Abstract:Here we report a mild Ag-catalyzed domino acetalization reaction using quinoline-2-carboxylates, which were substructures in a number of natural products. Methanol was directly utilized as the source of the acetal part. The main features of the domino reaction include the Minisci reaction, oxidation, and acetalization. Hydrogen fluoride generated in-situ participates in the Minisci reaction, and no external acids were needed. This domino reaction provides a simple and versatile route to heteroaromatic acetals under mild condition with good functional group tolerance using methanol. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. Abstract:A two-step one-pot procedure for the synthesis of amino alcohols mediated by 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethvlhvdantoin (DBH) in aqueous acetone solution was developed. Styrene derivatives were treated with DBH at room temperature for 0.5 similar to 2.0 h followed by the addition of amine, affording the corresponding amino alcohols in 64%similar to 88% yields. Tulobuterol, a widely used beta 2-adrenergic agonist, was prepared by this protocol in gram scale with the yield of 77%.

Abstract:Functionalized ketene dithioacetals are important intermediates in organic synthesis.α-Functionalization reactions based on them provide potential precursors for the construction of usefully carbo-and heterocyclic compounds.In this paper,a versatileα-bromination of functionalized ketene dithioacetals was developed.In the presence of H2 O,the reactions of functionalized ketene dithioacetals(1) with CuBr 2 in THF at room temperature gave variousα-bromo ketene dithioacetals(2) in excellent yields with high regioselectivities.The mechanism of thisα-bromination is proposed to undergo an addition of bromine formed in situ to compound 1 and sequontial elimination of theα-proton.The simplicity of execution,mild conditions,inexpensive,easily usable brominating agent and high yields,make this synthetic method attractive for practical applications.

Abstract:A copper-catalyzed decarboxylative coupling reaction of potassium alkynyl carboxylates with 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes was developed for the synthesis of unsymmetrical 1,3-diyne and 1,3,5-triyne derivatives. Diverse aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, and alkyl substituted 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes can react smoothly with aryl and alkyl substituted propiolates to produce unsymmetrical 1,3-diynes and 1,3,5-triynes with high selectivity and good functional group compatibility.

Abstract:An efficient method of Titanium(IV) mediated one-pot reaction approaching aromatic homoallylic alcohols from aldehydes and dual Grignard reagents was developed with good isolated yields. This method could use aromatic-, heteroaromatic-, or aliphatic-aldehydes as starting materials. However, electron-riched benzaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde tended to precede further hydroxyl eliminations to give all conjugated structures as demonstrated.

Abstract:A facile one-pot synthesis of functionalized (E)-β -arylvinyl bromides bearing various 4-alkoxycarbonyl and 4-aryloxycarbonyl groups was achieved by debrominative decarboxylation of anti-2,3- dibromo-3-(4-carboxyphenyl)propanoic acid in the presence of AgOAc and subsequent esterification in the presence of dicyclohexyl carbodiimide and dimethylaminopyridine. This method gives (E)-β - arylvinyl bromides in high stereoselectivities and high yields, and tolerates aldehyde, ester, and nitro functional groups.

Abstract:A highly efficient synthesis of α-diazoketone was achieved by simply stirring the mixture of 1,3-diketone, TsN3, and MeNH2 in EtOH. It was a tandem reaction including a novel primary amine-catalyzed Regitz diazo transfer of 1,3-diketone and a novel primary amine-mediated C-C bond cleavage of 2-diazo-1,3-diketone.

Abstract:The one-pot synthesis of 2,3-dihydro-1,5-benzodiazepins-2-one bearing phosphanylidene (ylide) or phosphono-succinate substituent is described. In this four-component reaction, benzodiazepine derived from condensation of o-phenylenediamine and diketene is trapped with the trialkyl phosphite–dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate zwitterion. In the presence of H2O, the ylide functional group is hydrolyzed to the corresponding phosphonate. The configuration of the products is selective and only one of the two possible rotamers or diastereomers is formed exclusively in high yield.

Abstract:An efficient protocol for the Hantzsch synthesis of 2, 3, 5, 6-tetrasubstituted unsymmetrical pyridines has been developed through Fe(OAc)2 promoted condensation of multicomponent carbonyl compounds, in which the C4 of the pyridine rings was derived from DMF and the nitrogen atom resulted from 1, 1dichloro-2 nitroethene (DCNE). Abstract:An efficient one-pot method for the preparation of alpha-iodo-substituted alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes (alpha-iodoenals) from propargylic alcohol is developed. The reaction proceeds via an iodoallene intermediate, which is generated in situ by the reaction of propargylic alcohol with aqueous HI. The iodoallene intermediate is further transformed to an alpha-iodoenal derivative in good overall yield by oxidation with molecular O(2).
