Abstract:Four aza-macrocyclic compounds were synthesized by reactions of phthalaldehydes and phthaloyl chlorides with N,N'-di(2-aminomethyl-3-fluorophenyl)ethylenediamine(8) and their structures were identified. The nucleophilic substitution reaction of 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile(1) was discussed.

Abstract:Reactions of 7,10-disubstituted diazafluoranthene derivatives with three different silver(I) salts AgX (X = [PF6](-), [SbF6](-), [CB11HCl11](-)) and [Cu(CH3CN)(4)]PF6 afforded complexes exhibiting five different motifs. The crystal structures of the free ligands and nine new complexes from this series of reactions are reported. The use of 2,5-di-tert-butyl-7,10-di(pyridin-2-yl)-8,9-diazafluoranthene as a ligand leads to the formation of the tetranuclear compounds [Ag-4(C32H30N4)(4)][PF6](4)center dot 3C(6)H(6)center dot 4MeCN, [Ag-4(C32H30N4)(4)][ SbF6](4)center dot 4C(5)H(12) and [Cu-4(C32H30N4)(4)][PF6](4)center dot 8C(3)H(6)O, which exhibit "propeller" and saddle-type geometry, respectively, as well as a dinuclear complex [Ag-2(C32H30N4)(2)][CHB11Cl11](2)center dot 4C(6)H(4)Cl(2)center dot CH2Cl2. The reactions involving the less sterically hindered 2,5-di-tert-butyl-7,10-di-(pyrimidin-2-yl)-8,9-diazafluoranthene and 2,5-di-tert-butyl-7,10-di(thiazol-2-yl)-8,9-diazafluoranthene afforded crystals of the dinuclear complexes [Ag-2(C30H28N6)(2)][PF6](2)center dot 0.5CH(2)Cl(2)center dot 0.5C(6)H(5)Cl center dot 0.5C(6)H(12), [Ag-2(C30H28N6)(2)][SbF6](2)center dot C3H6O center dot 0.5C(6)H(14)center dot 0.5C(6)H(6), the polymeric species [Ag-2(C28H26N4S2)(2)](n)center dot 2n[PF6](n)center dot nC(3)H(6)O and the tetranuclear compounds [Cu-4(C26H25N4S2)(4)][PF6](4)center dot 2CHCl(3)center dot 2C(3)H(6)O and [Cu-4(C30H28N6)(4)][PF6](4)center dot 2.17H(2)O, which possess saddle and grid-like architectures, respectively. Conformational analysis of the free ligands showed that they exhibit N-C-C-N torsion angles ranging from syn clinal (58 degrees) to fully anti-periplanar conformations; the syn clinal conformation dominates in the complexes. The relative energies of the possible structural conformations of the synthesized ligands, as well as of oxazole disubstituted diazafluoranthenes, were calculated using density functional theory at the B97D/Def2-TZVPP level of theory.

Abstract:An efficient synthesis of novel phenoxyimine ligands containing a difluorovinylbiphenyl group was based on the Suzuki coupling coupling of 4-bromo-2,6-difluoroaniline with 4-styrylboronic acid followed by a condensation reaction with various arylaldehydes. The structures were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra and HRMS. The advantages of this synthetic route were its simple operation, mild reaction conditions and good yields.

Abstract:Difluoroenoxysilane, a commonly used difluoroallylating reagent, has attracted considerable attention in recent years. However, its application in the annulation reaction for the construction of fluorinated heterocyclic compounds remains relatively limited. Presented here is the Bronsted acid-catalyzed efficient formal [4 + 2] annulation of difluoroenoxysilanes with alpha-cyano chalcones. The developed protocol demonstrates tolerance to various substituents under mild reaction conditions, providing a reliable approach to construct gem-difluoro-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrans in good to excellent yields with high diastereoselectivities.

Abstract:Dehydroacetic acid and triacetic acid lactone are known to be versatile substrates for the synthesis of a variety of azaheterocycles. However, their fluorinated analogs were poorly described in the literature. In the present work, we have investigated reactions of trifluorotriacetic acid lactone and hexafluorodehydroacetic acid with primary amines, phenylenediamine, and phenylhydrazine. While hexafluorodehydroacetic acid reacted the same way as non-fluorinated analog giving 2,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-pyridones, trifluorotriacetic acid lactone had different regioselectivity of nucleophilic attack compared to the parent structure, and corresponding 3-amino-6,6,6-trifluoro-5-oxohex-3-eneamides were formed as the products. In the case of binucleophiles, further cyclization took place, forming corresponding benzodiazepine and pyrazoles. The obtained 2,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-pyridones were able to react with active methylene compounds giving fluorinated merocyanine dyes.
A General and Efficient Method for the Synthesis of 9-Trifluoromethylated [1,2,4]Triazolo[1,5-A]azepine Derivatives

Abstract:(1-Chloro-2-trifluoromethylcyclohexyl)azo compounds 3a-d, prepared by oxidation of the hydrazones 2a-d of 2-trifluoromethylcyclohexanone (1) with a slightly excess amount of tertbutyl hypochlorite, react with antimony pentachloride and a nitrile to afford the respective 2,3-disubstituted-9-trifluoromethyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]azepinium hexachloroantimonates 6a-j. The reaction mechanism comprises of the initial cycloaddition of the in situ generated 1-aza-2-azoniaallene salts 4 to the triple bond of nitrile, giving the spiro-substituted 5a-j, followed by rearrangement and concomitant ring enlargement. From 3a-c where R-1 = aryl, the salts 6a-h are isolated in high yields. However, if ethyl (1-chloro-2-trifluoromethyl) azocarboxy late (3d) is employed, the neutral N(3)-unsubstituted analogues 7a and 7b are obtained and after usual basic work-up, are converted to picrates 8a and 8b respectively. For one compound 6f, the X-ray diffraction analysis has been carried out in order to confirm the structural assignment. A practical modified procedure for preparation of the crucial starting ketone 1 is also described.

