Abstract:High performance PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bridge IP (Intellectual Property) compliant with the PCI 2.2 specification is designed and two circuit structures with improved reusablity is proposed. Key techniques are analyzed. A verification platform of PCI protocol is built to facilitate performance tests including PCI compatibility. In order to ensure the correctness of the testing platform, a method of format examination is adopted to realize the correct description of PCI protocol.

Abstract:With the improvement of the performance of all components of computers ,Shared Bus, which is the kernelof the traditional computer architecture,has gradually become the bottleneck of the system. This paper presents thelimitations of the Shared Bus. From analyzing the new specifications of the bus ,which are used to solve the bottleneckbrought by shared bus ,it sums up the characteristics of the new technologies from their orientations in the level of thearchitecture. Then by analyzing and comparing the advantages of each new technology ,this paper points out the neworientation of the bus technology.

Abstract:The system architecture of high-speed bus was studied to improve the control system communication speed and efficiency.A FPGA based high-speed bus applied in control system was designed and implemented,which is high real-time,high throughput,easy to expand and so on.The physical layer was based on multipoint-low-voltage differential signaling(M-LVDS) standard to achieve 256 Mbps serial communication.Multi-path optimization selection network redundancy through real-time link state maintenance was used in data link layer to ensure reliable communications while maximizing bandwidth utilization.The design was implemented on Xilinx XC3S400A FPGA and actual tests were done.Results show that communication speed and real-time performance are improved significantly compared with the current mainstream bus of control system,and the needs of upper applications are met to the greatest degree.

Abstract:Distributed control system plays an important part in the application of satellite systems. However, there are integrated requirements (i.e., reliability, real-time capability, expandability, commonality, usability, economy and efficiency) for communication in these systems often used in hostile environments. The work presented here relates to a protocol named IRCBus (Industry High-Reliability Configurable Bus), which supports these requirements. And it also offers practical solutions. First of all, the protocol is formulated based on ISO/OSI (International Organization Standardization /Open System Interconnection) model and it includes four layers: Physical, DataLink, Network and Transport. And it proposes new ideas and improved methods in each layer draft and realization for these requirements. Then the high reliability is guaranteed by hot backup, three redundancy, bus isolation, retransmission law, data check and intrinsically safe explosion-proof; the real-time capability is realized by hardware system based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and software system; the expandability for bus functions and network size is considered during the whole design; the usability is solved by system management function, installing law and uninstalling law; the low cost are achieved as follows: adopting common cable as transmission media; utilizing existing chip RS485 chip with rational circuit; the efficiency is improved by taking advantage of 8-bit data and 9-bit data in UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) protocol and other features. Moreover, it analyzes the protocol from communication principle perspectives. Lastly, in conclusion, it provides some discussion about extensions for Presentation layer (the sixth layer in ISO/OSI) and bus drive. rds: Protocol, IRCBus, Field bus

Abstract:With the emergence of the concept of virtual satellite and the increasing demands for exchanging data in or between electronic systems,reliable wireless interconnection between spatially separated devices is of great interest recently.This paper studied the technical characteristics of both impulse radio Ultra Wide-Band(IR-UWB) and on-board data bus protocols.It was concluded that IR-UWB could be utilized as the physical layer of data bus to provide a solution for the reliable wireless interconnections between terminals.In order to testify the feasibility of this solution,we carried out a wireless data exchanging experiment between 1553B terminals using IR-UWB.The results of the experiment indicate that IR-UWB is a potential physical medium for wireless bus network.

Abstract:This article analyzes characteristics and theory of SPI in detail, and addresses hardware and software design issues of SPI interface. A message specification is presented that supports the communications between DSPs. It is used to implement the point-to-point communication between two DSPs. The method verified by experiments is simple and reliable.

Abstract:Introduced a Serial Concurrent Bus which can be applied to distributed multi-channel data acquisition system to ensure the synchronization,timeliness and ordering of the system.Serial Concurrent Bus has the advantages such as good synchronization,high data rates,simple realization,and strong extensibility.Results of the tests show that the Serial Concurrent Bus implements data rates of 12.288M Bps over 150 m,and achieves a less than 80 ns synchronous error between 13 sampling modules which are 50 m apart from each other,well proved the feasibility and the reliability of solution.With little modification,it can be applied to other similar data acquisition systems.

