Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of solutions to the centroaffine Minkowski problem, namely the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space R n + 1 \mathbb {R}^{n+1} with prescribed centroaffine curvature. This problem can be described as a variational problem with a functional resembling Kantorovich’s dual functional in optimal transportation. By using the Gauss curvature flow, we obtain new conditions for the existence of solutions to the problem.

Abstract:By using the interior curvature estimate and Gromov's compactness theorem, we prove that a stable complete minimal hypersurface in R n +1 with finite total scalar curvature must be a hyperplane. This extends the result obtained by P. Bérard in Remarques sur l'équation de J. Simons, Pitman Monographs Surveys Pure Appl. Math. , vol. 52, 1991, pp. 47-57.

Abstract:The contribution of this paper is two-fold. The first one is to derive a simple formula of the mean curvature form for a hypersurface in the Randers space with a Killing field, by considering the Busemann-Hausdorff measure and Holmes-Thompson measure simultaneously. The second one is to obtain the explicit local expressions of two types of nontrivial rotational BH-minimal surfaces in a Randers domain of constant flag curvature K=-1, which are the first examples of BH-minimal surfaces in the hyperbolic Randers space.

Abstract:We construct compact arbitrary Euler characteristic orientable and non-orientable minimal surfaces in the Berger spheres. Besides we show an interesting family of surfaces that are minimal in every Berger sphere, characterizing them by this property. Finally we construct, via the Daniel correspondence, new examples of constant mean curvature surfaces in the products S^2 x R, H^2 x R and in the Heisenberg group with many symmetries.

Abstract:Consider an orientable compact surface in three dimensional Euclidean space with minimum total absolute curvature. If the Gaussian curvature changes sign to finite order and satisfies a nondegeneracy condition along closed asymptotic curves, we show that any other isometric surface differs by at most a Euclidean motion.

Abstract:We develop a compactness result near the boundary for families of locally convex immersions. We also develop a mod 2 degree theory for immersion of constant (and prescribed) Gaussian curvature with prescribed boundary. These are then used to solve the Plateau problem for immersions of constant (and prescribed) Gaussian curvature in general Hadamard manifolds.

Abstract:We generalize Shi and Tam's (J Differ Geom 62(1):79–125, 2002) nonnegativity result for the Brown–York mass, by considering nonnegative scalar curvature (NNSC) fill-ins that need only be complete rather than compact. Moreover, the NNSC fill-ins need not even be complete as long the incompleteness is "shielded" by a region with positive scalar curvature and occurs sufficiently far away. We accomplish this by generalizing Miao's (Adv Theor Math Phys 6:1163–1182, 2002) positive mass theorem with corners to asymptotically flat manifolds that may have other complete ends, or possibly incomplete ends that are appropriately shielded. We can similarly extend other results on the compact NNSC fill-in problem to allow for complete (or shielded) NNSC fill-ins. In particular, we prove the following generalization of a theorem of Miao (Proc Am Math Soc 149:2705–2709, 2021): Given any metric on a closed manifold , there exists a constant such that for any complete (or shielded) NNSC fill-in of , we have , where H is the mean curvature of with respect to g .

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that $S^{{n - 1}} {\left( {{\sqrt {\frac{{n - m}}{n}} }} \right)} \times S^{1} {\left( {{\sqrt {\frac{m}{n}} }} \right)}$and round geodesic spheres are the only n-dimensional compact embedded rotation hypersurfaces with H m = 0 (1 ≤ m ≤ n − 1) in a unit sphere Sn+1(1). When m = 1, our result reduces to the result of T. Otsuki [O1], [O2], Brito and Leite [BL].

This involves a blow-up analysis of a Yamabe equation with critical Sobolev exponents both in the interior and on the boundary.

Abstract:Dans les ann\'ees 1940-1970, Alexandrov et l'"\'Ecole de Leningrad" ont d\'evelopp\'e une th\'eorie tr\`es riche des surfaces singuli\`eres. Il s'agit de surfaces topologiques, munie d'une m\'etrique intrins\`eque pour laquelle on peut d\'efinir une notion de courbure, qui est une mesure de Radon. Cette classe de surfaces a de bonnes propri\'et\'es de convergence et elle est remarquablement stable par rapport \`a diverses constructions g\'eom\'etriques (recollements etc.). Elle englobe les surfaces poly\'edrales ainsi que les surfaces riemanniennes de classe $C^2$ ; ces deux classes formant des parties denses de l'espace des surfaces d'Alexandrov. Toute surface singuli\`ere qu'on peut raisonnablement imaginer est une surface d'Alexandrov et de nombreuses propri\'et\'es g\'eom\'etriques des surfaces lisses s'\'etendent et se g\'en\'eralisent aux surfaces d'Alexandrov. Le but de cet expos\'e est de donner une introduction non technique \`a la th\'eorie d'Alexandrov, de donner des exemples et quelques-uns des faits fondamentaux de la th\'eorie. Abstract:This article mainly contains two theorems. In the first theorem, we obtain an upper bound for the area of isoperimetric surface that encloses small volume in a compact 3-manifold of which the scalar curvature is not less than the scalar curvature of corresponding space form. We also indicate that the 3-manifold must have constant sectional curvature when the upper bound is attained. In the second theorem, we assume the closed 3-manifold has nonnegative Ricci curvature, finite fundamental group and its scalar curvature is not less than $6$. Under these conditions, if the area of a cetain isoperimetric surface lies in a specific interval, then we will have an upper bound estimate for the volume of the 3-manifold.

Abstract:We establish a nice orthonormal frame field on a closed surface minimally immersed in a unit sphere $S^{n}$, under which the shape operators take very simple forms. Using this frame field, we obtain an interesting property $K+K^{N}=1$ for the Gauss curvature $K$ and the normal curvature $K^{N}$ if the Gauss curvature is positive. Moreover, using this property we obtain the pinching on the intrinsic curvature and normal curvature, the pinching on the normal curvature, respectively.
