Abstract:Notice of Retraction After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE's Publication Principles. We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper. The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org. We present an enriched multiscale finite element method (MFEM) for solving the singularly perturbed reaction-diffusion problem, and our multiscale space is constructed by two parts, which are the multiscale basis in the optimal-width boundary layers domain, plus the standard linear basis in the smooth domain. Since the multiscale basis can express the local perturbed information automatically, our method is capable of reducing the boundary layer errors remarkably. And through numerical experiments the method not only acquires good accuracy, but also obtains second order convergence rate for the L2 norm and first order convergence rate for the energy norm on the coarse uniform grid.

We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper. The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org. In this paper, a numerical model DIVAST (Depth Integrated Velocities And Solute Transport), which can predict two-dimensional depth-integrated tidal flows and solute transport, has been refined and set up to stimulate hydrodynamic and sediment transport processes. The highly accurate ULTIMATE QUICKEST scheme has been used to represent the advective terms in solving the advective-diffusion equation for suspended sediment transport. The model has been applied to simulate tidal flows and sediment fluxes in the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary in the U.K. The predicted velocities and water elevations have been compared with three sets of Admiralty Chart data. Comparisons between the numerical model predictions of sediment fluxes and field data were made at two sites along the estuary where field data existed. The resulting comparisons are encouraging.

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. There were serious questions about the validity of the data contained in these articles: " … the Western blot bands in … papers are all very regularly spaced and have a smooth appearance in the shape of a dumbbell or tadpole, without any of the usual smudges or stains. All bands are placed on similar looking backgrounds, suggesting they were copy/pasted from other sources, or computer generated". Based on the latter findings, the Editor-in-Chief requested the authors to provide the raw data. However, the authors were not willing and/or able to fulfil this request and therefore the Editor-in-Chief decided to retract the article. As a consequence the writing in this article misled and deceived reviewers and readers of the journal and thus as a whole represents a gross misuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
