Abstract:The notion of Hilbert C*-modules graded by a semilattice was first introduced in the study of many-body systems. We show the relationship between these Hilbert C*-modules and their homogeneous subspaces. We study the stability of graded Hilbert C*-modules under tensor products and crossed products.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a simple C*-algebra of stable rank one and let $p$ and $q$ be two $\sigma$-compact open projections. It is proved that there is a continuous path of unitaries in ${\tilde A}$ which connects open sub-projections of $p$ which is compactly contained in $p$ to those in $q.$ It is also shown that every Hilbert module is projective in the category whose morphisms are bounded module maps with adjoints. A discussion of projective Hilbert modules (whose morphisms are bounded module maps) is also given.

Abstract:A Hilbert bimodule is a right Hilbert module X over a C*-algebra A together with a left action of A as adjointable operators on X. We consider families X = {X_s :s\in P} of Hilbert bimodules, indexed by a semigroup P, which are endowed with a multiplication which implements isomorphisms X_s\otimes_A X_t \to X_{st}; such a family is a called a product system. We define a generalized Cuntz- Pimsner algebra O_X, and we show that every twisted crossed product of A by P can be realized as O_X for a suitable product system X. Assuming P is quasi- lattice ordered in the sense of Nica, we analyze a certain Toeplitz extension T_{cov}(X) of O_X by embedding it in a crossed product B_P \times_{\tau,X} P which has been ``twisted'' by X; our main Theorem is a characterization of the faithful representations of B_P \times_{\tau,X} P.

Abstract:We construct Fredholm modules over an algebra taking values in generalized Hilbert spaces over a rigid $C^*$-tensor category. Using methods of Connes, we obtain Chern characters taking values in cyclic cohomology. These Chern characters are well behaved with respect to the periodicity operator, and depend only on the homotopy class of the Fredholm module.

Abstract:Hilbert modules over semigroups are essentially the same thing as uniformly bounded representations of semigroups on Hilbert spaces. We develop extension theory of Hilbert modules over semigroups and mainly apply them to study questions from operator theory and representations of nonamenable groups.

Abstract:This is a continuation of a previous study [10] on Lie algebra gl ∞ in the context of quantum vertex algebras.In this paper, we study a particular category C of gl ∞ -modules and a subcategory Cint of integrable gl ∞ -modules.As the main results, we classify the irreducible modules in these two categories and we show that every module in category Cint is semi-simple.Furthermore, we determine the decomposition of the tensor products of irreducible modules in category Cint.

Abstract:Let g(0) = t(0) circle plus p(0) be the Cartan decomposition of a real semisimple Lie algebra and g = t circle plus p be its complexification. Let v : t -> so(p) be the corresponding isotropy representation, and the exterior algebra boolean AND p becomes a graded t-module by extending V. We study a graded t-submodule C of boolean AND p and get two important decompositions of the t-module boolean AND p. Let S(t) be the symmetric algebra over t. Then boolean AND p also has an S(t)-module structure, which is t-equivariant, and C is a space of generators for this module. Our results generalize Kostant's results in the special case that v is the adjoint representation of a semisimple Lie algebra.

Abstract:We show that when A is a separable C*-algebra, every countably generated Hilbert A-module is projective (with bounded module maps as morphisms). We also study the approximate extensions of bounded module maps. In the case where A is a σ-unital simple C*-algebra with strict comparison, and every strictly positive lower semicontinuous affine function on quasitraces can be realized as the rank of an element in the Cuntz semigroup, we show that the Cuntz semigroup is equivalent to unitarily equivalent classes of countably generated Hilbert A-modules if and only if A has stable rank one.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the Hilbert functions and the associated properties of the graded modules. To attain this, we construct the graded modules from the sets of points in projective space, $\mathbb{P}_k^n$ . We use a computer software package for algebraic computations Macaulay2 to study the Hilbert functions and the associated properties of the graded modules. Thereafter, we provide theoretical proofs of the results obtained from Macaulay2 and finally, we give illustrative examples to justify some of our results.

Abstract:Using a geometric argument building on our new theory of graded sheaves, we compute the categorical trace and Drinfel'd center of the (graded) finite Hecke category $\mathsf{H}_W^\mathsf{gr} = \mathsf{Ch}^b(\mathsf{SBim}_W)$ in terms of the category of (graded) unipotent character sheaves, upgrading results of Ben-Zvi-Nadler and Bezrukavninov-Finkelberg-Ostrik. In type $A$, we relate the categorical trace to the category of $2$-periodic coherent sheaves on the Hilbert schemes $\mathsf{Hilb}_n(\mathbb{C}^2)$ of points on $\mathbb{C}^2$ (equivariant with respect to the natural $\mathbb{C}^* \times \mathbb{C}^*$ action), yielding a proof of a conjecture of Gorsky-Negut-Rasmussen which relates HOMFLY-PT link homology and the spaces of global sections of certain coherent sheaves on $\mathsf{Hilb}_n(\mathbb{C}^2)$. As an important computational input, we also establish a conjecture of Gorsky-Hogancamp-Wedrich on the formality of the Hochschild homology of $\mathsf{H}_W^\mathsf{gr}$.