Abstract:Novel annulated azaheterocycles of benzo[1,2,4]triazoloazepine and tetrahydronaphtho[1,2-e][1,2,4]triazine derivatives have been synthesized. Treatment of 2-diazenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl acetates with BF3.Et2O generates 1-aza-2-azoniaallenium cation intermediates (or azocarbenium ions), which are intercepted by nitriles via cascade polar [3(+) + 2]-cycloaddition/rearrangement reactions to afford benzo[1,2,4]triazoloazepinium salts. These literature unprecedented fused tricycle compounds have been shown to exhibit antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus with in silico docking studies, suggesting that they may exhibit their antibiotic activity through inhibition of DNA gyrase. Additionally, when ethyl 2-(1-acetoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl)diazene-1-carboxylate is employed, the reaction with BF3.Et2O produces 1,2-diaza-1,3-diene, which reacts with nitriles via a diaza-Diels-Alder reaction with inverse electron demand, leading to ethyl tetrahydronaphtho[1,2-e][1,2,4]triazine carboxylates. The DFT calculation has been performed to further prove the D-A reaction speculation.

Abstract:Herein, we demonstrate the synthesis of azafluoranthene derivatives under mild conditions via [2+2+2] cycloaddition of 1,6‐diynes and nitriles catalyzed by CoBr2/dppp, exhibiting good atom economy. This procedure uses an inexpensive ligand and an earth‐abundant metal as catalyst to lower the cost of synthesis. Several azafluoranthenes are produced in 28–95% yields using this approach, featuring mild conditions, wide substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance. The fluorescence spectra of some azafluoranthenes indicate that these scaffolds have good photophysical properties for material science.

Abstract:Abstract A boron trifluoride catalysed reaction of coplanar 9-(phenylethynyl)-9H-fluoren-9-ols with various 2-aminobenzamides affords a number of highly functionalized, conjugated (Z)-2-((2-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)-1-phenylethylidene)amino) benzamides in excellent yield. The reaction in the presence of N-bromosuccinimide affords (E)-5-bromo-2-((2-bromo-2-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)-1-phenylethylidene)amino)benzamides in very good yields. The scope of the reaction is demonstrated by selecting N-aryl substituted 2-aminobenzamides and aminosulfonamides as reaction partners. The structures of representative compounds were established by single-crystal XRD analysis. Based on the structure of the products, a plausible mechanism via formation of allene carbocation intermediates is proposed.

Abstract:A fluorination-induced intramolecular cyclization for the synthesis of fluoro-substituted spiro-1,3-oxazine and spiro-1,3-thiazine derivative is described. N-(2-(cyclohex-1-en-1-yl)ethyl)benzamide and benzothioamide are used as the substrate, and the cationic fluorinating agent Selectfluor works as the fluoride source. The scope of this regioselective fluorination reaction is established by preparing thirty-two numbers of different spirooxazine and spirothiazine derivatives.

Abstract:A kind of cyclen derivatives having fluorescence properties was designed and synthesized.The titled compound was obtained by reacting 2,3-difluorophenylacetic acid used as the starting material with methanol to yield methyl 2,3-difluoro-phenyl-acetate,followed by reduction in the presence of lithium aluminum hydride to obtain 2-(2,3-difluoro-phenyl)-ethanol,which further reacted with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride to yield the acid ester compound,and this compound then reacted upon cyclen to give 1,4,7,10-tetrakis-[2-(2,3-difluoro-phenyl)-ethyl]-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane.All related compounds were fully characterized by 1HNMR and IR spectroscopic analyses.

Abstract:A fast and efficient Selectfluor-triggered fluorination/cyclization reaction ofo-hydroxyarylenaminones has been successfully developed. The reaction successfully provides an expedient method for the synthesis of 3-fluoro-chromones promoted by potassium carbonate, which shows readily available starting materials and is easy to operate. In addition, a plausible mechanism of this tandem cyclization reaction was proposed where 4H-chromen-4-one, 2-(dimethylamino)-3,3-difluorochroman-4-one, and 3,3-difluoro-2-hydroxychroman-4-one were not found to be the reactive intermediates. Moreover, these novel compounds have been obtained in moderate to good yields, and their structures have been confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and high-resolution mass spectrometry.

Abstract:p-Substituted 2-phenyl-4,5-dihydrofurylium hexachloroantimonates and their 5-methyl analogues underwent acid-catalysed condensation with ethyl orthoformate, malonaldehyde tetraethyl acetal, and glutaconaldehyde potassium salt to give a facile synthesis of a series of novel cyanine dyes involving oxonium salt-enol ether resonance.
