Abstract:We define the BGP-reflection functors in the derived categories and the root categories. By Ringel’s Hall algebra approach, the BGP-reflection functor is applicable to obtain the classical Weyl group action on the Lie algebra.

Abstract:We define Bernstein–Gelfand–Ponomarev reflection functors in the cluster categories of hereditary algebras. They are triangle equivalences which provide a natural quiver realization of the “truncated simple reflections” on the set of almost positive roots Φ≥−1 associated with a finite dimensional semi-simple Lie algebra. Combining this with the tilting theory in cluster categories developed in [A. Buan, R. Marsh, M. Reineke, I. Reiten, G. Todorov, Tilting theory and cluster combinatorics, Adv. Math. (in press). math.RT/0402054], we give a unified interpretation via quiver representations for the generalized associahedra associated with the root systems of all Dynkin types (simply laced or non-simply laced). This confirms the Conjecture 9.1 in [A. Buan, R. Marsh, M. Reineke, I. Reiten, G. Todorov, Tilting theory and cluster combinatorics, Adv. Math. (in press). math.RT/0402054] for all Dynkin types.

Abstract:Given a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix A , for any index k , one can define an automorphism associated with A , of the field Q ( u 1 , ..., u n ) of rational functions of n independent indeterminates u 1 , ..., u n . It is an isomorphism between two cluster algebras associated to the matrix A (see sec. 4 for the precise meaning). When A is of finite type, these isomorphisms behave nicely; they are compatible with the BGP-reflection functors of cluster categories defined in a previous work if we identify the indecomposable objects in the categories with cluster variables of the corresponding cluster algebras, and they are also compatible with the “truncated simple reflections” defined by Fomin-Zelevinsky. Using the construction of preprojective or preinjective modules of hereditary algebras by Dlab-Ringel and the Coxeter automorphisms (i.e. a product of these isomorphisms), we construct infinitely many cluster variables for cluster algebras of infinite type and all cluster variables for finite types.

Abstract:For a finitary hereditary abelian category $\mathcal{A}$, we define a derived Hall algebra of its root category by counting the triangles and using the octahedral axiom, which is proved to be isomorphic to the Drinfeld double of Hall algebra of $\mathcal{A}$. When applied to finite-dimensional nilpotent representations of the Jordan quiver or coherent sheaves over elliptic curves, these algebras provide categorical realizations of the ring of Laurent symmetric functions and also double affine Hecke algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we generalize the categorifical construction of a quantum group and its canonical basis introduced by Lusztig to the generic form of the whole Ringel-Hall algebra. We clarify the explicit relation between the Green formula and the restriction functor. By a geometric way to prove the Green formula, we show that the compatibility of multiplication and comultiplication of a Ringel-Hall algebra can be categorified under Lusztig’s framework.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is mainly to build a new representation-theoretic realization of finite root systems through the so-called Frobenius-type triangular matrix algebras by the method of reflection functors over any field. Finally, we give an analog of APR-tilting module for this class of algebras. The major conclusions contains the known results as special cases, e.g. that for path algebras over an algebraically closed field and for path algebras with relations from symmetrizable cartan matrices. Meanwhile, it means the corresponding results for some other important classes of algebras, that is, the path algebras of quivers over Frobenius algebras and the generalized path algebras endowed by Frobenius algebras at vertices.

Abstract:Let ΛQ be the preprojective algebra of a finite acyclic quiver Q of non-Dynkin type and Db(repnΛQ) be the bounded derived category of finite dimensional nilpotent ΛQ-modules. We define spherical twist functors over the root category RΛQ of Db(repnΛQ) and then realize the Weyl group associated to Q as certain subquotient of the automorphism group of the Ringel-Hall Lie algebra g(RΛQ) of RΛQ induced by spherical twist functors. We also present a concrete relation between certain Lie subalgebras of g(RΛQ) and g(RQ), where g(RQ) is the Ringel–Hall Lie algebra associated to the root category RQ of Q.

Abstract:Let D(A) be the double Ringel-Hall algebra of a finite dimensional hereditary algebra A. The present paper shows that the BGP-reflection operators of D(A) coincide with Lusztig's symmetries (up to canonical isomorphisms) and satisfy the braid group relations on the whole double Ringel-Hall algebra D(A). Abstract:We present a survey on the latest development in the representation theory of algebras with Frobenius morphisms. This includes a generalization of the graph and root system folding relation to folding relations at the representation level, at the category level, and further at the derived category level. As an application, we use it to approach Kac’s theory for Kac-Moody algebras with symmetrizable Cartan matrices.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal {A}$ be a finitary hereditary abelian category. We define a Hall algebra for the root category of $\mathcal {A}$ by applying the derived Hall numbers of the bounded derived category $D^b(\mathcal {A})$, which is proved to be isomorphic to the Drinfeld double Hall algebra of $\mathcal {A}$. In the appendix, we also define the 1-periodic derived Hall algebra via the derived Hall numbers of $D^b(\mathcal {A})$.