Abstract:The uncovering of new structure on the Cuntz semigroup of a C*-algebra of stable rank one leads to several applications: We answer affirmatively, for the class of stable rank one C*-algebras, a conjecture by Blackadar and Handelman on dimension functions, the Global Glimm Halving problem, and the problem of realizing functions on the cone of 2-quasitraces as ranks of Cuntz semigroup elements. We also gain new insights into the comparability properties of positive elements in C*-algebras of stable rank one.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the graded modules for the graded contact Cartan algebras K(n, m) and K(n). For a canonical basis of uPTG module, we derive a commutator formula and then realize Shen's mixed product module in uPTG module nu(n, m) for H(n,m). Considering the Poisson subalgebra K over circle as 1-dimensional central extension of HBAR(n, m), we describe the irreducible PTG modules for K(n, m) and K(n), respectively. In particular, for arbitrary K(n, m), we recover Holmes' work for K(n, 1).

Abstract:We show under certain constraints that $A$-valued semicircular systems give rise to C*-discrete inclusions, and thus are crossed products by an action of a tensor category. Along the way, we show the set of single algebraic generators of a dualizable bimodule forms an open subset. Furthermore, we obtain a Galois correspondence between the lattice of intermediate C*-discrete subalgebras intermediate to a given irreducible C*-discrete inclusion, and characterize these as targets of compatible expectations. Finally, we define ``freeness'' for actions of tensor categories on C*-algebras, and show simplicity is preserved under taking reduced crossed products.

Graded Steinberg Algebras and Their Representations

Abstract:We study the category of left unital graded modules over the Steinberg algebra of a graded ample Hausdorff groupoid. In the first part of the paper, we show that this category is isomorphic to the category of unital left modules over the Steinberg algebra of the skew-product groupoid arising from the grading. To do this, we show that the Steinberg algebra of the skew product is graded isomorphic to a natural generalisation of the the Cohen-Montgomery smash product of the Steinberg algebra of the underlying groupoid with the grading group. In the second part of the paper, we study the minimal (that is, irreducible) representations in the category of graded modules of a Steinberg algebra, and establish a connection between the annihilator ideals of these minimal representations, and effectiveness of the groupoid. Specialising our results, we produce a representation of the monoid of graded finitely generated projective modules over a Leavitt path algebra. We deduce that the lattice of order-ideals in the $K_0$-group of the Leavitt path algebra is isomorphic to the lattice of graded ideals of the algebra. We also investigate the graded monoid for Kumjian--Pask algebras of row-finite $k$-graphs with no sources. We prove that these algebras are graded von Neumann regular rings, and record some structural consequences of this.

Abstract:We consider a finite dimensional strongly G-graded algebra A with self-injective 1-component B, and in our main result we prove that the induction from B to A of a basic support τ-tilting pair of B-modules is a support τ-tilting pair ( M , P ) of A-modules if and only if M is G-invariant. A similar statement holds for the restriction from A to B, so our results may be viewed as Clifford and Maschke type theorems for 2-term silting complexes. We also give applications to semibricks and the associated wide subcategories.

Abstract:For a fixed semi-Wakamatsu-tilting module A(T), we generalize the concepts of Auslander class, Bass class, and investigate many homological properties of such classes. Moreover, we establish an equivalence between the class of infinity-T-cotorsionfree modules and a subclass of the class of T-adstatic modules. Finally, a similar version of Auslander-Bridger approximation theorem and a nice property of relative cotrans-pose are obtained.

Abstract:We consider several natural ways of expressing the idea that a one-sided ideal in a C*-algebra (or a submodule in a Hilbert C*-module) is large, and show that they differ, unlike the case of two-sided ideals in C*-algebras. We then show how these different notions, for ideals and for submodules, are related. We also study some permanence properties for these notions. Finally, we use essential right ideals to extend the inner product on a Hilbert C*-module to a part of the dual module.

Abstract:The goal of the present paper is a short introduction to a general module frame theory in C*-algebras and Hilbert C*-modules. The reported investigations rely on the idea of geometric dilation to standard Hilbert C*-modules over unital C*-algebras that possess orthonormal bases, and of reconstruction of the frames by projections and other bounded module operators with suitable ranges. We obtain frame representation and decomposition theorems, as well as similarity and equivalence results. The relative position of two and more frames in terms of being complementary or disjoint is investigated in detail. In the last section some recent results by P. G. Casazza are generalized to our setting. The Hilbert space situation appears as a special case. For detailled proofs we refer to another paper also contained in the ArXiv.