Abstract:I2C bus is a serial communication bus that is widely used in embedded system. It is based on SCL (Serial Clock Line) and SDA (Serial Data Line), to support bi-directional communication between multiple interconnected devices in a master-slave structure. Based on the traditional characteristics and operating principle of I2C protocol, this paper has proposed an innovative I2C-Compatible design for slave based on asynchronous circuit, which is compatible with standard I2C protocol. It is characterized by switchable communication speed, supporting a maximum speed of 3.4 Mbps, ultra-low power and small hardware cost. To ensure reliable communication system, a Schmitt-RC filter and the structure of fine-tuning phase are adopted in our design. After RTL simulation and logic synthesis, the design is verified on FPGA platform communicated with MCU I2C master interface, and finish Placement and Route. The proposed design is fabricated on Dongbu 0.18μm CMOS process, and the test on chip level is carried out after tape-out. The results show that the I2C bus for slave has excellent performance, power and area (PPA) compared with traditional I2C bus, which is very suitable for end-side devices in the IOT and Smart City.

Abstract:Bus design methodology for the HDTV system-on-a-chip (SoC) decoder is presented. Time sliced arbitration scheme, incorporated with synchronization control of HDTV decoding, is employed in the bus design process. The bus data transmissions are scheduled elaborately to cooperate with the HDTV decoding process. The objective of proposed bus design approach is to utilize the bus bandwidth efficiently and reduce the amount of internal data buffers sufficiently. Following this approach, hardware cost can be reduced while the required real time performance is assured.

Abstract:With the advancements in electronics, interests in interconnect and package in high-speed circuits are greatly increased. For precise timing among high-speed modules to synchronize signals and harmonize communication between modules, interconnect need be designed with high accuracy and are often meandered to equalize delay. The paper will present the investigations on the effects of different serpentine interconnect lines with various spacing, thickness and rise/fall edges on delay with a full-wave numerical technique, the finite-difference time-domain method. The insights and results acquired can be used to verify and optimize interconnect and timing designs for signal integrity purposes.

Abstract:This paper describes the storage design of the digital storage oscilloscope based on I~2C.The design makes use of part of the locations of FM24CL04 which is an I~2C CMOS chip,as the storage index in the storage flash chip,realizes waveform and setting data store,callback and reclaims abandonable data.This paper introduces the information of I~2C protocol and chip first,then gives the particular flow using a table,the sound code of garbage collection.The evaluation of this result is given at last.

Abstract:The design and the implementation of logical circuit between POS PHY and IX BUS are studied. It is a design of data conversion between link layer and physical layer. The structure of system and the basic functions of interface logic are described, some key technology, such as clock design and VOQ design, are introduced. Experimental results in the actual system are obtained. Results show that the method of data conversion by the logic and the realization in a single FPGA is feasible and reliable.

Abstract:Achieving high speed and reliability is a key challenge in on-chip bus design. To address the challenge, in this paper we propose a fault model for on-chip communication and further develop a new joint scheme which integrates an equalization technique and special spacing rules for improving the speed and communication reliability for on-chip buses. The proposed equalizer employs a variable threshold inverter whose switching threshold is adjusted as a function of the past output of the buses to achieve high-speed and high-reliability of the buses. Special spacing rules use the sufficient spacing between the adjacent wires to mitigate the crosstalk effect from the adjacent wires. The joint scheme equalization and special spacing rules exploits their respective advantages to further improve the speed and communication reliability of the buses. The simulation results show that the joint scheme equalization and increasing spacing of the uncoded bus can reduce 50% delay and save 42% power only with 52% area overhead compared with the minimum-spaced uncoded bus. The bit error rate of the bus can be improved from 10(-5) to 10(-24). (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Because the common mature serial bus technology has the defects of a complex control and a redundant serial bus protocol while used in the small-scale distributed measurement and control system, a TDMA-based high-speed simplified serial bus technology is proposed in this paper. The composition of the bus system and the definitions of the bus signal line are introduced. The basic features, electrical characteristics, data formats and TDMA communication control programs of the serial bus system are analyzed in detail. Besides, a programmable device based verification system is built and the simulation experiment of the serial bus is operated. The results show that the serial bus technology is feasible.
