Abstract:Two new quinolizidine-based alkaloids, ochrocephalamines E (1) and F (2) were isolated from Oxytropis ochrocephala Bunge (Fabaceae). Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. Compound 1 represented the first 14-nor matrine with 6/6/6/5 ring system, while compound 2 shared the aloperine-type scaffold including the carbonyl group at C-10 postition. The inhibitory activities of 2 against the secretion of HBsAg and HBeAg were respectively 22.34 +/- 4.38% and 18.00 +/- 5.01% at the noncytotoxic concentration of 1 x 10-5 mol/L, which were more active than the positive control hyperoside (16.09% and 12.23%). The binding mode between compound 2 and HBV core protein was illustrated by molecular docking. (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract:In order to make clear the alkaloid constituents of poisonous plant Oxytropis ochrocephala dis-tributed in natural grassland and provide the further theoretical basement for toxicology,pharmacology and comprehensive utilization of this plant,the BuOH exact of Oxytropis ochrocephala was purified by means of various chromatographic techniques such as silica gel column,Sephadex LH-20 gel,RP-18 and semipreparative HPLC.As the result,two alkaloids were obtained and their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis as (+)-9α-hydroxymatrine (1),(-)-9α-hydroxysophocarpine (2).Compounds 1-2 were i-solated from the plants genus Oxytropis for the first time.

Abstract:Eight alkaloids were isolated from Oxytropis ochrocephala Bunge. Their structures were identified as sophoridine( 1),sophoramine( 2),isosophoridine( 3),matrine( 4),7,11-dehydromatrine( 5),sophocarpine( 6),lupanine( 7) and swainsonine( 8) by ESI-MS,1H NMR and13 C NMR analyses. Compounds 1-6 were isolated from Oxytropis genus for the first time.

Abstract:Two new stilbenoids, stemobenoids A (1) and B (2), together with three known compounds were obtained from the roots of Stemona tuberosa. The structures of the new compounds were established by extensive spectroscopic analysis, including HRMS, 1D and 2D NMR data. Compounds 1 and 2 displayed potent quinone reductase inducing activity in Hepa 1c1c7 cells.

Abstract:Three unusual sesterterpenoids featuring unprecedented rearranged colquhounane (C25) and tetranorcolquhounane (C21) frameworks, colquhounoids E (1) and F (3) and norcolquhounoid F (2), were isolated from a Lamiaceae medicinal plant Colquhounia coccinea var. mollis. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and quantum chemical calculations. A biomimetic inspired regioselective cyclopropane cleavage was achieved under acidic conditions. The immunosuppressive activities of these new sesterterpenoids were also evaluated.
Quinoline alkaloids from the roots of Orixa japonica with the Anti‐pathogenic Fungi Activities

Abstract:A new quinoline alkaloid, 5‐hydroxy‐6‐methoxy‐N‐methyl‐2‐phenylquinoline‐4‐one (1), and seventeen known quinoline alkaloids (2‐18) were isolated from the roots of Orixa japonica. The structure of 1 was determined by analysis of spectroscopic data. Among them, compounds 2, 3, and 13 were isolated from this plant for the first time. All isolates were screened for the anti‐pathogenic fungi activities, including Rhizoctonia solani, Magnaporthe oryzae, and Phomopsis sp.. The results showed that five compounds (4, 8, 10, 11, and 12) exhibited significant anti‐pathogenic fungi effects at 50.0 μg/mL. In special, compound 10 exhibited the best antifungal activities toward R. solani and M. oryzae with the IC50 values of 37.86 and 44.72 μM, respectively, better than that of the positive control, hymexazol (IC50 121.21 and 1518.18 μM, respectively). Moreover, eleven new quinoline alkaloids derivatives (12a‐12k) were designed and synthesized to investigate the structure‐activity relationships (SARs). The SARs analysis indicated that the furo [2, 3‐b] quinoline skeleton and the methoxy at C‐7 (compounds 8, 11, and 12) played a key role for improving the antifungal activities

Abstract:Fumiquinazoline L (1), an alkaloid with a heptacyclic skeleton formed via a bridging hemiaminal linkage, was isolated from a gorgonian-derived Scopulariopsis sp. fungus. The structure and absolute configuration of the new compound were identified by comprehensive spectroscopic data and X-ray diffraction analysis. During acid hydrolysis of 1, the isomerization of the valine residue was observed and also studied in different conditions. Fumiquinazoline L (1) showed no cytotoxic or antibacterial activities.

