Abstract:Following the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that the 'NB‑4' and 'NB‑2' panels for the invasion and migration assays shown in Fig. 3B and C on p. 113 appeared to contain overlapping data, such that the data may have been derived from the same original source, even though the panels were intending to have shown results obtained under different experimental conditions. The authors have re‑examined their raw data and realized that these data were inadvertently mixed up when Fig. 3B and C were assembled. A corrected version of Fig. 3, showing the data as they should have appeared for the 'NB‑4' and 'NB‑2' invasion and migration assay experiments in Fig. 3B and C, is shown on the next page. The authors sincerely apologize for the errors that were introduced into Fig. 3 of the published article, and thank the Editor of Oncology Reports for allowing them the opportunity to publish a Corrigendum. Abstract:Subsequently to the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that Fig. 2C and 2D apparently contained overlapping panels, suggesting that these data for purportedly different experiments had been derived from the same original source. The authors re‑examined their original data, and realized that the errors arose inadvertently during the process of compiling the figure. Essentially, multiple photographs of random fields in two directions per sample had been captured, and one photograph of the T24‑P group in a different direction was accidentally mis‑used for the T24‑L/siHIF‑1α group in Fig. 2C; another photograph of the T24‑P group in a different direction was accidentally mis‑used for the T24‑L group in Fig. 2D. A corrected version of Fig. 2 is shown below, featuring the corrected data panels for Fig. 2C and D. Note that the errors in the Figure did not affect either the results or the conclusions reported in this study. Abstract:Subsequently to the publication of this paper, the authors' have realized that Fig. 2A on p. 3927 was published featuring an error; specifically, there was an unintentional duplication of one of the representative images chosen for the figure (the same image was selected to represent the 'BRCA/Normal' and 'Tumor/LUSC' experiments). Additionally, the sample numbers in Fig. 2A were also incorrect. The correct sample numbers are as follows: 3 samples of breast tissue, 12 samples of breast cancer tissue, 3 samples of normal cervical tissue, 9 samples of CESC, 7 samples of LIHC, 3 samples of normal lung tissue and 6 samples of LUSC. These errors were due to negligence during the storage of HPA database images. The revised version of Fig. 2, showing the correct data for the 'Tumor/LUSC' experiment in Fig. 2A (where the error occurred), is shown on the next page. Note that this error did not significantly affect either the results or the conclusions reported in this paper, and all the authors agree to the corrigendum. The authors do stress the importance of a larger sample size to ascertain statistically significant differences in CENPM protein expression, predominantly localized in the cell nucleus. Furthermore, the authors thank the Editor of Molecular Medicine Reports for allowing them the opportunity to publish this corrigendum, and apologize to the readership for any inconvenience caused.
