Abstract:Dumortier and Roussarie proposed a conjecture in their paper (2009, Discrete Con. Dyn. Sys., 2,723-781): For any \begin{document}$ q\in {\mathbb{N}} $\end{document} , the Abelian integrals \begin{document}$ J_{2j+1}(h) = \int_{\gamma_h}x^{2j-1}\,\mathrm dy $\end{document} , \begin{document}$ j = 0, 1, 2, \cdots, q $\end{document} , form a strict Chebyshev system on intervals \begin{document}$ h\in (0, \frac{1}{2}] $\end{document} , where \begin{document}$ \gamma_h = \{(x, y)| \mathrm e^{-2y}(y+\frac{1}{2}-x^2) = h\} $\end{document} . If this conjecture holds, then they obtain the precise upper bound of the number of limit cycles that appear near a slow-fast Hopf point of any codimension. In the present paper we develop a method to estimate the number of zeros of Abelian integrals and prove this conjecture.

Abstract:For $$n\in \mathbb {N}$$ , we denote by $$\pi (n)$$ the set of prime divisors of n. For a block B of a finite group G, let $${{\,\mathrm{Irr}\,}}(B)$$ be the set of irreducible complex characters of G belonging to B. Let $$\rho (B)$$ be the set of those primes dividing the degree of some character in $${{\,\mathrm{Irr}\,}}(B)$$ , and let $$\sigma (B)$$ be the maximal number of primes dividing such a degree. For a solvable group G, we prove that $$|\rho (B)|\le 3\sigma (B)+1$$ . This provides a block result in the spirit of Huppert’s $$\rho $$ - $$\sigma $$ conjecture.

Abstract:We revisit Haiman's conjecture on the relations between characters of Kazdhan–Lusztig basis elements of the Hecke algebra over . The conjecture asserts that, for purposes of character evaluation, any Kazhdan–Lusztig basis element is reducible to a sum of the simplest possible ones (those associated to so-called codominant permutations). When the basis element is associated to a smooth permutation, we are able to give a geometric proof of this conjecture. On the other hand, if the permutation is singular, we provide a counterexample.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a finite group and $\chi\in \irr(G)$. The codegree of $\chi$ is defined as $\cod(\chi)=\frac{|G:\ker(\chi)|}{\chi(1)}$ and $\cod(G)=\{\cod(\chi) \ |\ \chi\in \irr(G)\}$ is called the set of codegrees of $G$. In this paper, we show that the set of codegrees of $\PSL(3,q)$ and $\PSU(3,q)$ determines the group up to isomorphism.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a conjecture of Kudla and Rallis. Let $\chi$ be a unitary character, $s\in \mathbb{C}$ and $W$ a symplectic vector space over a non-archimedean field with symmetry group $G(W)$. Denote by $I(\chi,s)$ the degenerate principal series representation of $G(W\oplus W)$. Pulling back $I(\chi,s)$ along the natural embedding $G(W)\times G(W)\hookrightarrow G(W\oplus W)$ gives a representation $I_{W,W}(\chi,s)$ of $G(W)\times G(W)$. Let $\pi$ be an irreducible smooth complex representation of $G(W)$. We then prove \[\dim _\mathbb{C}\mathrm{Hom}_{G(W)\times G(W)}(I_{W,W}(\chi,s),\pi\otimes \pi^\lor)=1.\] We also give analogous statements for $W$ orthogonal or unitary. This gives in particular a new proof of the conservation relation of the local Theta correspondence for symplectic-orthogonal and unitary dual pairs.

Abstract:Let $p$ and $q$ be distinct prime numbers, with $q\equiv 1\pmod{12}$. Let $N$ be a positive integer that is coprime to $pq$. We prove a formula relating the Hasse--Weil zeta function of the modular curve $X_0(qN)_{\mathbb{F}_q}$ to the Ihara zeta function of the $p$-isogeny graphs of supersingular elliptic curves defined over $\overline{\mathbb{F}_q}$ equipped with a $\Gamma_0(N)$-level structure. When $N=1$, this recovers a result of Sugiyama.

Abstract:This semi-expository note clarifies the extent to which recent ideas in homological stability can resolve the Ratios Conjecture over $\mathbb{F}_q(t)$. For large fixed $q$, a uniform power saving at distance $\ge q^{-\delta}$ from the critical line is possible. This implies cancellation-beyond-GRH in arbitrarily large ranges of moduli relative to the family of $L$-functions. It has applications to the statistics of low-lying zeros.

On Converse Theorems for Hilbert Modular Forms Assuming Unramified Twists

Abstract:We prove two results on converse theorems for Hilbert modular forms over totally real fields of degree $r>1$. The first result recovers a Hilbert modular form (of some level) from an $L$-series satisfying functional equations twisted by all the unramified Hecke characters. The second result assumes both the 'unramified' functional equations and an Euler product, and recovers a Hilbert modular form of the expected level predicted by the shape of the functional equations. Our result generalizes the current converse theorems for $\mathrm{GL}_2$ in the case of Hilbert modular forms in that we completely remove the assumptions on ramified twists.

Abstract:Let $\Gamma$ be a Fuchsian group in ${\rm SL}_2(\mathbb{R})$. In this note, we discuss the existence of $\rho$-equivariant functions for a two-dimensional representation $\rho$ of $\Gamma$. This assertion was first stated by Saber and Sebbar in 2020, and this note partially fills a gap of their statement by proving the assertion for a certain class of Fuchsian groups such as conjugates of subgroups of ${\rm SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$.

Abstract:For elliptic curves over rationals, there are a well-known conjecture of Sato-Tate and a new computational guided murmuration phenomenon, for which the abelian Hasse-Weil zeta functions are used. In this paper, we show that both the murmurations and the Sato-Tate conjecture stand equally well for non-abelian high rank zeta functions of the p-reductions of elliptic curves over rationals.

Abstract:An explicit formula for the quadratic mean value at $s=1$ of the Dirichlet $L$-functions associated with the odd Dirichlet characters modulo $f>2$ is known. Here we present a situation where we could prove an explicit formula for the quadratic mean value at $s=1$ of the Dirichlet $L$-functions associated with the odd Dirichlet characters modulo not necessarily prime moduli $f>2$ that are trivial on a subgroup $H$ of the multiplicative group $({\mathbb Z}/f{\mathbb Z})^*$. This explicit formula involves summation $S(H,f)$ of Dedekind sums $s(h,f)$ over the $h\in H$. A result on some cancelation of the denominators of the $s(h,f)$'s when computing $S(H,f)$ is known. Here, we prove that for some explicit families of $f$'s and $H$'s this known result on cancelation of denominators is the best result one can expect. Finally, we surprisingly prove that for $p$ a prime, $m\geq 2$ and $1\leq n\leq m/2$, the values of the Dedekind sums $s(h,p^m)$ do not depend on $h$ as $h$ runs over the elements of order $p^n$ of the multiplicative cyclic group $({\mathbb Z}/p^m{\mathbb Z})^*$.
