Abstract:After dedicating 5 years as an Associate Technical Editor and 2 years as an Associate Editor-in-Chief, I am truly honored and humbled to assume the leadership role for the next chapter of IEEE Communications Magazine. I have had the distinct pleasure of collaborating with the esteemed past Editor-in-Chiefs, Dr. Antonio Sanchez-Esguevillas, Dr. Tarek S. El-Bawab, and Dr. Osman Gebizlioglu, over the past seven years. Their dedication and hard work in upholding the quality and integrity of IEEE Communications Magazine have been inspiring. Thanks to the strong leadership and great efforts of the past Editor-in-Chiefs, editors, reviewers, readers, and ComSoc publications staff, IEEE Communications Magazine has reached a great achievement with an impact factor of 11.2 as of 2023. As we move forward, building upon the solid foundation laid by our past Editor-in-Chiefs and editors, I plan to continue elevating the magazine's intellectual quality, scientific impact, and visibility. More particularly, I plan to further focus on enhancing the magazine's quality, impact, and influence, keeping the magazine at the forefront of the communications field; promoting diversity and inclusion across various aspects, including technical areas, industry, academia, geography, gender, seniority, and more; and increasing more industry engagement in magazine's contents, editorship, authorship, and readership. I look forward to working closely with the authors, reviewers, editors, and the ComSoc support staff, to maintain the magazine's highest standards and long-term growth.

Abstract:: With the emergence of the era of integrated media, the integration of traditional and emerging media has become an irreversible development trend. The new era has also injected new challenges and new expectations into the responsibilities of the announcer-host. The purpose of this article is to explore how broadcasters and presenters can skilfully adapt to the new media environment in the current multimedia environment whilst maintaining their work ethic and professionalism. This paper discusses how to identify better the roles of broadcasters and hosts in the era of integrated media, enabling them to keep pace with contemporary developments and become leaders in the media industry of the new era.

Abstract:I started my term as Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering in January 2018. It has been a great privilege to have had the opportunity to serve this research community for the past six years, but it is now time to say farewell. When I started my term, I knew very little of what to expect. It has indeed been an interesting learning journey for me, and a rewarding one. I have had the opportunity to work closely with many Associate Editors, Guest Editors, editorial staff, authors, and reviewers over these years. I would like to acknowledge their support, without which the journal would not be where it is today. The high-quality standards we maintain are largely due to the efforts of the Associate and Guest Editors in managing the reviews, and numerous anonymous reviewers who donate their time and expertise in providing valuable feedback on various manuscripts under consideration.
