Abstract:Newly assembled automobile transmission has its particular failure characteristic, strict quality testing working procedure on the assembly line is important for quality of automobile transmission. In this paper, we introduce a new automatic fault detection method for automobile transmission. A fault diagnosis expert system for newly assembled transmission is presented, related method of knowledge representation, feature extraction and fault classification is given. Order spectrum analysis method is used to analyze vibratory signal of automobile transmission. After initial feature vectors set are obtained, improved genetic search strategy is used to select fault features, so as to reduce the dimension of feature vector set. Selected feature vector sets are inputted into the BP neural network for fault identification and classification of the newly assembled automobile transmission. A large number of data are collected from industrial site and analyzed, proposed algorithm is verified to be effective and exact.

The strong traction forcemakes the car have problems such as impact and instability when shifting, which still needs in-depth research andimprovement in automobile manufacturing related industries. Based on the reliability analysis of transmissiongear extracted from ferrography characteristics of oil, this paper summarizes the reliability optimization design ofautomobile mechanical transmission gear. The model is solved and calculated by MATLAB programming, and thereliability optimization design result is finally obtained. Under the background of automatic and intelligentautomobile science and technology, relevant researchers need to study and analyze it, so as to put forwardtargeted optimization design scheme.

[The application of atomic absorption spectrometry in automatic transmission fault detection]

Abstract:The authors studied the innovative applications of atomic absorption spectrometry in the automatic transmission fault detection. After the authors have determined Fe, Cu and Cr contents in the five groups of Audi A6 main metal in automatic transmission fluid whose travel course is respectively 10-15 thousand kilometers, 20-26 thousand kilometers, 32-38 thousand kilometers, 43-49 thousand kilometers, and 52-58 thousand kilometers by atomic absorption spectrometry, the authors founded the database of primary metal content in the Audi A6 different mileage automatic transmission fluid (ATF). The research discovered that the main metal content in the automatic transmission fluid increased with the vehicles mileage and its normal metal content level in the automatic transmission fluid is between the two trend lines. The authors determined the main metal content of automatic transmission fluid which had faulty symptoms and compared it with its database value. Those can not only judge the wear condition of the automatic transmission which had faulty symptoms but also help the automobile detection and maintenance personnel to diagnose automatic transmission failure reasons without disintegration. This reduced automobile maintenance costs, and improved the quality of automobile maintenance.

Abstract:Transmissions are core components of automobiles in adjusting the speed. The time-varying operation conditions, particularly the frequent gear shifting, present significant challenges for condition monitoring and fault locating of transmissions. At present, most existing studies primarily focus on the issues arising from time-varying speed, but they do not consider the challenges introduced by gear shifting. Gear shifting changes the meshing gear pairs within the transmission, causing the monitoring indicator amplitude fluctuates greatly. Consequently, the indicator fails to reflect the overall degradation trend of the transmission. To address this problem, this paper proposes a fault diagnosis method for automotive transmissions with the consideration of gear shifting. Our contributions are as follows: Firstly, we propose a spectral variation sparsity indicator (SVSI) based on the order spectrum at each gear position. Secondly, we fuse SVSI from different gear positions and create a comprehensive indicator called weighted health indicator (WHI). Finally, a diagnosis method based on SVSI and WHI is proposed for automotive transmissions under gear-shifting conditions. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated using datasets from four automotive transmissions. The results demonstrate that our method is capable of detecting faults prior to inspection and accurately identifying faulty gears. Moreover, the performance of WHI is compared with several existing indicators. The results demonstrate that WHI exhibits stronger correlation, monotonicity, and robustness. This indicates that WHI is able to effectively mitigate the influence of gear shifting, thereby better reflecting the overall degradation trend of the transmission. Consequently, our proposed method significantly contributes to the field of condition monitoring and fault locating for automotive transmissions.

Abstract:Present situation of automatic shift transmission used on construction machinery is discussed. Basic work principle of fuzzy control in automatic speed control is presented. With AG4 auto-transmission as an object, fuzzy control variables, control regulations and inference process are determined. A test system is established in lab and the controllers are designed. The test results show that the fuzzy control strategy determined can be applied to the control of automatic transmission.

Abstract:The automatic transmission with the advantages of comfortable driving and smooth start is applied more and more widely for passenger vehicles.At present,the automatic transmission of China's self-owned brand is lack of core competency in development and industrialization,such as insufficient core design capacity and multifarious technology roadmap.Moreover,the situation of automatic transmission market is in a mess,such as independent development,lack of cooperation,overlapping investment and low production scale,which causes the automatic transmission industry to become a bottleneck for the automobile industry.Therefore,this study analyzes the situation of China's transmission market,main difficulties,current bottleneck and its internal causes,as well as how to choose transmission technology strategy,and the appropriate transmission for different vehicles based on technology and cost.Finally,it proposes several suggestions on future development strategy to automatic transmission industry.

