index and edge index were used to estimate the quality of the result image generated by fusing the enhanced thematic mapper (ETM+) multi-spectrum image and the ETM + panchromatic image. Experimental results showed that the proposed method is better than common wavelet packet fusion methods in preserving spectral characteristics and retaining high spatial resolution.

Abstract:In this paper, for dynamic systems which possess different sensors having different sampling rates at different scales, we propose a multiscale stochastic dynamic model with respect to scale rather than time by generalizing the synthesis form of wavelet transform. We present also a multiscale recursive algorithm of data fusion estimation, by which we can obtain the optimal fusion estimates at the finest scale on the basis of all observations. These can be effectively used for data fusion estimation of multisensors dynamic systems at multirate sampling without state model. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is illustrated by computer simulations.
A New Wavelet Image Fusion Algorithm Based on Human Visual System

Abstract:Most of current algorithms of image fusion are based on wavelet transform and the visual characteristics of eyes of human being are not sufficiently taken into account, thus failing to get perfect fusion effect in some circumstances. In this paper, we propose a new wavelet image fusion algorithm based on human visual system. In our algorithm we fully considers the characteristics of human visual system and calculate the relative terms of neighbor region's texture and edge luminance of each pixel at each level to adaptively acquire the weighted fusing coefficients. By using the method of multi\|level iterative fusion, improved fused images are thus generated. Experiments show that our algorithm can achieve quite better fusion effect and is advantageous for human eye to detect and recognize targets.

Abstract:For dealing with the limitation that the acquired image cannot exhibit the whole character of texture object, a novel image fusing algorithm was proposed. This algorithm was based on the property that a great deal of texture information lying in the high frequency sub-band. Two images with redundancy were decomposed by wavelet transform, and the low frequency sub-band was fused by mean operator. After the local edge information in high frequency sub-band was extracted as fusion rule by Gauss-Laplacian operator, the high frequency sub-band was fused according to the similarity between two images with redundancy. Results show that this fusing algorithm can yield much richer texture information and clear images by fusing many images with redundancy, and provide exact foundation for checking defects.

Abstract:Wavelet-based hyperspectral image fusion is a new research subject.In order to enhance the detail of image while keeping spectral characteristic of every band, the variance weighted approach to hyperspectral image fusion based on wavelet transform is proposed. The results of fusion are compared with the traditional wavelet fusion approach. The computer-simulated experiments show that this approach,has the better effect of hyperspectral image fusion.

Abstract:Fusion of the states of a nonlinear dynamic multiscale system (DMS) on the basis of available noisy measurements is one of the well-known key problems in modern control theory. To the best of our knowledge, all of the previous work focused attention on linear DMS. However, nonlinear DMS has never been investigated. In this paper, modeling and fusion estimation of dynamic multiscale system subject to nonlinear measurement equation is proposed. Haar wavelet is used to link the scales. Monte Carlo simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is effective and powerful in this kind of nonlinear dynamic multiscale system estimation problem.

Abstract:A multiscale image fusion method based on wavelet-domain is presented.Different fusion rules are adopted in high-frequency detailed parts and low-frequency approximate parts to overcome the disadvantages in image fusion which are easily disturbed by noise and subjected to loss of detailed imformation.At last,this paper compares the image fusion result with traditional wavelet image fusion and image fusion based on PCA methods through simulation,proving the effectiveness of the new algorithm.

Abstract:The fusion estimation algorithm of a class of dynamic multiscale system based on state space projection is explained for clearly understanding of its essence in this paper. Firstly, the fusion estimation algorithm is compared with that directly performing Kalman filter at the finest scale. Simulation results show that performance of the fusion estimation algorithm outperforms that of directly performing Kalman filter at the finest scale. Secondly, the fusion estimation algorithm is compared with general time registration method in terms of algorithm process and computational cost. It is shown that, time registration is replaced with rigorous mathematical model in the fusion estimation algorithm, and optimal estimation based on measurement information at all scales can be obtained, and at the same time, the computational cost is larger than that of time registration method. It thus lays a foundation for practical application of the fusion estimation algorithm for a class of dynamic multiscale system.

Abstract:This paper investigates the modeling and fusion estimation of a class of dynamic multiscale system (DMS). The state equation at the finest scale is known, and the measurement equations at J scales are also known. There is one sensor distributed at each scale, and the sampling rate of which decreases by a factor of M. M-band wavelet transform is used to build the state space projection equation, and a new state space model that satisfies Kalman filtering condition is derived. Finally, Monte Carlo simulation results are given to obtain insight into the efficiencies offered by our model and algorithm.

