Abstract:Many fundamental results of pluripotential theory on the quaternionic space $${\mathbb {H}}^n$$ are extended to the Heisenberg group. We introduce notions of a plurisubharmonic function, the quaternionic Monge–Ampère operator, differential operators $$d_0$$ and $$d_1$$ and a closed positive current on the Heisenberg group. The quaternionic Monge–Ampère operator is the coefficient of $$ (d_0d_1u)^n$$ . We establish the Chern–Levine–Nirenberg type estimate, the existence of quaternionic Monge–Ampère measure for a continuous quaternionic plurisubharmonic function and the minimum principle for the quaternionic Monge–Ampère operator. Unlike the tangential Cauchy–Riemann operator $$ {\overline{\partial }}_b $$ on the Heisenberg group which behaves badly as $$ \partial _b{\overline{\partial }}_b\ne -{\overline{\partial }}_b\partial _b $$ , the quaternionic counterpart $$d_0$$ and $$d_1$$ satisfy $$ d_0d_1=-d_1d_0 $$ . This is the main reason that we have a good theory for the quaternionic Monge–Ampère operator than $$ (\partial _b{\overline{\partial }}_b)^n$$ .

Abstract:We introduce the quaternionic Mahler measure for non-commutative polynomials, extending the classical complex Mahler measure. We establish the existence of quaternionic Mahler measure for slice regular polynomials in one and two variables. We study the quaternionic Mahler measure for real and slice regular polynomials, and consider the associated Lehmer problem. Various formulas of quaternionic Mahler measures are proved.

Abstract:We prove the existence of a unique smooth solution to the quaternionic Monge–Ampère equation for -quaternionic plurisubharmonic (psh) functions on a compact hyperKähler manifold and thus obtain solutions to the quaternionic form-type equation. We derive the estimate by establishing a Cherrier-type inequality as in Tosatti and Weinkove (J Am Math Soc 30(2):311–346, 2017). By adopting the approach of Dinew and Sroka (Geom Funct Anal 33(4):875–911, 2023) to our context, we obtain the and estimates without assuming the flatness of underlying hyperKähler metric comparing to the previous result Gentili and Zhang (J Geom Anal 32:9, 2022).

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce finite energy classes of quaternionic $m$-plurisubharmonic functions of Cegrell type and define the quaternionic $m$-Hessian operator on some Cegrell's classes. We use the variational approach to solve the quaternionic $m$-Hessian equation when the right-hand side is a positive Radon measure.

Abstract:The study of $\psi-$hyperholomorphic functions defined on domains in $\mathbb R^4$ with values in $\mathbb H$, namely null-solutions of the $\psi-$Fueter operator, is a topic which captured great interest in quaternionic analysis. This class of functions is more general than that of Fueter regular functions. In the setting of $(q,q')-$calculus, also known as post quantum calculus, we introduce a deformation of the $\psi-$Fueter operator written in terms of suitable difference operators, which reduces to a deformed $q$ calculus when $q'=1$. We also prove the Stokes and Borel-Pompeiu formulas in this context. This work is the first investigation of results in quaternionic analysis in the setting of the $(q,q')-$calculus theory.

Abstract:In a recent preprint published on arXiv (see <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2308.02993v2" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2308.02993v2">arXiv:2308.02993v2</a>, referred here as \cite{NXH}), N.X. Hong stated that every plurifinely open set $U\subset \mathbb{C}^n$, $n\geq 1$, is of the form $U=\bigcup \{\varphi_j>-1\}$, where each $\phi_j$ is a negative plurisubharmonic function defined on an open ball $B_j\subset \mathbb{C}^n$ and used this result to prove an equality result on complex Monge-Ampère measures. Unfortunately, this result is wrong as we will see below.

Abstract:Many aspects of pluripotential theory are generalized to quaternionic m-subharmonic functions. We introduce quaternionic version of notions of the m-Hessian operator, m-subharmonic functions, m-Hessian measure, m-capacity, the relative m-extremal function, and the m-Lelong number, and show various propositions for them, based on d_0 , d_1 operators, as quaternionic counterpart of ∂ , ∂ , and quaternionic closed positive currents. The comparison principle and the quasicontinuity of quaternionic m-subharmonic functions are established. The definition of quaternionic m-Hessian operator can be extended to locally bounded quaternionic m-subharmonic functions and the corresponding convergence theorem is proved. We also find the fundamental solution of the quaternionic m-Hessian operator.