Abstract:Measurement and Control, Ahead of Print. Scholars and engineers attach great importance to fault detection in mechanical systems due to the unpredictable faults that arise from long-term operations under complex and extreme conditions. The fact that each type of fault embodies unique characteristics makes it challenging to obtain sufficient fault samples, and conventional machine learning methods fail to provide satisfactory fault diagnosis results. To address this issue, a simulation-driven fault detection method has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, the DT model of the gear transmission system was established. An improved multi-objective sparrow search algorithm (MOSSA) was employed to update the model and obtain an adequate number of simulation fault samples as well. Secondly, a two-stage adversarial domain adaptation model with full-scale feature fusion (ADAM-FF) was utilized to align and integrate the features of simulated and generated fault samples. This enables model training and classification of combined samples, facilitating the detection of unknown faults in actual measurements. Lastly, a simulation-driven equipment health index assessment model which accurately and non-destructively evaluates the degradation status of the equipment was introduced. This model effectively quantifies the extent of equipment degradation, thereby facilitating the transfer from the simulation realm to practical engineering applications. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection method, an experimental study was conducted on the extruder gear reducer of a petrochemical enterprise. The proposed fault detection method has the potential for widespread application across a range of large-scale mechanical equipment. As such, the utilization of this method will enable proactive maintenance planning, ensure safe and stable equipment operations, and minimize energy loss.

Abstract:Gear transmission system fault diagnosis is crucial for the reliability and safety of industrial machinery. The combination of mathematical signal processing methods with deep learning technology has become a research hotspot in fault diagnosis. Firstly, the development and status of gear transmission system fault diagnosis are outlined in detail. Secondly, the relevant research results on gear transmission system fault diagnosis are summarized from the perspectives of time-domain, frequency domain, and time-frequency-domain analysis. Thirdly, the relevant research progress in shallow learning and deep learning in the field of fault diagnosis is explained. Finally, future research directions for gear transmission system fault diagnosis are summarized and anticipated in terms of the sparsity of signal analysis results, separation of adjacent feature components, extraction of weak signals, identification of composite faults, multi-factor combinations in fault diagnosis, and multi-source data fusion technology.

Abstract:A review of methods used for fault recognition of the rolling elements in gearbox, namely gear and bearing, is presented in this paper. The procedure of the fault recognition can be classified into three phases, which are data acquisition, data processing or important features extraction, and the fault mode detection. Many different methods have been developed in dealing with each phase, so that the arrangement of the entire process has different strategies. This paper summarizes some general used and recently popular developed methods of each phase, and makes comparison between them. This work also aims at giving a perspective in such area in the future, based on the known researches.

Abstract:As the main supporting drive components of the automobile transmission, the transmission bearings are mainly used to support the moving parts installed on the gear shaft, and to ensure the rotary precision of the gear shaft and the rotating parts, which plays an important role on transmission performance. Aiming at the existing problems of the traditional check method of bearing, the objective of this study is to take a five-speed transmission as an example, to accomplish the fatigue life analysis of the bearings of the automobile transmission based on the MASTA software. The simulation modeling of the transmission is built completely to simulate the actual load conditions and complete the process of analysis for the bearings. Analytical results show that using MASTA software can effectively perform the fatigue life analysis of the transmission bearings instead of the general conventional theoretical calculation method in the actual manufacturing process, moreover, the analysis results will provide theoretical basis for the overall optimization structural design of the automobile transmission.

Abstract:At present, the method of identifying the fault symptoms of various machines by combining the neural network and the D-S evidence theory is attracting attention from researchers because the identification time is fast and the diagnosis is accurate. In this paper, it was mentioned a method for identifying the fault symptoms of automatic transmission by combining these two theories. First, it was mentioned a method for identifying fault symptoms of the automatic transmission by combining a fuzzy neural network and an RBF neural network. Next, it was newly described a method to improve the accuracy of fault symptom identification by the D-S evidence theory. In addition, the accuracy of this method was verified by an experimental method. In the experiment Firstly, two sub neural networks are established to recognize the initial symptoms. That is, the first sub-neural network E1 be used as the fuzzy neural network, the second sub-neural network E2 be used as RBF neural network, respectively, for preliminary symptom recognition. And then, these outputs of the two sub neural networks are used as the evidence space of D-S evidence theory, so the global diagnosis is carried out. The results show that the test results are consistent with the actual fault symptoms. The success rate of fault diagnosis up to 96.3%, therefore, on the identification of the automatic transmission fault symptom, effectiveness, and feasibility of the D-S evidence theory based on information fusion is verified.

Abstract:˖From the 1960s, the machinery fault diagnosis has rapidly developed as an emerging subject, whose prominent feature lies in close combination of theoretical research and engineering practical application.Over the past half a century, the machinery fault diagnosis has been developed into its maturity, which results in relatively comprehensive theoretical framework on signal acquisition and sensing technology, fault mechanism and symptom relationship, signal processing and diagnosis method as well as intelligent decision and diagnosis system.This subject has also made several original theoretical achievements, such as holospectrum diagnosis and crack dynamic quantitative diagnosis with wavelet finite element.Meanwhile, it has been effectively implemented in a number of engineering applications, such as machinery, metallurgy, petrochemical industry, energy and aviation, etc.However, there still exist some shortcomings in this subject, such as research blanks in fault mechanism, limitation in diagnosis methods, weakness in intelligent diagnosis equipment.Therefore, how to develop the basic research and explore the source of machinery fault diagnosis?What are development directions in the future?These are urgent problems needed to be addressed.Based on the review of the recent researches on basic theory of machinery fault diagnosis and its engineering practical application at home and abroad, the deficiency of the basic research and the breakthrough potentials of machinery fault diagnosis are presented.
