Abstract:A method of failure diagnosis based on an algorithm of mining association rules with multiple minimum supports is presented.This method is applied to the failure diagnosis of process.The simulation results show that the proposed method is effective for the failure diagnosis.

Abstract:An intelligent fault diagnostic method based on data mining was presented to satisfy the development requirements of computer numerical control(CNC) machine tools' intelligence.The framework of intelligent fault diagnosis unit was established consisting of characteristic signal acquisition,diagnosis rule extraction and fault reasoning mechanism.The approach of diagnosis rule extraction was studied and an algorithm for acquisition of decision rules was proposed.The algorithm simplified the analysis procedure of core properties and unnecessary properties by using the characteristics of decision-making system and calculated reduction set by backward tracking approach.The algorithm reduced the complexity in reduction set calculation and improved the efficiency of rule extraction.A fault identification mechanism using evidence theory was presented to process fault data collected by various sensors and exactly match them with diagnosis rules.Case study justified the validity of the method.

Abstract:In order to improve the shortcomings of the original dynamic association rule(DAR for short),this paper presents a new kind of DAR,which can reflect the dynamic information of rule with time better.Its defintions of support vector and confidence vector are accord with the classical defintions of support and confidence.Two new mining algorithms are also provided,which are ITS algorithm and EFP-growth algorithm.ITS algorithm has two stages,and can be well comprehended.EFP-growth algorithm is based on extended FP-tree and suitable for large volumes of data with high density.The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm has good performance and is fit for mining DARs.

Abstract:Association rules mining can find the potential rules between items in itemsets and the research of its application on fault diagnosis is valuable.There are some weaknesses in data discretization and minimum support confirming in traditional algorithm of mining association rules.Accroding to the existing algorithm of mining fuzzy association rules,an Improved Fuzzy Association Rules algorithm(IFAR) will be proposed in this paper.IFAR use a intelligent method based on k-means clustering to acquire the parameters of membership functions,which overcomes the hard boundary problem and blindness caused by man-made in traditional algorithm.A kind of multiple minmum support is used to enhances the quality of mining result,which can avoid mining short rules of less meaning and help finding significative long rules.An last,validity and accuracy of using IFAR in fault diagnosis are proved by an experiment of rotary machinery fault.

Abstract:According to the fault types and characteristics of vacuum system of large aluminium vacuum brazing furnace,main problems of the existent fault diagnosis of vacuum system are analyzed.A fuzzy Petri net model and reasoning algorithm is represented which are based on the fault tree analysis,aiming at the uncertainty and fuzziness of fault diagnosis of the large vacuum system.And the example of fault diagnosis of diffusion pump not working the validity and efficiency of our model and algorithm are proved.

Abstract:Mining association rules are an important data mining problem. In this paper ,an association rules mining algorithm,ARDBSO,which is based on set operation,is given. It can find all large itemsets in the database while only scan the database once. So,the time for I/O is reduced enormously and the efficiency of ARDBSO is improved. The experiments show that the efficiency of ARDBSO is 80～ 150times of Apriori's.

Abstract:In association rule mining,the traditional statistical measures,such as support and confidence,tend to generate too many spurious patterns,which cannot reflect user's requirement accurately.In order to solve this problem and obtain rule knowledge based on end users' real demand,this work proposed a new benefit measure according to the view of decision-making.The anti-monotony property about the new measure was proved,and the relationship and transforming method between constraint template and benefit measure were investigated.Moreover,an effective association rule mining algorithm PCBARM was presented.Experimental results showed the effectiveness of the benefit measure and the efficiency of PCBARM algorithm.The proposed measure not only can be used as a general realization algorithm for rule template but also provides more precise control.

Abstract:Since the iron-making process is performed in complicated environments and controlled by operators, observation labeling is difficult and time-consuming. Therefore, unsupervised fault detection methods are a promising research topic. Recently, an unsupervised graph-based change point detection method has been introduced, and the graph of observations is constructed by the minimum spanning tree. In this paper, a novel fault detection method based on the graph for an iron-making process is proposed, and a weight calculation method for constructing the minimum spanning tree is introduced. The Euclidean distance and Mahalanobis distance are combined to calculate the weights in the minimum spanning tree, which contain important relations of variables. The distance calculation method is determined by the correlation coefficients of variables. Each testing observation is set as a change point candidate, and a change point candidate divides the observations into two groups. The number of a special type of edge in the minimum spanning tree is used as a fault detection statistic. That special edge connects two observations from two different groups. The minimum number of that type of edge corresponding to the change point candidate is a true change point. Finally, numerical simulation is used to test the power of the proposed method, and a real iron-making process including low stock, cooling, and slip faults is implemented to illustrate the effectiveness of fault detection in industrial processes.

Abstract:Mining association rules are a major aspect of data mining research, and maintaining discovered association rules are of equal importance. In this thesis, we analyze a previously proposed algorithm IUA and point out its disadvantages and errors and manage to correct these errors. Furthermore we have proposed an improved incremental maintaining algorithm EIUA. Assuming that database \$D\$ is not updated, EIUA has solved the problem of how to maintain discovered association rules efficiently when the two thresholds, minimum support and confidence, change. The experiments have shown the availability and superiority of the new algorithm.