Abstract:Zhang presented a new multiresolution multisensor data fusion scheme for dynamic systems to be observed by multisensors of different resolutions. State space projection equation is introduced to associate the states of a system at each resolution with others. A discrete model of the system is built by using Haar wavelet or general compactly supported wavelet as a linear projection operator to approximate the state space projection. In fact, different wavelet corresponds to different sensor structure. For the multiresolution multisensor system with unknown sensor structure, the projection operator should be estimated online. Up to now, this problem has never been investigated. In this brief, the projection operator is estimated by using least-square estimation algorithm and recursive least-square estimation algorithm. The research on projection operator estimation lays a foundation for the popularization and application of the multiresolution multisensor system estimation algorithm in the real system

Abstract:Using the idea of multiscale analysis and by combining the model-based analysis method for dynamic systems with the multiscale signal transformation method,we put forward a new algorithm of multiscale distributed information fusion estimation.For multi-model dynamic systems having different description for target state at different scales, at the finest scale we can obtain the optimal fusion estimates based on global information,which give a primary solution to the information fusion estimation of multiscale dynamic systems.This work enriches and develops the information fusion theory.

Abstract:Image fusion is used to combine multiple images of the same scene into a comprehensive representation. However, an image fusion method does not suit all fusion requirements in practice. In this paper, we introduce an image fusion framework based on wavelet transform, which is designed to satisfy the fusion applications as much as possible. The input images are firstly decomposed into wavelet domain. While analyzing the different frequency coefficients, the principles of fusion are discussed and adaptively assigned according to the properties of subimages. Finally, the fused image can be reconstructed via wavelet inverse transform. The experimental results show that our framework can preserve most features of original images, and the algorithm has some resistance to noise.

Abstract:In order to let each sensor of the multi-sensor system obtain more accurate measurement results, the wavelet-based denoising and the multi-sensor data fusion algorithms are employed to reconstruct outputs of each senor. Simulation and experiment results show that the variances of the reconstructing outputs of each sensor by the proposed algorithm are much smaller than those of the raw outputs of the each sensor. As a result, it can be concluded that the proposed multi-sensor reconstruction algorithm may give more accurate measurement results for the each sensor in the multi-sensor system.

Abstract:Abstract By combining strong tracking filter theory with state fusion estimation algorithm, we put forward a new algorithm of state fusion estimation for a class of nonlinear dynamic systems with all sensors having different sampling rates on the basis of distributed information. The algorithm is also extended to the joint state and parameter estimation of a class of nonlinear systems having time-varying parameters with unknown changing law. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is illustrated by computer simulations, which show that the new algorithm has strong robustness against model/plant mismatches.
Asynchronous Data Fusion Algorithm Based on a Class of Multirate Dynamic Systems

Abstract:An asynchronous data fusion algorithm for a class of linear time-invariant dynamic systems was presented. There were multiple sensors observing the same single target with different sampling rates asynchronously. Firstly,based on multiscale system theory,the system models were established at each coarse scale aimed at each sensor that had lower sampling rates. The states that the sensors with lower sampling rates observed at coarse scales were modeled as the states average at the finest scale of a proper period approximately with the system noises being omitted. The observations of different sensors at different scales were connected with the state at the highest sampling rate. Secondly,the fused state estimation was obtained using Kalman filter and the distributed structure with feedback. The proposed method could avoide the interpolation and augmentation of state or measurement dimensions,and had a good real time property. The measurements with lower sampling rates were used to estimate the state at coarse scales,while the state estimations were regressed to the finest scale and used to update the state estimation at the finest scale. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the fused estimation is better than the Kalman filter result of the sensor with the highest sampling rate,and the algorithm is effective.

Abstract:An optimal linear data fusion algorithm based on dynamic uncertainty theory is presented in this paper.It is suitable for the data processing of dynamic systems whose performances may change with time.It can monitor the sensor's performance and pick out the failure sensors in real-time.Because the adoption of dynamic measurement un- certainty,the algorithm can estimate the quality of the data fusion result in real-time.In addition,the hierarchical fusion algorithm can greatly reduce the measurement uncertainty caused by the truncation in digital computation.