Folding Derived Categories with Frobenius Functors

Abstract:Following the work [B. Deng, J. Du, Frobenius morphisms and representations of algebras, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 358 (2006) 3591–3622], we show that a Frobenius morphism F on an algebra A induces naturally a functor F on the (bounded) derived category Db(A) of mod-A, and we further prove that the derived category Db(AF) of mod-AF for the F-fixed point algebra AF is naturally embedded as the triangulated subcategory Db(A)F of F-stable objects in Db(A). When applying the theory to an algebra with finite global dimension, we discover a folding relation between the Auslander–Reiten triangles in Db(AF) and those in Db(A). Thus, the AR-quiver of Db(AF) can be obtained by folding the AR-quiver of Db(A). Finally, we further extend this relation to the root categories ℛ(AF) of AF and ℛ(A) of A, and show that, when A is hereditary, this folding relation over the indecomposable objects in ℛ(AF) and ℛ(A) results in the same relation on the associated root systems as induced from the graph folding relation.

Abstract:We compute the fusion rule of a one-parameter family of spherical categories constructed by one author from the classification of singly generated Yang–Baxter planar algebras. The structure constant of the fusion rule is expressed in a closed-form formula of Littlewood–Richardson coefficients. We also compute the characters of the simple objects and their generating function in terms of symmetric functions with infinite variables.

Abstract:In this paper we define the modified Ringel-Hall algebra $\cm\ch(\ca)$ of a hereditary abelian category $\ca$ from the category $C^b(\mathcal{A})$ of bounded $\mathbb{Z}$-graded complexes. Two main results have been obtained. One is to give a new proof of Green's formula on Ringel-Hall numbers by using the associative multiplication of the modified Ringel-Hall algebra. The other is to show that in certain twisted cases the derived Hall algebra can be embedded in the modified Ringel-Hall algebra. As a consequence of the second result, we get that in certain twisted cases the modified Ringel-Hall algebra is isomorphic to the tensor algebra of the derived Hall algebra and the torus of acyclic complexes and so the modified Ringel-Hall algebra is invariant under derived equivalences.

Abstract:For a root system R, a field K and a "choice of coefficients in K" we define a category of graded spaces with operators and study some of its properties. Then we assume that the coefficients are given by quantum binomials. We use basic arithmetic properties of binomial coefficients (such as q-versions of Lucas' theorem and the Pfaff-Saalschütz identity) to construct a Frobenius pull back functor and prove a Steinberg's tensor product formula. Then we show that these results imply the corresponding results for reductive algebraic groups in positive characteristics and for quantum groups at roots of unity.

Braid groups of J-reflection groups and associated classical and dual Garside structures

Abstract:The family of $J$-reflection groups can be seen as a combinatorial generalisation of irreducible rank two complex reflection groups and was introduced by the author in a previous article. In this article, we define the braid groups associated to $J$-reflection groups, which coincide with the complex braid group when the $J$-reflection group is finite. We show that the isomorphism type of the braid groups only depend on the reflection isomorphism types of the corresponding $J$-reflection groups. Moreover, we show that these braid groups are always abstractly isomorphic to circular groups. At the same time, we show that the center of the braid groups is cyclic and sent onto the center of the corresponding $J$-reflection groups under the natural quotient. Finally, we exhibit two Garside structures for each braid group of $J$-reflection group. These structures generalise the classical and dual Garside structures (when defined) of rank two irreducible complex reflection groups. In particular, the dual Garside structure of $J$-reflection groups provides candidates for dual monoids associated to the irreducible complex reflection groups of rank two which do not already have one.

Abstract:In general, representation rings are well-known as Green rings from module categories of Hopf algebras. In this paper, we study Green rings in the context of monoidal categories such that representations of Hopf algebras can be investigated through Green rings of various levels from module categories to derived categories in the unified view-point. Firstly, as analogue of representation rings of Hopf algebras, we set up the so-called Green rings of monoidal categories, and then list some such categories including module categories, complex categories, homotopy categories, derived categories and (derived) shift categories, etc. and the relationship among their corresponding Green rings. The main part of this paper is to characterize representation rings and derived rings of a class of inite dimensional Hopf algebras constructed from the Nakayama truncated algebras $KZ_{n}/J^{d}$ with certain constraints. For the representation ring $r(KZ_{n}/J^{d})$, we completely determine its generators and the relations of generators via the method of Pascal triangle. For the derived ring $dr(KZ_{n}/J^{2})$(i.e., $d=2$), we determine its generators and give the relations of generators. In these two aspects, the polynomial characterizations of the representation ring and the derived ring are both given.

Abstract:We introduce a notion of a root groupoid as a replacement of the notion of Weyl group for (Kac-Moody) Lie superalgebras. The objects of the root groupoid classify certain root data, the arrows are defined by generators and relations. As an abstract groupoid the root groupoid has many connected components and we show that to some of them one can associate an interesting family of Lie superalgebras which we call root superalgebras. We classify root superalgebras satisfying some additional assumptions. To each root groupoid component we associate a graph (called skeleton) generalizing the Cayley graph of the Weyl group. We establish the Coxeter property of the skeleton generalizing in this way the fact that the Weyl group of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra is Coxeter.