Abstract:To overcome the failure in eliminating suspicious patterns or association rules existing in traditional association rules mining, we propose a novel method to mine item-item and between-set correlated association rules. First, we present three measurements: the association, correlation, and item-set correlation measurements. In the association measurement, the all-confidence measure is used to filter suspicious cross-support patterns, while the all-item-confidence measure is applied in the correlation measurement to eliminate spurious association rules that contain negatively correlated items. Then, we define the item-set correlation measurement and show its corresponding properties. By using this measurement, spurious association rules in which the antecedent and consequent item-sets are negatively correlated can be eliminated. Finally, we propose item-item and between-set correlated association rules and two mining algorithms, I&ISCoMine_AP and I&ISCoMine_CT. Experimental results with synthetic and real retail datasets show that the proposed method is effective and valid.

Abstract:After analyzing the characteristics of multiple failure modes,established the case knowledge database for the multiple fault,and proposed a multiple faults diagnosis method based on the two-step case retrieval strategy.Employed the weight membership to generate the initial candidate cases,which reduced the number of candidate cases greatly.Subsequently,obtained the most probable fault case through the calculation of case similarity with the grey relational analysis,which avoided the problem of time-consuming computation resulting from the combination explosion of multiple faults.Finally,embedded an example in the description of the methodology for better understanding.

Abstract:The continual improvement of service processes is an important way to improve service process management,but the real causes of service failures are difficult to identify.This paper presents a service fault recognition and improvement approach based on association rules mining.The method provides a decision-making warrant for enterprises to effectively improve service processes. This approach identifies the bug cause and result restriction,the pre-rule restriction,the improvement rate restriction,and the novelty restriction to improve traditional association rules arithmetic.Experiments show that this approach reduces the number of rules and the run-times with improved efficiency compared with the traditional association rules method.

Abstract:Focuses on rough set theory and the genetic algorithms and theories on their integration mechanism based on the study of the failure diagnosis on gas turbine-set, A new algorithm were put forward in the discretization of continuous attribute, attribute reduction and value reduction methods based on the classical set theory and rough set theory and solved the difficult problem which expert system to obtain the rules in the paper. Abstract:Association rules is one of the main research fields in data mining, and to gain the more valuable rules is a focus in this field. But most of the most current algorithms can only find out the positive-item rules and the interest measure can only be used as a filter. To solve this problem, an idea to find out the negative-item-contained rules is forword put through modification of the related definition and through the introduction of the negative itemset, based on the previous work. The algorithm based on this idea is also given. Finally, the algorithm is evaluated and analyzed through experiments and practices.

Abstract:Nowadays, communication network turns to be more complex, once there occurs a failure, there will result in multi-alarm-events which require relevant transactions. This paper describes the alarm correlation in communication networks based on data mining. The association rules from self-adaptation for dynamic net-work resource and service that build new rule by fully utilizing and maintaining rules formed before while transactions grow/delete or minimum support changes which enables the framework is easily updated and new discovery methods be readily incorporated within it. Both theoretical analysis and computer simulations illustrate outstanding performance of the proposed models, which can be further optimized by experiments for specific environment.

Abstract:Association rules have been widely used for detecting relations between attribute-value pairs of categorical datasets. Existing solutions of mining interesting association rules are based on the support-confidence theory. However, it is non-trivial for the user to understand and modify the rules or the results of intermediate steps in the mining process, because the interestingness of rules might differ largely for various tasks and users. In this paper we propose to reinforce conventional association rule mining process by mapping the entire process into a visualization assisted loop, with which the user workload for modulating parameters and mining rules is reduced, and the mining efficiency is greatly improved. A matrix-based visualization technique is employed to encode the measure computation value, the data distribution and the intermediate results. We also design a set of visual exploration tools to support interactively inspection and manipulation of association measures, constraints of different types, and the results of intermediate steps. The effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated with various scenarios.

Abstract:As one of most important aspects of condition-based maintenance (CBM), failure prognosis has attracted an increasing attention with the growing demand for higher operational efficiency and safety in industrial systems. Currently there are no effective methods which can predict a hidden failure of a system real-time when there exist influences from the changes of environmental factors and there is no such an accurate mathematical model for the system prognosis due to its intrinsic complexity and operating in potentially uncertain environment. Therefore, this paper focuses on developing a new hidden Markov model (HMM) based method which can deal with the problem. Although an accurate model between environmental factors and a failure process is difficult to obtain, some expert knowledge can be collected and represented by a belief rule base (BRB) which is an expert system in fact. As such, combining the HMM with the BRB, a new prognosis model is proposed to predict the hidden failure real-time even when there are influences from the changes of environmental factors. In the proposed model, the HMM is used to capture the relationships between the hidden failure and monitored observations of a system. The BRB is used to model the relationships between the environmental factors and the transition probabilities among the hidden states of the system including the hidden failure, which is the main contribution of this paper. Moreover, a recursive algorithm for online updating the prognosis model is developed. An experimental case study is examined to demonstrate the implementation and potential applications of the proposed real-time failure prognosis method.

Abstract:A new method of fault diagnosis of the rough set theory is presented in this paper. The new method is divided into the following step: first, the condition attributes of the fault diagnosis system are divided to establish the decision tables of the rough set; second, according to incompatible calculation way and reduction theories of rough set, the decision tables are reduced; then according to minimum method of the rough set, the divided minimum decision tables are calculated; finally, compose divided minimum tables, the minimum decision set of whole system is established. Compare with directly set up the decision table, the main advantage of the method: the rule number of the decision table only is 1/5 of original decision table, make reduced work simplify; the process of reduction and minimum is simple and direct. Based on the method, a kind equipment of the gas fault diagnosis and onoff conversion of two partial fans is designed and made, and checking before acceptance is success in the Shaanxi Tongchuan Coal Mine.