Abstract:A new matrine-type alkaloid, (-)-14 beta-hydroxyoxymatrine (1), was isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Sophora tonkinensis Gapnep. (Leguminosae), together with five known matrine-type alkaloids, (-)-14 beta-hydroxymatrine (2), (+)-oxymatrine (3), (+)-matrine (4), (+)-sophoranol (5), and (-)-5 alpha-hydroxysophocarpine (6), as well as with two known cytisine-type alkaloids, (-)cytisine (7) and (-)-N-methylcytisine (8). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Compounds 1, 5 and 7 showed potent anti-HBV activity with an inhibitory potency against HBsAg secretion of 22.6%, 31.1% and 33.2%, and against HBeAg secretion of 30.4%, 26.3% and 27.8%, respectively.

Abstract:A new anthraquinone, 2,5,8-trihydroxy-1-methoxyanthraquinone (1), was isolated from the roots of Morinda officinalis together with two anthraquinones, 1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone (2) and anthragallol-1,3-dimethylether (3), and two iridoids, ningpogenin (4) and monotropein methyl ester (5). The structure of 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 1D, 2D NMR, HR-MS, and IR. This is the first report of compounds 2–5 from the genus Morinda.

Abstract:Phytohemical investigation of the EtOAc extract of leaves and stems of Bulbophyllum kwangtungense Schlecht., belonging to the orchid family was carried out. Two new stilbenods were isolated by repeat column chromatography and characterized: one is bibenzyl compound, 5-(2, 3-dimethoxyphenethyl)-6-methylbenzo [d] [1, 3] dioxole (1), and the other dibenz [b, f] oxepine, 10, 11-dihydro-2, 7-dimethoxy-3, 4-methylenedioxy dibenzo b, f] oxepine (2). Their structures were established on the basis of analyses of spectroscopic evidence, particularly by two-dimensional NMR spectroscopic analysis. Bibenzyl compound with a methyl group in the benzene ring is rarely found from natural sources. Natural oxepines are very rare, and most of them were reported to have good anti-tumor activities. In addition, anti-tumor activities of the new compounds were also evaluated. Among the compounds isolated, compound 2 showed anti-tumor activities with IC50 value of 47.2 mu g/mL in vitro against cultures of Hela cells.

Abstract:One new monoterpene alkaloid (1) and eight known compounds (2-9), belonging to two monoterpene alkaloids (1-2), one pyridine alkaloid (3), four phenylpropanoid derivatives (4-7), and two matrine-type alkaloids (8-9), were isolated from Rauvolfia vomitoria Afzel. The structure of new compound 1 was determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculation. Notably, this is the first reported monoterpene alkaloids from R. vomitoria. Besides, compounds 3, 5, and 7-9 were first discovered in the Apocynaceae family and compounds 4 and 6 were first reported in the Rauvolfia genus. This is also the first example of matrine-type alkaloids reported in the Apocynaceae family, indicating that matrine-type alkaloids are not unique to the Leguminosae/Fabaceae family. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their anti-acetylcholinesterase, anti-alpha-glucosidase, and antioxidant activities. Compound 6 showed significant alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity and remarkable DPPH radical scavenging capacity, both of which are superior to the positive controls. Molecular docking of compound 6 with alpha-glucosidase was further performed, suggesting that compound 6 could form hydrogen bonds with residues ALA-292, ASN-259, and ARG-263.

Abstract:A new acylated flavonoid, 3-O-rhamnocitrin-6-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), together with five known flavonoids, rhamnocitrin (2), pratensein (3), (3R)-7,3′-dihydroxy-2′,4′-dimethoxyisoflavan (4), (3R)-7,2′-dihydroxy-3′,4′-dimethoxyisoflavan (5) and isoliquiritigenin (6), was isolated from Oxytropis ochrocephala Bunge. The structural elucidation of the isolated compounds was primarily based on HRESIMS, IR and 1-D- and 2-D-NMR analyses.

Abstract:Two new 1,3-oxazin-6-one derivatives (1 and 2) and six new bohemamine-type pyrrolizidine alkaloids (3-8) were isolated from the marine-derived Streptomyces spinoverrucosus strain SNB-048. Their structures including the absolute configurations were fully elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, ECD spectra, quantum chemical calculations, and chemical methods. Compounds 1 and 2 possess a γ-lactam moiety and a 1,3-oxazin-6-one system.

Abstract:Two new bisorbicillinoids, named oxosorbiquinol ( 1 ) and dihydrooxosorbiquinol ( 2 ), were isolated from a deep-sea fungus, Phialocephala sp., and their structures established using spectroscopic methods.
