Abstract:The solubility of natural gas in aqueous solution under wide temperature and pressure (273.15-473.15K, 0.1-150 MPa) in deepwater and ultra-deep oil and gas development is significantly affected by temperature and pressure. Accurate prediction of gas solubility is of great significance to reservoir productivity evaluation and accurate control of wellbore pressure. This work statistics the existing experimental data on CH4 solubility, a fugacity-fugacity (F-F) thermodynamic model for predicting the solubility of methane in an aqueous solution at 273.15-473.15 K, 0.1-150 MPa was established. At the same time, a machine learning model for CH4 solubility prediction based on particle swarm optimization and support vector machine (PSO-SVM) is established by using the CH4 solubility database. The model analysis results show that the F-F model and PSO-SVM machine learning model can be used to calculate the solubility of methane in 273.15 K -473.15 K, maximum pressure 150MPa and salinity 0-5.4 mol/kg sodium chloride aqueous solution. The prediction error of F-F model at 273.15-293.15 K in the presence of hydrate and 273.15 K-473.15 K in the absence of hydrate remains within 7.63%. The error of the PSO-SVM machine learning model in predicting the water solubility of methane with pressure greater than 0.1 MPa is kept within 10%, and the error in salt solutions with different salinity is kept within 13%. The F-F thermodynamic model is extended to the calculation of water content in the gas phase, and the accuracy remains above 93%, which is 10% higher than that of the semi-empirical model. Although the calculation accuracy of F-F model is better than the machine learning algorithm, the machine learning algorithm does not need iteration and has the advantage of high efficiency. It is worth popularizing and applying in the field of oil and gas drilling and development.