Abstract:A quaternionic version of the Calabi problem was recently formulated by M. Verbitsky and the author. It conjectures a solvability of a quaternionic Monge-Ampere equation on a compact HKT manifold (HKT stays for HyperKaehler with Torsion). In this paper this problem is solved under an extra assumption that the manifold admits a flat hyperKaehler metric compactible with the underlying hypercomplex structure. The proof uses the continuity method and a priori estimates.

Abstract:In this work, we describe the moduli of triples of points in quaternionic projective space which define uniquely the congruence classes of such triples relative to the action of the isometry group of quaternionic hyperbolic space ${\rm H}^n_{\mathbb{Q}}$. To solve this problem, we introduce some basic invariants of triples of points in quaternionic hyperbolic geometry. In particular, we define quaternionic analogues of the Goldman invariants for mixed configurations of points introduced by him in complex hyperbolic geometry.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{M}(n,m;\F \bp^n)$ be the configuration space of $m$-tuples of pairwise distinct points in $\F \bp^n$, that is, the quotient of the set of $m$-tuples of pairwise distinct points in $\F \bp^n$ with respect to the diagonal action of ${\rm PU}(1,n;\F)$ equipped with the quotient topology. It is an important problem in hyperbolic geometry to parameterize $\mathcal{M}(n,m;\F \bp^n)$ and study the geometric and topological structures on the associated parameter space. In this paper, by mainly using the rotation-normalized and block-normalized algorithms, we construct the parameter spaces of both $\mathcal{M}(n,m; \bhq)$ and $\mathcal{M}(n,m;\bp(V_+))$, respectively.

Abstract:We continue our study of the Complex Monge-Ampère Operator on the Weighted Pluricomplex energy classes. We give more characterizations of the range of the classes $\mathcal E_ \chi$ by the Complex Monge-Ampère Operator. In particular, we prove that a non-negative Borel measure $\mu $ is the Monge-Ampère of a unique function $\varphi \in \mathcal E_\chi$ if and only if $\chi(\mathcal E_\chi ) \subset L^1(d\mu ).$ Then we show that if $\mu = (dd^c \varphi )^n $ for some $\varphi \in \mathcal E_\chi $ then $\mu = (dd^c u )^n $ for some $u \in \mathcal E_\chi (f) $ where $f$ is a given boundary data. If moreover, the non-negative Borel measure$\mu $ is suitably dominated by the Monge-Ampère capacity, we establish a priori estimates on the capacity of sub-level sets of the solutions. As consequence, we give a priori bounds of the solution of the Dirichlet problem in the case when the measure has a density in some Orlicz space.

Abstract:We study degenerate complex Monge-Ampère equations on a compact Kähler manifold $(X,\omega)$. We show that the complex Monge-Ampère operator $(\omega + dd^c \cdot)^n$ is well-defined on the class ${\mathcal E}(X,\omega)$ of $\omega$-plurisubharmonic functions with finite weighted Monge-Ampère energy. The class ${\mathcal E}(X,\omega)$ is the largest class of $\omega$-psh functions on which the Monge-Ampère operator is well-defined and the comparison principle is valid. It contains several functions whose gradient is not square integrable. We give a complete description of the range of the Monge-Ampère operator $(\omega +dd^c \cdot)^n$ on ${\mathcal E}(X,\omega)$, as well as on some of its subclasses. We also study uniqueness properties, extending Calabi's result to this unbounded and degenerate situation, and we give applications to complex dynamics and to the existence of singular Kähler-Einstein metrics.

Spectral characterization of quaternionic positive definite functions on the real line

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the spectral characteristics of quaternionic positive definite functions on the real line. We generalize the Stone's theorem to the case of a right quaternionic linear one-parameter unitary group via two different types of functional calculus. From the generalized Stone's theorems we obtain a correspondence between continuous quaternionic positive definite functions and spectral systems, i.e., unions of a spectral measure and a unitary anti-self-adjoint operator that commute with each other; and then deduce that the Fourier transform of a continuous quaternionic positive definite function is an unusual type of quaternion-valued measure which can be described equivalently in two different ways. One is related to spectral systems (induced by the first generalized Stone's theorem), the other is related to non-negative finite Borel measures (induced by the second generalized Stone's theorem). An application to weakly stationary quaternionic random processes is also presented.

Abstract:The numerical range in the quaternionic setting is, in general, a non convex subset of the quaternions. The essential numerical range is a refinement of the numerical range that only keeps the elements that have, in a certain sense, infinite multiplicity. We prove that the essential numerical range of a bounded linear operator on a quaternionic Hilbert space is convex. A quaternionic analogue of Lancaster theorem, relating the closure of the numerical range and its essential numerical range, is also provided.
