Abstract:The nature of ad hoc networks makes them vulnerable to security attacks.Many security technologies such as intrusion prevention and intrusion detection are passive in response to intrusions in that their countermeasures are only to protect the networks and there is no automated,network-wide counteraction against detected intrusions.This paper proposed an architecture of cooperation intrusion response based multi-agent.The architecture is composed of mobile agents.Monitor agent resides on every node and monitors its neighbor nodes.Decision agent collects information from monitor nodes,and detects an intrusion by security policies.When an intruder is found in the architecture,the block agents will get to the neighbor nodes of the intruder and form a mobile firewall to isolate the intruder.In the end,the model was evaluated by simulation and test bed.

Abstract:A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized administration. The flexibility in space and time induces new challenges towards the security infrastructure. Contrary to their wired counterpart, mobile ad hoc networks do not have a clear line of defense, and every node must be prepared for encounters with an adversary. Therefore, a centralized or hierarchical network security solution does not work well. We provide scalable, distributed security architecture for mobile ad hoc networks in this paper. The architecture integrates the ideas of immune system and a multi-agent architecture. Compared with traditional security system, the proposed security architecture is designed to be distributed, autonomy, adaptability, scalability.

Abstract:Security problems exist in almost every layer of mobile ad hoc network because of its dynamic topology and wireless communication channel.In this paper,we propose an automatic intrusion response model based on mobile agent.This model is constructed by composing the mobility and autonomy of mobile agent and mobile ad hoc network.It monitors nodes in ad hoc network and judge the intrusion by using monitor agent,decision agent and block agent.If an intruder is detected,the agent will block all the related packages of the intruder to isolate the intruder and even kill it.Finally,future work and possible improvement are described.

Abstract:An ad hoc network is formed in haphazard manner. It has many different features from the conventional networks. So the security services applied to the traditional networks are not suitable for the ad hoc networks. In this paper, we will analyze some classical proposals for ad hoc network security and make a comparison on them. From which, we can have a brief idea of the existing circumstances. On the basis of that, we provided two models. Each of those models improves some performance compared to the original.

However, the nature of ad hoc networks makes them vulnerable to security attacks. Existing security technologies such as intrusion prevention and intrusion detection are passive in response to intrusions in that their countermeasures are only to protect the networks and there is no automated, network-wide counteraction against detected intrusions. While they all play an important role in counteracting intrusion, they do not, however, effectively address the root cause of the problem-intruders. Abstract:In resent years, mobile ad hoc networks are a new emerging field with its potential applications in extremely unpredictable and dynamic environments. However, it is particularly vulnerable due to its features of open medium, dynamic changing topology, cooperative routing algorithms. The article surveys the state of the art in security for mobile ad hoc networks. Firstly, we analyze various possible threats to security in mobile ad hoc networks. Secondly, we illustrate representative solutions to deal with those threats, including key management, intrusion detection and cooperation enforcement. We also make a comparison and discussion of their respective merits and faults, and propose some ways to fix these problems. Finally, we also present the challenges which are still worth to further research in the area.

Abstract:To improve the performance and network security of collaborative commerce chain system and to deal with shortcomings of existing solution to electronic commerce,Mobile Agent technology was introduced into the modeling of network-based collaborative commerce chain system.Based on Mobile Agent properties,problems of security and network security confronted with Mobile Agent in the transaction process of network-based collaborative commerce chain were analyzed.Finally,a prototype system between the customer Agent and the supplier Agent was used to expatiate security negotiation bargain procedure based on Mobile Agent under the public key infrastructure and certification authority.Research results showed that Agent's submission permit to the supplier server during authentication process could enhance the network bargain security of the collaborative commerce chain system.

Abstract:Mobile Ad Hoc networks are particularly vulnerable due to their features of dynamic changing topology,and wireless communication.Current security techniques for mobile Ad Hoc networks are divided into five categories:intrusion detection,securing routing protocols,architecture and models,key management techniques and others.Using intrusion detection,nodes' behaviors were analyzed and detected based on particular mathematics modules.Securing routing protocols include novel securing routing protocols and security enhancements of current routing protocols.The security techniques were introduced and analyzed.

Abstract:Mobile agent is a new kind of network computing paradigm in the field of distributed computing. Abstract:An overview of security problems in mobile Agent system is presented. Threats in mobile Agent system include varying attacks to Agents, Agent hosts and communication. The security objectives can be summarized in terms of confidentiality, auth-orization, accountability and availability. Later the security of two dominating mobile Agent programming language: Java and TCL is discussed. A series of measures are also given for countering the identified threats and fulfilling these security objectives.

Abstract:Ad hoc networks are a new wireless networking paradigm for mobile hosts. Unlike traditional mobile wireless networks, ad hoc networks do not rely on any fixed infrastructure. Instead, hosts rely on each other to keep the network connected. Military tactical and other security-sensitive operations are still the main applications of ad hoc networks, although there is a trend to adopt ad hoc networks for commercial uses due to their unique properties. One main challenge in the design of these networks is their vulnerability to security attacks. In this article, we study the threats on ad hoc network faces and the security goals to be achieved. We identify the new challenges and opportunities posed by this new networking environment and explore new approaches to secure its communication. In particular, we take advantage of the inherent redundancy in ad hoc networks-multiple routes between nodes-to defend routing against denial-of-service attacks. We also use replication and new cryptographic schemes, such as threshold cryptography, to build a highly secure and highly available key management service, which terms the core of our security framework.

Abstract:A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes that are dynamically and arbitrarily. It has several salient characteristics: dynamic topologies, bandwidth-constrained, variably capacity links, energy-constrained opera- tion, limited physical security. Due to these properties, mobile ad hoc networks present great challenges for research in security. The paper surveys the state of the art in secure routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. Firstly, we provide security threats applicable and attacks to mobile ad hoc networks. Secondly, we cover some representative so- lutions. We also provide a comparison and discussion of their respective merits and drawbacks, and propose some im- provements for these drawbacks. Finally, we outline future research directions.
