Abstract:An efficient synthesis of novel phenoxyimine ligands containing a difluorovinylbiphenyl group was based on the Suzuki coupling coupling of 4-bromo-2,6-difluoroaniline with 4-styrylboronic acid followed by a condensation reaction with various arylaldehydes. The structures were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra and HRMS. The advantages of this synthetic route were its simple operation, mild reaction conditions and good yields.

Abstract:A facile and direct intramolecular oxidative C(aryl)-H amidation reaction was developed for the synthesis of quinolino[3,4-b]quinoxalin-6(5H)-ones in moderate to excellent yields starting from readily available materials by tethering the adjacent N-methoxyamide and aryl portions in the presence of phenyliodine(III) bis(trifluoroacetate) at room temperature. This metal-free approach is a valuable addition to the traditional methods already available for the preparation of these molecules.

Abstract:A facile preparation of 3-aminofuran derivatives via multicomponent reactions of thiazole carbenes, aldehydes, and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) is reported. In this process, the thiazole carbenes, generated in situ from thiazolium salts, reacted with aldehydes and DMAD at -78 to 0 degrees C in CH2Cl2 to afford the substituted furans in moderate to good yields. Eight substituted thiazolium salts were employed as carbene precursors in the reaction. Besides aryl aldehydes, alpha beta-unsaturated aldehydes, aliphatic aldehydes, and arenedial were also investigated and found to be applicable to this reaction.

Abstract:Difluoroenoxysilane, a commonly used difluoroallylating reagent, has attracted considerable attention in recent years. However, its application in the annulation reaction for the construction of fluorinated heterocyclic compounds remains relatively limited. Presented here is the Bronsted acid-catalyzed efficient formal [4 + 2] annulation of difluoroenoxysilanes with alpha-cyano chalcones. The developed protocol demonstrates tolerance to various substituents under mild reaction conditions, providing a reliable approach to construct gem-difluoro-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrans in good to excellent yields with high diastereoselectivities.

Abstract:The reaction of o-aminoacetophenones and arylboronic acids catalyzed by copper(II) salts in the presence of pyridine under an O2 atmosphere provides a general and efficient one-pot preparation of biologically interesting acridones. This relay reaction comprises an intermolecular Suzuki cross-coupling, intramolecular oxidative C(sp3)-H amination, and C(sp2)-H activation with simultaneous rearrangement of the generated isatin intermediates. This strategy tolerates both electron-donating and -withdrawing functionalities to afford various acridones in good to excellent yields.

Abstract:Abstract A boron trifluoride catalysed reaction of coplanar 9-(phenylethynyl)-9H-fluoren-9-ols with various 2-aminobenzamides affords a number of highly functionalized, conjugated (Z)-2-((2-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)-1-phenylethylidene)amino) benzamides in excellent yield. The reaction in the presence of N-bromosuccinimide affords (E)-5-bromo-2-((2-bromo-2-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)-1-phenylethylidene)amino)benzamides in very good yields. The scope of the reaction is demonstrated by selecting N-aryl substituted 2-aminobenzamides and aminosulfonamides as reaction partners. The structures of representative compounds were established by single-crystal XRD analysis. Based on the structure of the products, a plausible mechanism via formation of allene carbocation intermediates is proposed.

Abstract:Fluoranthenes have attracted tremendous attention due to their unique optoelectronic properties and ex-tensive applications.Although several synthetic methodologies have been developed for the preparation of fluoranthene derivatives,it is still unfavorable to functionalize the fluoranthene framework at different positions due to the relatively low selectivity and reactivity.Herein,a catalyst-free intramolecular[4+2]annulation between thiophenes and alkynes is developed towards the synthesis of fluoranthenes.Alto-gether 20 examples have been demonstrated using this method.Various functional groups can be pre-cisely introduced into the fluoranthene skeleton at different positions by simply tuning the substituents on the thiophenes and alkynes.The conjugation of the fluoranthene can be facilely extended through different directions.Furthermore,the feasibility of this[4+2]annulation reaction is also investigated by density functional theory calculations.Therefore,this protocol provides not only a synthetic methodol-ogy towards fluoranthenes with substituents functionalized at different positions,but also an effective pathway to construct large polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons containing fluoranthene moieties.

Abstract:We presented a cascade transformation of N, N-diallylamines and fluoroalkyl iodides into various functionalized fluoroalkylated pyrrolidines through a visible light-induced synthetic process in the solvent-free conditions. In this reaction system, the substrate N, N-diallylamine acted both as the base and the electron donor. We further demonstrated the practicality of this protocol by the direct modification of amino acids and pharmaceutical molecules.

Abstract:An efficient deoxygenative radical cyclization reaction has been reported for the synthesis of fluorenones by employing various biarylcarboxylic acids via photoredox catalysis. Attractive features of this process include generation of acyl radical, which quickly underdone intramolecular radical cyclization. This method marks the first photo catalytic intramolecular acyl radical coupling for constructing carbon-carbon bond, which further synthesizes the valuable fluorenone products with mild conditions, good yields, and good functional-group compatibility.

Abstract:An electrocatalytic synthesis of 2-pyrazolines via dehydrogenative and defluorinative cross-coupling reactions between (hetero)arylaldehyde-derived N , N -dialkylhydrazones and fluoromalonates is disclosed. Salient features of this work include (i) readily available starting materials, (ii) practical reaction conditions, and (ii) a formal oxidative (4 + 1)-cycloaddition via triple C–H bond functionalization. Cyclic voltammetry analyses support the electrocatalytic formation of an α-fluoromalonyl radical.

Abstract:A decarboxylative/dehydrofluorinative formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition aromatization of isoquinolinium N-ylides with difluoroenoxysilanes has been developed. This methodology provides a facile and straightforward synthetic pathway to afford highly functionalized fluorinated pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinolines in good to excellent yields under mild conditions. Moreover, gram-scale and synthetic derivatization experiments for the late-stage functionalization of drug molecules have also been demonstrated.

Abstract:A photocatalyzed intramolecular cyclization is developed for the synthesis of fluorenones. In this photoredox reaction, triphenylphosphine is used as an inexpensive and effective deoxygenative reagent for biarylcarboxylic acids to give acyl radicals, which quickly undergo intramolecular radical cyclization. Reactions in the presence of air and continuous flow photoredox technology demonstrate the generality and practicality of this process.

Abstract:A photoredox-catalyzed decarboxylative α-monofluoroalkylation of silyl enol ethers with fluoroalkyl carboxylic N-(hydroxy)phthalimide esters has been successfully developed. Abstract:A highly regioselective intramolecular oxy-fluorination of alkenyl oximes was achieved. This new transformation represents an efficient method for the preparation of monofluoromethyl-substituted isoxazolines. The synthetic application of the oxy-fluorination product was demonstrated by a one-step synthesis of monofluoromethyl-substituted β-hydroxyl ketone derivatives.

Abstract:Deconjugative electrophilic fluorination of the lithium dienolate of Z-alpha,beta-unsaturated imide (+)-9 with N-fluorobenzene-sulfonimide (NFSi) afforded the E-beta,gamma-unsaturated alpha-fluoro imide (+)-10 as a single diastereoisomer. Dihydroxylation resulted in the formation of 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-gamma-xylonic and -lyxonic lactones, 12a and 12b, respectively.
